Dr. Wittman rocks! Very thorough (which is what you want when dealing with something as important as your eyes!) Very friendly and he makes sure you understand what he's doing before he does it. Great work! My family and I will definitely be back in the future. Thank you for being a great place to come to!

Doctors are good and I would recommend them. However, glasses purchased for over $400 are basically unwearable (without teasing toward my son) due to extremely thick lenses (though same script as previous thinner ones). We now have to go elsewhere to get new lenses put in them elsewhere for additional cost. I did mention this issue to the girl when we picked them up, but she responded in a short manner and would not discuss it. I have e-mailed them about this as well.

I had the same issues as another reviewer here with my lenses in my new glasses being extremely thick. My prescription had barely changed, and the lenses are so thick and heavy I barely wear my $450+ glasses. When I picked them up, I asked two of the techs and they seemed disinterested and said "that's just how they are." I'm not sure if I believe them now and wish I had gone elsewhere.
On another time, I went in on a Saturday to pick up a trial of contact lenses set aside for me. The two girls at the front desk weren't very helpful. I asked the one what brand the contacts were so I would know for reference, and because the contacts weren't labeled, and she shrugged. She asked the other girl but she was texting on her cell phone and didn't look up to say "I don't know." They told me to call back Monday and ask for someone else. They said "that's not what they do." I'm not sure why they wouldn't have been able to look anything up in my file. Just wasn't a very helpful experience.

If you need a routine exam for a child, check other places. this place charged $190 for a routine vision exam for 6 yrs old (child perfectly had no vision issues). business office submitted additional $38 charge for eye refractions, glasses, contact lenses and fittings which were not covered by insurance. Front office rep explained that they did it anyway despite the fact that my child did not need glasses or contact lenses and could perfectly see the bottom row on the chart/screen.

I've been going here for years and in the past few years I've had nothing but issues with them. I was tempted to change to a different eye care provider this year, but thought I'd give this location another shot. HA! I'm for sure changing this year. Last year I was chastised by Dr. Layendecker's Intern for everything she thought I was doing wrong with my contact lenses and for refusing to have my eyes dilated while in the office.
This alone made me almost switch providers immediately. I gave Dr. Layendecker another shot and thought, it was her intern and not her. I should have just went with my instincts. This year I had to make a last minute eye appointment. I was due for my yearly check up and I had an issue going on with my eye. The visit went well until I was sent to the Pharmacy to pick up some eye drops.
It would have been nice to have been warned that the little.05 oz. prescription I needed to get was going to cost me almost $150. The Pharmacist himself also didn't understand why the brand name prescribed when a generic option was available and much cheaper. Thankful the Pharmacist and his assistant were able find a coupon option with the company that took the prescription cost way down.
I had to rely on the Pharmacist to tell me this, you'd think this is something an eyecare provider or office staff would know prior to sending someone to pick up an expensive prescription. As for the second part of my experience this year, Dr. Layendecker asked me to come back after the weekend to stop in so she could make sure my eye was healing as it should.
She said she wanted to double check that everything was OK. She had her staff make a "fake" appointment for me and she advised that I could come in whenever I was done with work that day. I sat in her office for over an hour and saw her for less than 5 minutes and as charged for the visit. It would have been nice if I'd been told that this was being treated like a regular visit and it was going to cost me out of pocket.
It's horrible practice to leave a patient with unexpected charges. Had I known I was being charged for 5 minutes of her time just so she could double check my eye, I would have declined and told her I'd call if there were any issues. This was my last appointment at this office and I won't go back after this last experience. Their hold messaging is laughable talking about how they love referrals, well you can guarantee you'll never get a referral from me.

We have been going to this location for many years. Recently our insurance changed. We notified there front office of the change. We got a bill for $570 for our three children. They charged us for the $190.00 fee instead of $170.00 pay the same day. A few issues. They did not communicate in advance that we could pay $170 the same day. They did not help verify that our new insurance would still be covered at there location.
That was partially our fault so we were willing to pay the $170. However most places we have gone to typically look that up in advance to help. We discussed with there manager and they are insisting we pay the $190 even though they never shared that we could pay the same day. They are not a family friendly place, there was only one good doctor there we were willing to see and Jorgen and Schulz are neither of the good doctors at that location.

Hello - I recently needed an eye exam and was inquiring about contacts. When we were checking prices around the area for local clinics Jorgensen, Shulz & Associates Eyecare Center was one of the places we called. They provided a verbal quote of $80 via phone. The other clinics around the area were comparable so we decided to go with Jorgensen, Shulz & Associates Eyecare Center for the eye exam.
I went in February for the eye exam. We received an invoice in the amount of $150.00 from them in June saying we were 90-120 past due. I was very surprised by the amount on the invoice so I called. They charged us $45 for contacts that we never received and agreed to remove that amount from the invoice. I than inquired about the extra $25 charge for the eye exam.
The lady on the phone was very rude and said nobody in this office would have quoted you that amount for an eye exam. Since there is no way that I can prove that we were verbally quoted $80 this made me upset. I would not have went to Jorgensen, Shulz & Associates Eyecare Center if the price was $105 for the exam. The receptionist stated that multiple invoices we sent out but I did not receive any until June.
I feel like they have committed fraud and there is nothing I can do about it. They threatened to take me to collections if I did not make the payment. I have unwillingly made the $105 payment because I would like to maintain my credit but feel like this company should be reported. In hindsight I will not get service from an organization without receiving a written quote going forward but I would not recommend this Clinic to anyone.
