I believe that patients should be an active participant in their medical care. My job is to provide them with my recommendations based on the most up to date evidence-based data. Then based on the patient's personal philosophy, the stage in their life, and previous experiences we will jointly formulate a treatment plan.

I have been seeing Christine Butterman NP. Mrs. Butterman has been very thorough in her care and to have somebody who listens and hears you, and creates action plans when you say you're not well is so appreciated beyond words. especially in the times we're living in with healthcare fatigue and staffing shortages. Also, I have a lot of anxiety an eating disorder the nurses are very accommodating of this during the intake process especially when it comes time to weight. All in all it's a 10/10 for me!

Had the worst experience here. The office is depressing and dirty. You will be kept waiting way beyond your appointment time with no apology or acknowledgement from the staff. The nurses are rude and verbally aggressive when questioned and the physicians do not care about providing quality patient care. Do not see Dr. Flowers! He does not listen to patients. I will never return to this practice.

The entire staff--from reception to nurses to phlebotomists to nurse practitioners to doctors--is committed to delivering the best results for you. I've been attending their offices for seven years and have never felt anything but care.

Never going back there. I scheduled a new patient visit for preventative care, which is fully covered by my insurance, but CFM coded it as a medical visit and I received a bill. I called their office to ask about it several times. They told me something different each time (regarding how it was coded) and to check with my insurance company. My insurance assured me the visit was coded as medical.

When I asked CFM to resubmit the visit with the proper code, they refused and argued that I didn't schedule it as new patient visit. I had literally never been there before so what other kind of visit would it be? It's a shame that some doctors' offices are sneaky and prevent patients from getting the services they deserve.

Somehow my review from a few years ago got deleted, so I will reshare my experience. The doctors here don't care about helping the patients. They have never wanted to evaluate my symptoms in any way other than give me depression meds. They have ignored my calls when I was very sick and didn't try to comfort me or help me understand my condition. Somehow they must get extra money for avoiding calling for any sort of diagnostic testing. As once I went to different doctors I have gotten care and gotten diagnoses.

Dr. Petrizio did a great job and is a solid physician - up-to-date, respectful, patient, great communicator. Unfortunately, I've never been treated so disrespectfully by a professional staff as I was here. I have 3 family members that will be finding a different provider. While the staff has a polite and warm tone up-front, evidently, that all gives way to pure rudeness at the slightest disagreement.

I was trying to get a simple explanation on a discrpency between the insurance statement and Charlottesville Family Medicine's bill. They did not seem to be accounting for the in-network plan discount and were charging me that difference. I didn't understand the explanation from the billing specialist, who was clearly getting frustrated. I was hung up on twice in rapid succession by the specialist and the officemanager. I contacted my insurance company, who confirmed that CFM was overcharging me.

I became a new patient three days ago. After over a year of never seeing an actual doctor and just NPs taking guesses at my condition at my previous office, I decided to try out CFM. The registration was quick and easy, the office was clean and on task, and most importantly, the doctors and staff there took over an hour to sit and talk with me to try and figure out what the heck was going on.

I wasn't rushed in/out in 15 minutes, the doctor was genuinely interested in me and took the time to diagnose the issue. Three days later I already feel like an entirely new person. It wasn't even that complicated of an issue, just something that took some time and questions to take a stab at and my life is already better for it.

Let's face it, with the pandemic, it is harder to interact and reach people. That includes the office of you doctor. It is even hard to reach mine, Charlottesville Family Medicine, at times. A couple of times, I had to leave a voicemail. However, I was called within 30 minutes both times. They were helpful, professional, and more to the point, they were direct in answering my questions and concerns. I am so fortunate to have them, especially during these times. Thanks guys!

I have been a patient at CFM for 15 years, which is when I moved to Charlottesville. They have continued to give good care and have great care givers. NP Janet Miller is as good if not better than an MD. I have had several chronic conditions, but they have gotten to the root cause of my issues and gotten me the right care and medications. I will continue to go here for many years to come.

I have always had a positive experience with CFM. My NP is smart and I trust her her to listen and cover all the bases. The office staff are respectful and efficient. My only issue is with the building. I was a patient at Mill Creek and dreaded the merge. Thee Berkmar office is cramped and dismal and I can't imagine it feels good to be there all day.
