Had eye surgery a few years ago and my experience with the practitioner was so unprofessional. Not what I expected and as far as I'm concerned a failure. I asked to have follow up with another and they would not allow. So I never got my follow up and certainly was not go in a room with him. Shame on you Norwich Ophthalmology for allowing such practices allowed. I hope this review helps even one person.

I cannot recommend this facility. So disappointed with the way I was treated and the outcome of surgery. Told to keep squinting to see chart so it would look good for doc. I went for one month checkup and specifically asked to see another Dr and called ahead and made sure I was able to. Norwich Ophthalmology-is an hour drive. I went there for my scheduled appointment and was told I had to see the rude Dr that did my surgery. Very shady. Cannot recommend

Made an appointment months ago. Took time off work to take my daughter. We arrive early to do paperwork and I'm told the MD my daughter is scheduled with doesn't accept Aetna. All the other providers were booked. You think they would have scheduled with one of the MD's who takes our insurance when I made the appointment. Totally unacceptable and poor patient care!

Dr. Shah screwed up wife's simple cataract surgery, then tried to cover up what happened with lies and unnecessary tests rather than bring upfront and try correct eye damage. I understand mistakes do happen and there is always a risk with any surgery, but the lies and deceit is unexcusable. I think the guy got his medical degree from a CrackerJack box. He definitely should NOT be practicing medicine.

I had a bad experience last year on my first visit. I said nothing giving Dr. Slocumb another chance. People should know that it's a high price and low service location. Read all of these reviews. I'm not the ONLY one who is upset at the service they (DON'T) provide. An assistant brought me back to get me ready for Dr. Slocomb's arrival. His assistant was rude didn't explain (say what she was going to do) that the eye drops that was put in my eyes was going to BURN.
Then when I was shocked at the pain the assistant said (RUDLY) that this is what is expected. I told the assist that I had a recent MRI she said alright. I had a golf ball size tumor behind the left eye, It was removed successfully by a now retired YALE Surgeon a year and a half ago. BUT WHY is there still pain and ONLY on the left side? Left Eye seems to be struggling with the sight. Dr. Slocumb goes by what his assistance entered in the computer.
I was granted an MRI, Which I will probably always be granted after the HIGH RISK surgery that I survived. Dr. Slocumb comes into the room after the assistant did everything except the the pictures and distances ETC. Dr. Slocumb tells me to put my chin on the machine and my forehead on the strap bar, he used a high light source, left eye right eye then rolled back in his chair to the computer screen and said "Your eyes look good, I have the front desk print your Previous Script" WOW

Getting ready for my appointment with Dr. Shah after a bit of a delay due to COVID. With all that's been going on, I feel very safe in knowing that their office has gone over and above to protect their patients. If you're looking for a ophthalmologist please consider this very pleasant and professional group. You won't be disappointed! I credit Dr. Shah for his expertise in finding what could have been a devastating issue with my sight, no other Drs. had seen any indication of my problem! I would highly recommend the Norwich Ophthalmology Group.

Great service! I had Lasik at the Norwich office, Dr Cranmer was the best! He made me feel comfortable during the procedure and followed up with me during my recovery. He also is my son's doctor, I was afraid the office would not be good for kids by the Dr. was great so was the staff. I highly recommend them.
