I was here December 21st for knee replacement surgery Dr Jeffrey yergler and staff. Was five star s. I give my one star on my over night stay in the place on the nursing staff and employees only! you see the nurse took private information and threw it at me which wasn't none of her business and the attitude displayed by her fellow nurse. Along with the staff lady in charge of setting up your therapy on discharge. Dec 22th those couple y hours.
I don't believe anyone should have to go through those nurses and how that treatment to the older lady next door to me. My wife even heard them being disrespectful to the older lady next door to my room and couldn't believe it. Wow this needs to be addressed. It was brought up to L A initials only

Thought I had an ear infection which turned out to most likely be a chronic sinitus infection. Shooed me off telling me to take some Tylenol and charged me $360 (with Insurance) can't get a hold of them to get an itemized receipt. Just go to your family doctor at least they will take a better look at you.

How this facility can remain solvent is beyond me. Forget attempting to call your physician with questions regarding a prescription or symptoms related to COVID-19. Unfortunately in the past I have dealt with scores of hospitals & physicians involving cancer in Indianapolis & major surgery at Univ of Chicago. In each case my questions & concerns were addressed promptly & professionally.
Not so at SBC. As a facility owned by physicians, how they accept this type of administrative malfeasance is beyond me. The physicians are remarkable.the administration is clueless.

I had the WORST experience with a nurse named Lindsey she was absolutely disgusting to work with. I explained how I suffered a miscarriage recently and was ready to start my regular medication regiment and how I just was nlit in the mood for the back and forth the clinic was putting me through. She said "ok well when we stop playing the blame game maybe we can move forward" I stated how rude she was being for no reason and how I'd just like to make my appointment and move forward and she stated that I needed to calm down before I could be helped! Excuse once again how rude and I said no I'd like to just get this over with and she said that is no longer an option and hung up! How absolutely Repulsive NEVER GO HERE If you care about your health or remote good empathic care.

Unable to get the doctor's office to return my call. After 3 days of waiting, I got through on my 5th call, only to be told the doctor was too busy and to instead go to a quick clinic. Why bother having a family physician? Yet the billing department is right on harassing me on a 30 day past due bill that hasn't even gone through insurance yet to pay its portion. SB Clinic is clearly 100% about profits, 0% concerned with patient care. Go elsewhere if seeking a primary care physician.

Worst ever, they were supposed to see my husband in August, they have canceled every appointment made due to their doctor going out of town. Currently have him scheduled in January. This is ophthalmology. After an accident my husband was left almost totally blind and they can't seem to make time to see him. I have already had him seen by some else. Will never be back

Don't go to this clinic! They charged HIGHER than the average in the neighborhood. My friends and I went there once and they charged much more consultation fee than the average. I called the office several times to argue about the medical bill, but it didn't help. Not recommended, and I will never go to the clinic.

Fraudulent business practices. I specifically called and scheduled a yearly physical. Told them I didn't want anything more than that because of my high deductible insurance. Then the doctor asked me a few questions during the physical and I got the bill for $123 for an office visit. I've called three times and appealed it, asked to speak to a director, etc.
The director has yet to call me back, they're always confused about the bill, and most of them have been so rude to me. They can see that I swiftly pay the bill when I know I owe it, but refuse to even talk to me about this one. All of that during a pandemic when we're all struggling. I'm so frustrated with them. I like my doctor there, but I can see from all the reviews, and my experience, that they care nothing for our health and only for making as many charges as possible to take our money when they're not owed it.

So here we are some 10 years later and they are still the same horrible practice. I'm finding that they are discriminatory in their billing practice. Unfortunately my doctor's office merged with them so I am forced to use them for a procedure. I paid of my debt that should've never been sent to collections because I offered to pay them what I could afford in 2011, but because they want to bleed a turnip and don't really care that you are struggling to pay other bills, child care, rent, and other necessities, they don't allow good faith payments and just send you to collects.
I was called today by a very nice lady, so this is not about her, this is about the practice. She got everything set up for my appointment and then tells me that even though I've paid the debt I still have to pay the reinstatement fee. So let me get this straight, 10 years later you're still coming at me about this reinstatement fee AND you have a $50 reinstatement fee.
So if my balance sent to collections was 1500 and I have to pay 30% of that plus the $50 that's 500. Oh and they wanted my deductible upfront as well. So now you want me to come up with all of this money. I find their practice as a way to exclude people from going there or keep them from coming back if they don't have the means to pay their bills and then these ridiculous reinstatement fees. I'm thankful that my financial situation has changed, but everyone's has not.
I still think these fees is a bunch of crap, but I'm in a situation where I have no choice. But, let me point out. EXCLUSION is not a popular word right now.considering the current political climate.they might want to consider a better way to run their business practices because with all this cancellation, things can go real bad really fast for them. If I didn't have to use them, I wouldn't. My advice to anyone is to stay far away from them, unless you have unlimited cash flow.

