Dr. Lee and all the employees of Long Island Spine Rehabilitation made me feel that I was in safe hands. I had an injury which resulted in 4 herniated discs. The most normal tasks like using the restroom or driving were painstakingly difficult. If I felt okay one day, I would only get 50-100 feet before the pain kicked in and I had to stop. Dr. Lee was very caring and concerned with my diagnosis.
He made sure I followed his recommended treatment plan which included visits to a Physical Therapist. Today I am pain-free and back to an active life with no numbness, no pain and not an ounce of restriction.

Low back pain is an extremely common ailment and one of the top reasons individuals visit their physicians. While sometimes back pain is temporary, resulting from minor injury and healing within a few days or weeks, all too often, back pain becomes a chronic issue. Many types of doctors and other professionals are consulted about this condition - including orthopedists, chiropractors, neurosurgeons and massage therapists - but physiatrists, who are medical doctors trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation, are often the practitioners most capable of treating low back pain.

Not a comment on the Doctors or the PA's. This comment is about the staff that attends the call in both their location - East Meadow and Great Neck AND the folks at the reception desk. ZERO sympathy, empathy or care. An absolute could care less about you attitude. Subpar customer service and lack of urgency or concern. For this reason - RUN away from this practice if you don't want to hear a callous, insensitive, cruel, cold, pick a number and stand in-line attitude.
In this line of profession, regardless of the role you play, there needs to be an understanding, compassion and care. IF NOT, at the very least an empathy and understanding that should be emblematic of any decent human-being.

I appreciated their follow-up and willingness to answer questions also. A big thank you to all of them.

One of the physiatrists in this group, misdiagnosed me and could have caused further injury. He told me with certainty, that I was not a surgical candidate. Fortunately, I sought another opinion, since his treatment wasn't helping me. I wound up seeing two spinal surgeons, both of whom told me that I had compression of my spinal cord and required surgery to prevent permanent neurological injury. Surgery made me 80% better.

Dr. Jason Lipetz and his colleagues at Long Island Spine Rehabilitation Medicine are extraordinary healers of the spine. I went to see Dr. Lipetz when I was in great pain ( I was not able to stand, or walk, or lie down). In addition to being a skilled physician, Dr Lipetz has extraordinary compassion and empathy. Also, the support staff is efficient and professional.
