The staff was curteous and pleasant. However, anyone there to advocate for a loved one better hope they don't need to have an overnight stay or that you don't need to eat. The coffee shop closes by 2:30 and takes orders online and by cc online payment only. The gift shop is also open until 2:30 and doesn't accept cash.only cards. The cafe closes at 6:30 and the only people that have access to vending machines are employees. No customers. Bring a cooler full of food for your stay.

I stayed there a few days ago, honestly the customer service and nurses were not helpful. This has been the worst stay I wasn't able to bathe and when I asked the nurse said I had to do it on my own. I was heavily medicated and everyone comes all at once im not able to understand them and I wish they would have explained things when I felt better.
They make random notes on MyChart. Not happy at all with my stay and unfortunately it seems like this won't change my feet we're swollen and I asked a nurse to cover me and she never came back. : just highly disappointed and wouldn't recommend anyone to get treated here.

Went here because I injured myself with a bike accident. I went in because it felt like I broke a bone. I've done it before so I know the feeling. After an x ray it turns out I did not, thankfully. However I was in an excruciating amount of pain. Constant throbbing pain. With tears running down my face because it hurt so bad I ask if I can get something for the pain.
They give me some baby aspirin and a sling and sent me home. I've literally never been in so much pain before in my life. I tell them, while crying, that the pain is a 10. How can you call yourself a healthcare professional? A grown man comes in crying because he hurts so much and you can't at least give him ONE pill to alleviate the pain. Bullshit

I have been here when I was a teenager. I had my wisdom teeth pulled and I had other a rash issu that I broke out in. But I got the help and medication 's I needed to get better. I felt so much better. I was happier too. Plus my Dad was in that hospital. He got the care he needed there. I am grateful for all the doctors and nurses that took care of him when he was there. That meant so much to me and my family too. I would recommend this place to my families and friends %100

My 2 hospital visits have been wonderful. I have not had to stay overnight as I had one day surgeries and see doctors and PA in the PAD clinic. They are all wonderful and make it easier to drive so far to see them. I have great confidence in them all and they answer all my questions so I feel I can trust them. Thank you Dr. Beckwellum and staff.

I'm very upset and angry about writing that. My father was recently admitted to the hospital where he stayed for two weeks. One evening, a nurse came by and rigorously yanked his mask off his face. The nurse threw the mask away. This happened on March 11th, second floor, room 237. My father, neither speaks nor understands English. He informed us the following morning and was reported to one of the doctors while one of the nurses who took care of him was there.
I am furious that this took place in a medical establishment by a health care worker. I cannot imagine being treated this way while being vulnerable. What a ruthless being. This is the reason for the mistrust and cynicism between patients and health care workers.

Love this hospital and the staff don't get enough credit. I have watched many people disrespect the staff because of wait times that are clearly out of their control. This is a hospital not the Costco line, if someone is more emergent they will always be tended to first. People need to start learning about the difference between urgent care, ER, and the family doctor because you will save so much time waiting in a waiting room just to get sent home minutes after getting in your room for a std check or toe pain

I want to shout out my nurse Robin! I am in yesterday to the ER and she was amazing! She supported me through the whole procedure and reassured me everything was going to be okay. She had exceeded her role! I felt Safe and confident in her I was in good hands. Also shout out the team of drs and nurse that helped with my surgery!

Okay first off they have terrible service! They have the longest wait times out of all the hospitals in MN. Not only did they have my mother waiting for 14 hours in the emergency room to be seen; They provided her with terrible care she just ended up dying because of the care plan that they implemented upon her. If you have anybody with a loved one never use them especially if they're older they talk all of the older patients out of changing their status about be resuscitated in case of needing CPR.
I went to patient services to complain about the service and filed a grievance complaint with the state all before my mother passed and no one has yet to return my phone call and or contacted me from this hospital and my mother passed on the 13th of December. This hospital is pathetic and they prey on minorities and elderly people. They need to be shut down for the way they did my poor mother and any other people that go there trusting them to be caring and compassionate and find out they sneaky and conniving!

Im not from Minnesota so this was the first hospital I've ever went to. Had my last child there and the experience since then as been bad. Majority of the staff are rude and careless. I had to take my son there tonight because has a fever wouldn't go down. So when I get there his fever is 103.3. So I'm panicking because my second oldest has had experience seizures from high fevers.
Long story short they send us back to the lobby and never said a word or offered medicine. Not to mention he's only 1. So I ask the lady at the front desk can I speak to someone to figure out what I should do because I'm worried. She tell to have a seat and wait until a nurse is available. Like are you serious? So I ask to speak to someone over her and she replies and says the same thing and I'm like his temperature is 103.3 is this not a emergency she YES but I still have to wait and that the doctor didn't want to get my son any medicine. She was rude and had a very bad and attitude. I will not be going back to this hospital, they are by far careless and disrespectful.

