Eye Medical Center

As if the medical profession doesn't make enough money? Now Eye Medical Center is passing along the credit card fee to patients! As heath care gets more expensive and out of pocket costs keep going higher, many senior citizens, those without insurance, or if you have a high-deductible plan have no choice but to charge their healthcare costs. Beware of this new policy if you must frequent Eye Medical. You do have alternative and equally competent doctors who put patients first than their wallet.

Highly disappointed and discouraged with their communication. Went in to be seen for a stye appointment weeks ago and was told they would contact me to schedule an appointment. I just got a call a couple of minutes ago letting me know that I had two appointments scheduled for this week which I could not attend due to a conflicting full-time work schedule and not being notified in advance. I really wish someone would have called instead of just scheduling me down for an appointment on a day and time that I never agreed on.

I had an excellent experience here! The staff, from scheduling to receptionists, are all incredibly helpful and kind. Dr. Prescott is fantastic! It was a very busy day in the office, but he did not appear rushed in his exam and really took the time to explain his assessment, knowledgeable evaluation & optimal plan of care. I was so very thankful that Dr. Prescott was able to immediately perform the corrective procedure instead of having to schedule a separate appointment for months later. Overall, a very positive experience at Eye Medical Center of Fresno, especially during a pandemic. Many thank you's to Dr. Elizabeth Luu, the exceptional referring doctor who noted the initial issue, Dr. Daniel Prescott and all staff!

Dr. Gaede, whose photo is not shown for some reason, is the only Doctor I have found around here who knows about RK surgery and the resulting problems. He is thorough, fun, and takes plenty of time to explain things. I expect to be seeing him as my eye doctor or many years to come.

Efficient, Clean offices with very courteous and helpful staff. Quick check in, and on time appointment. Great medical office, warm welcoming experience. Knowledgeable, professional and friendly doctor.

With the recent fires in the area, my eyes were irritated. No optometrist would able to see me for a same day appointment. The receptionist was very accommodating, caring & friendly. Dr Strum is very thoughtful & an exceptional doctor. The entire staff is very professional & nice. Many thanks!

Went in for issues with my left eye, I was almost blind to the point where I had to keep my eye closed because it would do me more harm than good. I felt like a real life pirate. All jokes aside, Dr. Thinda was awesome. He explained the whole process to me, and did all the necessary tests to determine my condition. He recommended a 3 shot treatment.

After the first shot I was able to see again. Dr. Thinda went as far as giving me my first shot before it being approved by my insurance. This saved me a trip and saved my eye. Blessings to him and the staff, can't recommend them enough. Now I'm back to normal, and don't have to live like a pirate.

Monique was an incredibly caring and understanding person. I enjoyed my appointment with her and felt very very comfortable and understood. She was very knowledgeable in her area of expertise.

My experience was very pleasent. They were able to treat my eye with the laser at the same visit, so it was taken care of and saved me another trip right away. Very professional staff.

Veronica and Karina at the Downtown location on 'S' street were amazing! Great customer service and nothing but smiles. I went to get a replacement for my glasses to find that they had Versace frames and other high end frames like Coach, Gucci, Prada and more! And they also take Care Credit. I was soooooo blown away by how they fit on my face and the Amazing anti-glare on the lenses.

If you want a pleasant experience and basically any name brand frames they got it! I love the quality of the frames and customer service. Not at all a long wait, I was serviced quickly.

I saw Dr. Gaede for a routine eye exam. He was great. Super efficient. Funny. Experienced. Knowledgeable. And speaks really, really fast. Staff was friendly and helpful and the process was very organized but with social distancing guidelines and remodeling in the building, things were a bit chaotic in the waiting areas. I ordered contact lenses from them on Friday, following my appointment, and they were delivered to my door on Sunday morning. Incredibly fast!

I wish I had come here first instead as a second opinion after Eye Q caused permanent damage. Dr. Sakauye is the most thorough doctor I have ever visited. She leaves no stone unturned. She diagnosed in one visit what Eye Q never could no matter how many visits.

Love this place. Very professional staff both up front and doctors. High quality exam and a good laugh for $10-, can't beat it. Dr. Gaede is a kick and I look forward to seeing him once a year.

Every experience with a doctor or clerical person has been great. But they seem completely understaffed in Suite 201. You can never get a person on the phone directly to order contacts. They take forever to answer the phone. When you walk in nobody addresses you, you just sign in. For such a large office they need more people working behind the desk.

I think they are racist at this clinic. My appointment was at 3:25. I arrived 30 min early. And all three people that get there after me get seen first. And guess what they were white.

I have always been happy with the quality of care. The staff is also friendly. My most recent visit, though, lasted more than 2 1/2 hours for a full eye exam. This would have been tolerable if it were an aberration, but wait times at the Herndon location always seem to be lengthy. It might also be nice for staff to keep one updated on how long the wait might be.

