I'll always have a problem with this hospital.came in today to see about my back pain. my triage nurse, Karen, was amazing. But the PA Sherri the redhead made this visit horrible.i walk back to my room or whatever and i wait for her to enter and before she enters i can hear her outside the door talking about my occupation, which im a cashier helping with school and stuff, and laughing, her and the other nurses had their phones out while my files were out! which is a huge HIPPA violation. as she enters you can already tell she had a snarky attitude.anyways she questions me saying "why are you at the ER and not at your primary doctor" mind you im 19 so i just left pediatrics like a couple months ago!
And im currently in college so i don't have a primary doctor yet.anyways she just left a horrible taste in my mouth and her energy was just horrible.she's supposed to care for people that come in not making fun of what i do for work and having the phone out during my visit! she just really made my night and this visit very horrible

I'm having bad cramps and pain. I waited 2.5hrs in the lobby just to get called. Instead of checking my body they took urine and blood smh. Found out after asking what's the wait that the blood machine is broke! LET ME KNOW.My kids are about to get off the bus because I wasn't prepared for a 4 to 5hr wait! This is THE WOOORRSSSTTT PLACE EVERRRR! I was born and raised here in Smithfield and they have ALWAYS been terrible and I lost a lot of family because they HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOINGGGG! Please DO SOMETHING!

The unit for mental health definitely needs some better trained staff. They do not know or even skilled with the type of patients that come in with mental issues. Some of the staff is great the actually come to work to do their job but a lot of the young ladies come there to sit behind a desk and let the clock tic. I mean it's some severe patients that come in that unit that need more counseling and attention than they care to even give. If you have to send a loved one to get mental health I would not recommend this place until they get some better training and less lazy staff members in that unit.

Very disappointed in this hospital. We have been at the ER for five hours and still don't know anything. The person that took my husband's vitals was very rude. A NP has been in the room for a few minutes; no Doctor has been by, but I'm sure we'll be charged for one (or several). A person could literally die waiting to find out what is wrong with them. :(

I am currently at this hospital in the ER. First, I asked for a Patient Advocate and the woman I asked said, "For what?"I advised for concerns and complaints. She told me they only had suggestion cards. I know all about Patient Advocates and Risk Management and that everyone has them because my mother is a doctor in the ER and everyone in my family is in the medical field. Nonetheless, the encounter I have had with them thus far is that the employees of this hospital has the most terrible bedside manner I've ever seen in a hospital. Rang the nurse's station and they never answered, just turned off the notification. Everybody here seems like they are sick of their jobs and doesn't want to help anyone. Will see how the rest of the visit goes.

I'm not a huge fan of the medical field so I dreaded having to take my husband to the er, especially during a pandemic. I visualized hours long wait in waiting room, exposed to who knows what, docs making time till their shift was over, etc. Imagine my surprise that he was greeted with compassion and friendliness, all covid sanitary procedures followed, little wait time and docs who were involved in listening to him, understanding of his pain, nurses who were cheerful, kind and professional. It was a fabulous experience. I wish other practices would take notes
