Going home with a newborn baby is such an exciting time. Your family will go through some big changes, which can be a little scary too. Newborn babies have many needs, such as frequent feeding and diaper changes. Babies can also have health issues that are different from older children and adults, such as diaper rash and cradle cap.
Children and adolescents are going through a time of rapid growth and change. Well visits/physical examinations are essential for many reasons, including tracking growth and developmental milestones, discussing any concerns about your child's health, and getting scheduled vaccinations to prevent serious illnesses.
Here at South River Pediatrics, we firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. We firmly believe in the safety of all vaccines. We firmly believe that all children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Some insurances will only cover one well exam every 365 days after a child turns 3 years old. If your child has already had a physical exam within the 12-month period, and your insurance does not cover another well exam, South River Pediatrics offers Sports Physicals. These physicals are an out-of-pocket expense to the parent that is not submitted to insurance with the sole purpose of clearing the patient for sports play.

I really love this practice. We moved to this area, and I picked well. The admin staff and nurses go out of their way to make your life easier. (This hasn't been my experience in previous practices I've been with of this size). They do not have random fees, for common sense items; as a parent I appreciate. Their doctors are down to earth and follow-up, which makes it feel like a more personal practice.
Though I liked all the practices doctors I visited with. Our current provider is Dr. Monee, she is awesome. I wish my child had been with them the first year of his life to make our lives easier.