The doctors are for the most part great, but the staff do not safely wear their masks and do not make patients wear them. It is simply not a safe environment. One check in staff argued that she shouldn't have to wear her mask over her nose because she had a couple of feet of plexiglass between her and me. This virus is airborne, we have rising infection numbers in the county and a spike in COVID hospitalizations, and their receptionists routinely are wearing masks below their noses, loose fitting ones where you can see their entire mouth through the side, and we saw patients with no mask on at all. We were able to have one appointment for my son virtually which was wonderful. Try your best to do that if at all possible!

This place is horrible. My insurance paid a big portion of a surgery I had and left me a bill of 2000. After my surgery I still had the same symptoms I had before the surgery and told them since they removed my gall bladder for nothing that I wasnt paying. They literally took me to court and sued me with 8 percent interest like a loan. Then I offered to settle for 200 dollars less than the bill and they turned me down. This is a business that cares nothing about the patient. All they want is your money!

Absolute garbage. I was told on the phone that a standard office visit would be $100, and that if additional testing was needed, I would be quoted a price before being asked to approve it. I did not have insurance when I went two years ago. They ended up charging me $255 for a doctor to see me for 5 minutes when I had the flu and a sinus infection in 2018.
After I complained about being lied to about the bill, they sent me a letter in the mail stating I am now banned from going there in the future (not that I would ever go there again). Please don't support this clinic.

STAY AWAY- I had a visit a year ago and just got the bill. South Bend Clinic forgot to submit to Anthem and now it's too late and they say I am now responsible to pay. Talked to two people in their billing department and both treated me like I did something wrong. When did it become the patients responsibility to submit to insurance. I've been a patient there for 20 years and always paid as soon as I received a bill. This is not how you keep patients. I will never go to SBC again. I'm pulling all my medical records and going to someone who know how to treat their patients.

Dr. Mohs is fantastic. The receptionist at the ENT dept is Incredibly annoying. She has so much attitude, and is always exasperated even if I'm asking a non-annoying question. This is a problem that I have seen with other receptionists at the South Bend clinic as well. They refuse to let you speak to the person you really need to, and try to handle questions themselves as if they are doctors, even when they are absolutely not qualified to do so. I don't understand why the "face of the department" is allowed to be so rude and still keep their job.

I went in to get three warts frozen, but they classified the procedure as "in-office surgery, " so instead of a bill for $35, they got to charge me $187.83. I called to have them fix the error, but they refused. The insurance agent I spoke with nearly admitted that they often pad bills and misclassify procedures so that they can claim more money. Go elsewhere; I wish I had.

The South Bend Clinic is worst place i don't suggest anyone going there either for yourself or your children i'm always getting threats from them threatening to take my daughter shes doing everything backwards and i'm doing everything right my daughter is happy and healthy so what if it takes her more time to start crawling now a days baby's walk before they crawl got people telling me all this bad stuff that kids are getting taken from there parents just because they miss one thing in there child's growth and even now people still tell me i'm not raising my kid right she has everything she needs yet they think i'm a bad mother even my mother in-law thinks i'm a bad mother her son and i both tell her that this is the 21st century back in her days things were different on raising there kids she thinks everything should be the way it was back in the old days i tell you something if shes not happy then she makes everyone else suffer with her and if she cant get her way she gets mad and starts yelling at people heck she wont even let me get one word out to Dr. Brier my daughters doctor at the south bend clinic cant even talk to him without her interfering but anyways the south bend clinic is the worst place if you go there my advice is to watch what you say to them know one can trust anyone and believe me they have called CPS on a friend of mine before and her son was taken from her all because of her son was losing to much weight but later they found out why he was losing weight and it wasn't because of him not getting enough food so she got her son back and she got him the treatment he needed and now hes a happy silly healthy 3 yr old but yeah that's just my opinion on The South Bend Clinic!