I am here undergoing a kidney removal surgery. It has been a very painful and difficult experience. However, the staff at the North Memorial Hospital has been nothing less than exemplary. They have been kind, patient, responsive, professional, and very relatable. They have helped me ease my pain and anxiety that I have had with this operation. I would recommend this hospital to anybody who has a major surgery coming up. They do a good job and are very thorough. I really appreciate the care I received your at North Memorial Hospital.

The staff at this hospital is incompetent period. I came to visit a patient here, first they could not find him in the system then they asked me to leave because I had my infant son with me but they wait until I have passed two front desks and security. The nurses are rude and sneaky. DON'T GO HERE! If I could give it a negative star rating I would, save yourself a bad experience!

My wife had been at North Memorial hospital for two weeks already. She had a stroke that required emergency surgery to relieve pressure on her brain. The surgery went fine and she was in the ICU with a ventilator for the next five days. I've requested a visit and the hospitals policy will not allow and visitors. No exceptions. I've been to the main entrance of the hospital several times in the past two weeks to either pick something up that my wife no longer needed or to drop items off.
This morning while I was picking up some items to take home, I saw a patient walk past the main entrance desk, down the main entry lobby, through the revolving door and out to the front entrance sidewalk. He was walking with an IV cart with two bags hanging and they were connected to him. He had no mask or any other face covering. When I left he was outside at the main entrance sidewalk smoking a cigarette. I could hardly believe what I saw. Apparently there are double standards about who can come and go from the hospital. No visitor policy - only when they want to apply it.

This is reviewing the mental health clinic specifically. They are complete shit. I went in for an intake interview for a outpatient program and they said I could probably start right away and then didn't call me back for 2 days. Then they told me they aren't sure if they are going to take my insurance, even though my insurance says they are in network and the clinic told me they take my insurance when I asked them for the initial appointment. Days of not being able to get ahold of someone there and being told differing information.
Their customer service for a hospital is among the lowest. They wouldn't let me start a program there because they couldn't figure out their billing situation (even though they are in my network!) and then when it finally got resolved-weeks later-there is a month waitlist for the program. Sucky customer service from billing specialist, therapist, and program coordinator. Will never think about going back there.

I had an appointment for an ultrasound. I was told my appointment was 11:45, I checked in 5 minutes early, a half hour later I am still waiting. I go to complain and they tell me my appointment was at noon. I was about to pull out the slip they sent me that clearly states the appointment is at 11:45 and she tells me they have me come in 15 minutes early for checkin.
It took 30 seconds to check in! Don't lie about the appointment time! I am still sitting here, 40 minutes later waiting. Why did I need to schedule an appointment if you are just going to make me wait?!

Nobody in the Er. We wait for over an hour for ultra sound then after ultra sound all of a sudden we wait another 1 1/2 hours before we get called back to a room because all of a sudden there are 2 people ahead of me. Why was I not called back to the Er to see the dr while I waited for the ultra sound instead of getting lost in the mix.shitty hospital shitty front triage nurses it sucks I'll have to drive to actually get to a decent hospital from now on WHICH IS AMYWHERE BUT NMMC

-1 STAR Disclaimer: This is, if possible negative star review, or Zero star. Private greivance bears no progress. I grew up down the road and volunteered at this hospital when I was younger. While there are several noteworthy marks in professional area, such as the heart center, they are failing where no company should; child endangerment. (See 518.17c) Official Referee Report, March 30, 2019 walk to hospital ER with 48 hour chest pain.
The lobby is mainly empty with Jim Jones documentary playing. About that crazy "christian" cult leader? Finally made it back to the room. The wait time for room is roughly an hour and a half. Room 11. Nurse enters. I tell him "I will be recording." He gathers his supervisor. A sherrif then enters the room behind my shoulder. This is a private patient room.
Why he inside #myspace? I tell him I want him "leave immediately." He decides to ignore. We have dialogue about HIPPA. Feel not safe. My DU recorder captures this dialogue. @youtube https://youtu.be/rXfHipJr9gw I tell him it would not have even been an issue, until I voluntarily exposed I would be recording. (As my two phones were recording in my pocket.) The nurse returns and says he wont be recorded because he doesn't "feel comfortable." I tell him I wont be recorded because I don't "feel safe." As I prepare to leave the room my phone, and my ears, capture both the sherrif and the "charge nurse" hear me verbally report my children were in DANGER.
In spite of this, neither initiate emergency protocol. Nurse simply says. "Im sorry to hear that." I respond, "No, i dont think you are, because I just reported an issue and you did nothing." Sherrif is still standing there with no comment. Under the escort of the sherrif I leave. He attempts to buddy up to me with unsympathy. I realize, I am not OK being ignored again (see my #DASC review).
I return to ER and ask for sherrif, "Deputy Chaps Tick" call him. Security staff say, he "be back soon." 9:52pm 15 minutes. 25 minutes. 40 minutes. I see he is not coming back soon. It is getting late. I initiate a non-emergency call to Steele County from ER lobby. (Miraculously the Sherrif appears halfway into my 911 call! Along with the hospital supervisor.
The sherrif disconnects the dispatch, code 1896. He says he's "Got it." maybe it's #maybelline? I follow up with PD. No report. He essentially intercepted his own arrest process for refusing to file MN 518.17c ) Can the police arrest an on duty sherrif? Yes. Roughly one month later, on May 5th, 2019 the children were taken by CPS. Second time nder the ex wifes care.
Can you spell negligence? Do not choose their clinics as your primary care provider. I regret ever having chosen them and will be changing asap. I went to the New Hope clinic. The previous time I visited was brief and unremarkable, but I recently had a more serious problem come up and reached out. My doctor was unprofessional, rude, and unwilling to be flexible with the fact that I'm currently designated home-bound (by the hospital, whose records I offered to release, but this offer was literally ignored).
I called back to contact the supervisor to see if I could get help solving the problem and while she was professional and polite, after "investigating, " she called me back and reiterated exactly what my doctor had said with no offer as to solutions.