But I think it is just business as usual for them, so they probably don't think in those terms. To sum up, the care is great! You just have to wait a long time to get it!

I wanted again to send an "atta-boy" and "atta-gal" to the staff at the eye institute. I want to thank Justin for getting me that earlier appointment with Dr Mendoza and Dr Mckinney today. I just left about three hours ago and the eye dilation is wearing off. As a RN CS FNP we truly make the worst patients, but you guys are super. I want to thank the front office staff and back office staff for tolerating my sense of humor that goes back to my college fraternity days.

Keep up the great work and Dr Bertaluci your vitrectomy post my kenpo karate injury and you took great care of me too. So, God bless you all and keep up the great work. See you in a year. Your brother Medical warrior Major Mike

Been a patient here for over 10 years. The front office staff are always quick to check you in and are nice. The best appointment times are first thing in the morning. The best part is They do Saturday appointments as well, which works out great if you can't get the time off of work. They have a small optical department to purchase glasses and the wait time to be helped can be long.

I usually don't purchase glasses here unless I find something I really love yes I can be picky. Lol. I have purchased glasses here and the great thing is when you have problems or issues you can take them back. I had a year warranty on one pair and the lens was super scratched and they replaced it for free. They also do adjustments for free.

Tried calling to make an appointment and was greeted very poorly. Whoever the receptionist was, needs to be way more respectful over the phone. Really makes me not want to continue going to this office because of how disrespectful she was.

Dr. Gaede was amazing! A true professional with a great sense of humor. He answer all of my questions was very honest. He did a complete eye exam making it fun and educational. A very pleasant appointment I highly recommend bring your family to be seen with Dr. Gaede

As always, the experience was a good one. From the receptionist to the doctor, everyone was polite, professional, mindful of my time, and courteous.

~ last visit was very troubling. We showed up a few minutes late and were accommodated. Then we began to wait. In total we waited about 1 1/2 hours to see Dr Thinda and we felt rushed through his appointment. We finally saw Dr Thinda and he recommended treatment for my wife. He didn't know the amount of time my wife could not breastfeed after Valium so he did a quick google search.

He left the room and came back without a definite answer. Mistake. Next we discussed the treatment with no mention of the negative affects on breastfeeding and on our son. Turns out she'd have to ween our son for a month and if she were to breastfeed it could be very detrimental to our sons development. HUGE MISTAKE. Sorry but we can't trust a doctor who doesn't know how the medicine will affect those involved. Aside from the numerous issues we had with the staff (rudeness) we will not be going back

Been a patient over 6-7 yrs seen By Dr Bertolucci, Dr Mendoza, Dr Ghajar, Dr Zulim, Dr Kinney all have been first class in clinical expertise as well as professional compassionate bedside manner. The paraprofessionals are top notch too! Thanks again. Major Mike Reisman

I've always been happy with eye Medical Center. the doctors are great and the staff is very friendly.

Saini OD and her assistant Stevie were incredibly resourceful and professional. If you expect excellent care I would refer you to them.

My 85 year old father had an eye appointment at 2:00pm. He is diabetic and asked me to check how much longer the wait will be. When I checked they said 5 or 6 people are still ahead of him. It is now 3:10pm. The front end girl had absolutely no empathy towards the issue. I feel that doctors (his is Dr. Sakauye) should have more respect for their patients.

I hope the front office help is evaluated for the issues. I get to hear others in the waiting room complaining that the wait is over an hour long. He has gotten better treatment from the VA. I wish that had been an option.

I walked into the clinic legally blind in my right eye. I walked out wishing that I could have had both eyes treated! The staff was fantastic.the surgery was perfect and I can see better with my old blind eye than my "good" one. Thanks so much Dr. Remington!

I was referred here to see a specialist regarding my papilledema. Scared, confused, and uneducated about this eye disease I was quick to be taught and set at ease by the professionals at the Eye Medical Center. From the moment I walked through the doors I was guided to the correct floor and every staff member was polite, professional, courteous and never once did I feel rushed. Dr Bertolucci was very easy going.

He was reassuring and caring. He answered all questions and gave me the hope I was looking for. He is continually checking on my progress and well being. I'm no longer scared or confused about my eye disease and know I'm in great care.

Dr. Whitten was so caring and patient with our daughter. We finally walked out of an office with answers to what was wrong with her eye. Great place and wonderful staff.

Tried to make an appointment within the week, obviously had no doctor preference given that I didn't remember the name of my doctor and they said there were no appointments with my usual doctor (information they should know through my file). They scheduled me a month out. Unsatisfied, I called later and got an appointment with a different doctor within the week. LISTEN to your patients please. I know all your doctors are qualified, I just wanted an appointment.
