With over 12 years experience, Dr. Eisenbarth will be responsible for the management of ocular services in their Topeka location.
A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens inside your eye. Most of the time, it is caused by the changes of natural aging. Symptoms of a cataract include cloudy or blurry vision, colors seem faded, glare around headlights, poor night vision and frequent prescription changes. The only way to treat a cataract is with cataract surgery.

I have been to both the Lawrence and the Topeka offices and are always welcomed in as a friend, As if my need Be to be seen is there most important issue of the day. Dr. Hinton and staff are wonderful! The staff are so welcoming, efficient and kind. Dr. Hinton was so thorough in explaining what to expect and giving a realistic baseline for my lasik surgery. The procedure itself was quick and there were no surprises due to Dr. Hinton explaining everything so well. At my 3 month follow up I was happy to report how pleased I was with my results.
They surpassed all of my expectations! It's amazing being able to see without contacts/glasses so clearly and sharply. For anyone thinking about having it done, do it! You won't be disappointed. Best thing I have ever done for myself!

I was very pleased with my entire experience at Gentsler. Robin and all the nurses were top notch. Everything was explained in detail and done professionally. Dr. Hinton has an EXCELLENT bed-side manner. I felt 100% confident being in his care. The surgery was performed exceptionally, and I never felt nervous being under his care. I'm so happy I had lasix done at Genstler! I wish I would have done it sooner!

I had an amazing experience from start to finish at Genstler in Topeka, KS. Mainly dealt with Robin Murray and Dr. Hinton. As someone who has social anxiety, Robin (and the entire staff at Genstler) made me feel immediately comfortable and embraced and shared in my excitement about my Lasik procedure. Dr. Hinton was very straight forward and informative about the procedure, it's benefits and the possible side effects and risks which I appreciate so much and think it's really the best way to approach any kind of medical procedure.
The other staff that I interacted with from check in, pre-op and post were just as welcoming and informative. Just an all around amazing group of people. The procedure itself took about ten minutes and the "worst" of it all was some pressure while the flap was cut. I was kept in the know the entire time about what was being done and the time left which helped keep any nerves low.
I'm about a day and a half out, have had my follow up appointment (which as a major plus can be done with my regular eye doctor so I don't have to make out of town trips for each follow up) and am officially at 20/20! There was only minimal burning/stinging for me that lasted maybe four hours following the procedure and the fog/blur was pretty much gone by the time I woke up today and has all but disappeared through the day.
I have been following the drop schedule closely which was explained well and a paper was sent home with me to reference if needed. Eyes are feeling great and keeping up with the lubricating drops has kept me from having too much dryness. I'll cut it off shortly but I wanted to be sure to share just how incredible my experience was. I would absolutely recommend this crew to anyone for any procedure or optic need! Thank you, Genstler!

Had to contact multiple times just to get a response. When I finally got a response, they asked for my address so they could send paperwork for an evaluation. I gave them my address, and then waited a week. After a week, I called to ask where my packet was. They claimed they didn't have my address.and they didn't even bother to email me for it. I expect a higher degree of professionalism if I'm going to let them perform eye surgery on me. I wouldn't trust these people to get a fast food order right. There are plenty of other places in Kansas, and I'll take my business to one of THOSE places instead.

Dr. Stephen Hinton is a great eye doctor! He gave me a really thorough eye exam, with helpful feedback about the OTC eye drops I erroneously purchased. Renee at the front desk signed me in without any problems. Immediately I was ushered in by Becky for some initial screening of my glasses and medical information. Next came Dr. Hinton who began the eye exam, then came time to screen me for Glaucoma.
He explains everything to you. This was followed by the dilation of my eyes for a more in depth exam. The office (one of three locations; others are in Topeka & Manhattan) here in Lawrence, KS, is new and very nice. The bathroom was so clean, very spacious and nicely decorated - nothing over the top yet it has clean lines and I loved the floor. The Ladies room has two (2) stalls, too! For THE BEST eye care ~ these are the best doctors in Kansas!

About one year ago, I decided to go in and have a consultation just to see if I was a candidate for the surgery. That is where I met Dr. Stephen Hinton, M.D. I found out I was a candidate. How did I choose Dr. Stephen Hinton you ask? He made me feel extremely comfortable from the moment he walked in the exam room. He was honest and up front with me about what he can do and answered all of my questions and concerns!
The nursing staff was also unbelievably nice and helpful. They were honest and up front with me as well. So I went for it and I can say this was the one of the best decisions of my life. I was at a -4.75 in one eye and -4.50 in the other and now I see 20/15 in both eyes. I am not even kidding when I say it is LIFE CHANGING and Dr. Hinton was great through the entire process! Go see him/them at the Genstler Eye Center! THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. STEPHEN HINTON!

After wearing contacts/glasses for over 20 years, I finally decided to do LASIK. I worked with Dr. Hinton and his staff. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire process! All my questions were answered, concerns were addressed and they were very friendly throughout the entire process. It's been over a month now, i'm 20/15 in both eyes and haven't had any issues. Great Dr., great staff, great facility. I literally could not be any happier! Thank you all so much!

Words can not begin to express my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Hinton and the entire staff at Genstler Eye Center! I had the Lens Exchange Surgery and to say the least, it's LIFE CHANGING! Both of my eyes were in the negative teens and after surgery I now have near perfect vision! I highly recommend Dr. Hinton and the entire staff at Genstler Eye Center! You are amazing!