It's with a sad heart I watch an otherwise healthy 32 yr old single Mom be put through multiple Dr visits, multiple tests & blood work, multiple steroids & antibiotics only to be sent to another specialist to treat another symptom without finding the diagnosis or a viable treatment. In the meantime she's blistering on her body in her mouth losing teeth and in pain!
Do the Doctors ever meet as a team to collaborate for a solution! Every Dr she has seen is with the SB clinic. The reason the staff is so grump is because they don't get decent raises-they are unhappy! She got a call that she has to come back for another MRI Because they should have used dye-sure more time off work and more expense because her insurance is 80/20 to patient. There I feel better!

More of the typical outrageous and unethical billing practices you would expect from a hospital/clinic. Is it too much to ask for a hospital that has transparent and reasonable fees!? The South Bend Clinic performed 2 Urinalysis with two of my monthly visits and billed me all at once for $600. Just for the two tests! After doing some more research, I found that they are more than double the national average for this test.
When asked, they were completely rude, never returned my calls with an explanation, and the only thing they ever said was that there were more than one drug tested for in this Urinalysis. LIKE THAT MAKES IT OK! SHADY!

I am not at all surprised to see the other reviews listed here. I have never encountered a more inept place of business - never mind healthcare provider - in my entire life. From the moment I first visited to inquire about an IUD in April 2016 to today (August 2017) this place has been a maddening disaster. Their billing office is completely incompetent; after months and months of attempting to get them to properly bill my insurance for gynecological visits and contraception. Admittedly, it is complicated because my employer has a religious exemption and I have an ACA-mandated third-party plan to cover contraceptive services. However, as a healthcare provider, this situation should not be beyond the capabilities of the people who work for the SB Clinic. Moreover, the initial visit I had to this clinic was shocking and insulting; I should have known then to seek another healthcare provider.
When I said I was considering an IUD, Dr. Nancy Keller-Madden asked if I was married and told me that IUDs "are for married women spacing out their pregnancies" and that having more than one partner with an IUD would lead to me "getting an infection and becoming infertile"--which is scientifically inaccurate and untrue. I asked to see a different gynecologist at the practice after that visit and received my IUD without further issue. However, that is when the billing nightmare began.
Although I clearly explained the insurance situation to the nurses who took my information--and eventually the billing reps--the coding used repeatedly prevented my insurance from accepting/processing these visits--even though some of them were just routine gynecological appointments. After months and months of phone calls and attempts to liaise between SB Clinic and Aetna, I just paid SB Clinic the outstanding amount, and then began the battle to get my insurance company to reimburse me directly.
That was in February. Just this morning I received a call from a collection agency saying I owed money to the SB Clinic and that no insurance information had been listed. This ordeal has caused me a great deal of anxiety and dragged on for more than a year -- all for a few gynecological visits and a simple in-office procedure. I did not even go for my follow up visit to make sure I was healthy after the IUD was implanted because this place has been so horrible. I cannot recommend more strongly that women in the SB area go elsewhere for their healthcare.

DEAR SOUTH BEND CLINIC I wish there was a rating lower than 1 star. Do everyone within 50 miles a big favor and close this place down. I truly feel this is the last stop for some doctors who are still paying off their $ 350,000.00 med school loans and the fear of having to live in the real world makes them sit up in bed at night with anxiety worried about their boat payment and second vacation home mortgage payment.
Then there is the private school tuition for their kids and dog sitter fees. I get to an appointment 10 minutes before my scheduled time then wait an hour or MORE to me seen the wait another 15-20 minutes on an exam room So 1 1/2 hours of my life has been wasted for no good reason. Most of the doctors do not like people. They forget not only are we patients we are also CUSTOMERS!
Let me say that again CUSTOMERS! I makes no sense for a entire facility to be so bad at everything. When the lady wrote that they talk down to you she was dead on right. I stopped going there for thousands of reasons but when I mentioned I had went to the Mayo Clinic web site the doctor got visibly up set and said you should never get medical advice from the internet. NOT EVEN THE MAYO CLINIC. Doctors at South Bend Clinic are you getting the message?
Shut this place down, get a good office manager and open a private practice. If this fails the local foundries are probably hiring and then you would get real man calluses on your hands and blisters that you may have to see the doctor for. Shut Up and LISTEN to YOUR CUSTOMERS From Mr. Reality

This is the worst place for emergency medical care. We had an urgent need for stitches. We rushed there. The receptionist very reluctantly put down the magazine she was reading after I greeted her. The physician assistant that put in stitches was not wearing a white coat, but a harry black sweater. The nurse was very careful not to contaminate anything, but the physician assistant was not as careful.