I got a phone call yesterday after work that my Mom was in the ER and to get down to North Memorial. I felt like I was in a complete fog, mind racing, an eerie calm, with a touch of panic and I'm thinking too much, but yet not at all. I felt like I was in a state of confusion, drove past the parking sign 2x. I think the parking situation for North Memorial could be set up better. larger and more clear and should definitely NOT cost so much.
I felt like I just went to work 2x in one day (I work dtwn Mpls). Service: EVERYONE was soooo very pleasant. They made my sense of confusion a lot easier and I felt comfortable leaving my Mom when I had to go home around 11pm to get ready for work. She seemed comfortable (which is abnormal for my Mom - if you only knew her) with her nurse, nurse asst and those taking her from CT Scans to Xrays, etc.
Even on my way out to the parking ramp, as I got turned around, employees were so friendly in their assistance of getting me back to my vehichle. Some were on breaks and chatting with other co-workers and still greeted me with a cordial and personable salutation. Being treated like a human goes such a long way in customer service and makes an uncomfortable visit a lot easier. I think North Memorial has figured out the formula on how to treat patients.

I have never - EVER - had to wait this long to be seen in an Emergency Room. We have been here for four hours. My BF came in because he couldn't keep anything down - not even water. He had been vomiting for almost 36 hours. There was absolutely no urgency about the fact that he was severely dehydrated. We were told over and over again, "You're the next in line." Not true - we are still waiting.
Everyone who came in around the same time as us has come and gone. I know Emergency Rooms get busy and I totally understand. But this is beyond ridiculous. We'll never come here again.

I came in after five days of vomiting and diarrhea to make sure I wasn't overly dehydrated and that it wasn't anything else wrong. My wait was quite a while though for a Sunday night at the Emergency Room I was in and out fairly quickly. 2-stars for time. The staff were professional and helpful plus responsive when I need help or had a question. 2-star for customer service.
I got treated medically for what I went there for and ruled out any remote possibilities of more serious complications. 1-star for satisfying reason for visit. Overall, it was a good visit considering. I will say that I wish they had an urgent care department as well because I think it would cut down on patients in the ER. Have the checkout in the same place just a separate triage or area nearby.

I took a nasty spill down the stairs and tore the connective tissue between my tibia and fibula, the impact of which also snapped the fibula itself. I live about 4 blocks from HCMC and their ER is SCARY (my friend had here baby there and was across the hall from listening to a crack head screaming while giving birth). Needless to say I didn't wanna go there so I asked a friend to drive me across town which was absolutely worth the inconvenience.
I had literally a 15 minute wait before being admitted. I was EXTREMELY concerned about costs due to my insurance lapsing after having literally JUST switched jobs a week before. The nurses were very comforting and gave me information on MN care and backdating the coverage. My ER doctor was very nice and reassuring and took the time to answer all of my questions.
He showed concern over the fact that I needed surgery on my ankle and arranged for it to happen that day so that I wouldn't have to wait for my new insurance coverage to kick in which would have prolonged my healing time. From check in to check out I was only there a total of 7 hours including surgery and recovery time to wake up from anesthesia.
I am very nervous in hospitals and around doctors in general and I could not have imagined a more positive experience. I owe $0 in medical bills and the staff absolutely did everything possible to help me during what would have otherwise been a very stressful and difficult time.

Compared to my last emergency visit at a hospital in Boston, this hospital was not too bad. Only had to wait 40 minutes from the time I checked in to my appt. so far the nurses have been great-nice, cordial, even funny! Parking garage for patients- so free parking, yay. Very nice receptionist on the lower level that directed us to this room. The nurse who helped with the CT scan was great as well.
