Dr. Moles earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University before going to the Indiana University School of Optometry for her Doctor of Optometry degree. She has over 27 years of experience working in a multi-doctor private practice and joined the team in 2021. Katharine Moles feels that Eagle Eye Optique is a warm and inviting place to work, listens closely to the needs of patients and looks forward to taking care of your eyecare needs.
There is a difference in eye exams. Of course, the professionals at Eagle Eye Optique do the refraction, where we determine your prescription. We also spend time checking how your general health may be affecting your eyes such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, and stroke. We listen to how you use your eyes and match lenses to your needs and wants.
All lenses are not created equal. At Eagle Eye Optique, we offer state-of-the-art eyeglass lenses in the latest designs and materials. We recommend newer-generation progressive lenses, which greatly eliminate swim, distortion, and other optical problems. We recommend aspheric lenses, where appropriate.
One more thing for your eye's health is to avoid excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Sunglasses and a brimmed hat are essential to protect your eyes if you spend a lot of time in the sun. Your sunglasses must filter out UVA and UVB. Some regular eyeglass lenses (Trivex, polycarbonate, high index, or Transitions) have built-in protection from UV radiation, or it can be applied as a coating to standard plastic lenses. There is some debate that blue light might be harmful and sunglasses do help with those wavelengths.

We have been going to Eagle Eye Optique since we moved back to the area a few years ago. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We feel like we get a thorough exam from the doctors. The crown jewel of the office is Amanda who is the person you work with to get your glasses. She is incredibly helpful whenever we need anything. As long as she is working there we will never leave.

I have been coming to Eagle Eye Optique for over a decade. Every single visit I have is thorough, pleasant, and timely. Simply the best eye care I have ever received - and I have been wearing glasses/contacts for over forty years. Don't waste time or money anywhere else. Great doctors, great staff, great selection of contacts and frames, and always leave with a smile.

I am writing a review for Eagle Eye Optique in Crown Point Indiana I was very disturbed when I received a phone call this morning August 27th 20/20 I have been seeing dr. Scearce for quite some time now I've received eyeglasses in hopes to get contacts unfortunately for the past 3 years I have had issues with extreme dry eyes I have been to many opthamologist as well as optometrist with no such luck as far as getting help with the dryness dr. Scearce recommended two of his colleagues one of them in which practice in Dyer and makes a serum of your blood for dry eyes at the amount of $200 per vial per week unfortunately I am not rich and cannot afford this type of money so I chose not to go to this particular doctor also dr. Scearce said a possibility could be my hormones that I needed to get my hormone levels checked that could be a reason for the dryness I have an appointment September 14th with an OB gyne / MD I called with a question to Eagle Eye Optique because my left eye was bothering me and questioned I was told I had cataracts in both eyes just wanted to know which one was worse the left or right apparently one of the secretaries not sure who is who or who his wife is I was told he would no longer be interested in assisting me with contacts or glasses because I was not seeing the doctors he suggested I am appalled I am so sickened by the medical field in this day and age everything is ruled by the almighty dollar this is so sad but it's the God's honest truth dr. Scearce was a very kind and caring doctor when I was in his presence unfortunately his staff I do not know who his wife is but there was an elderly woman that help me with glasses as well and she was not very professional I was told on the phone he would no longer assist me and that is quite okay I don't have a problem looking for another optometrist just wanted to be known the issues that I have endured with this company Eagle Eye Optique in Crown Point Indiana I'm at a point in my life I am tired of getting abused my businesses and Facilities that only care about the almighty dollar wake up people it's not all about the money

This is honestly the nicest eye doctors to go to in Northwest Indiana. Dr. Gary Scearce is a very smart man l, who knows & does his job well while making you feel warm & welcome at his practice. I never seen or knew any eye drs offices until entering Eagle Eye who go so above & beyond to help & assist people in finding the perfect set of frames for individual face & explaining any questions about glasses or contacts you may have!
They've been a family owned practice in buisness for many, many yrs & the reason is because the people who stand behind & run the business are great & always put customers satisfaction before anything else, like closing on time or dont mind staying late. They also have the nicest & up to date style of frames & ! Is a hidden gem in Crown Point you should check out next time your in need of eyeglasses, contacts or an exam & Dr.
Who really cares about you & your well-being. Amanda is also always there she's the 5 red head always running around doing something for someone. She is super helpful & a great asset to Eagle Eye & she knows her stuff & is always ready to help the next customer, no matter how busy their office may be at the time!

The owners wife was extremely rude to me upon booking my appointment. When I revisited for exam the doctor was professional and nice. When I ordered my glasses I was told 7-10 days til delivery, lady was helpful. Today, day 10 I called to be told that my glasses didn't pass inspection and it would be another 7 days! I can not recommend this place after the woman being so rude to me and now such a delay in receiving my new glasses!

I've been a patient if Dr. Scearce since I was 6 years old. He provides the most through exam I have ever had. He is extremely patient and will explain anything you wish. His staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have the largest selection of glasses I have ever seen. The name brands are expensive, but they do have cost afforadle frames; all you have to do is ask!

While the doctor knows what he is doing and seems pretty sharp, it is ridiculously overpriced and the service is awful. They were mean and insulting to my wife for not setting up a follow-up exam even though she called several times and even left voice messages to which they never responded. They also screwed up using my insurance plan, a mistake that would have cost almost $150 if I didn't figure it out on my own.
They will try to take every dollar out of your wallet as possible. If you ignore me and still go to this place, you will know what I'm talking about when one of the first things they try to sell to you is a useless 3D eye scan. There are a ton of other places to go in the Crown Point area, I can't speak for the rest but I recommend avoiding this place.
