LCA Pain Clinic is a specialized department of Linn County Anesthesiologists, PC. Our physicians are dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis and application of interventional techniques for the treatment of patients suffering from chronic pain. Patients referred to our hospital-based clinics often have pain that has not responded to treatments by other physicians or are seeking non-surgical pain relief. Talk with your primary health care provider to find out if this type of pain management care is appropriate for you and to receive a referral to any of our LCA Pain Clinics.
Services
All LCA Pain Clinic physicians are diplomats of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Following four years of medical school, they have completed another 3-4 years of specialty training in anesthesiology (the study of pain relief). Our physicians have all successfully completed the requirements for board certification in anesthesiology and continue to provide anesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery.
New patients to either of our clinics must be referred by a health care provider. The physician's office must call to arrange the first appointment so that information regarding a patient's prior care can be obtained. Copies of all relevant medical records and tests (especially x-rays and MRI's) should be sent prior to the visit or with the patient.
When your physician's office makes your first appointment, you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire. It is important that you complete the questionnaire as thoroughly as possible prior to your appointment. Your LCA Pain Clinic physician will spend time reviewing your questionnaire during your clinic visit.
There are a wide variety of treatment options available, depending upon the type and location of pain you are experiencing. LCA Pain Clinic physicians have special training to understand your pain and its sources, and will create a treatment plan to help address your particular situation. Every person is different, so every treatment plan is specially tailored to meet your specific needs. The treatments we provide may include oral medications, physical therapy, injections or a combination of treatment types.
