I have been seeing the same doctor for over 15 yrs. I truly love this place. The staff and doctors are awesome. So, when I call to make an appointment on Tuesday I WAS taken back by the BS that I was told by the staff "your account was put on hold until you speak to billing". Mined you in all of these years I have never had an outstand bill. Then I was transferred to the voice mail box in billing twice that day.
So I requested to speak to the office manager who called me back the next morning. I was unable to make an appointment unitil I pay my outstanding balance of a WHOLE FKN $20 ($5x$5x$5x$5) $1's x20). I have never been DENIED a doctors visit for $20 usually they would collect the missed co-pay on the next visit. I'M DISGUSTUSTED WITH THIS WHOLE SITUATION.

Dr. Hunter is THE DOCTOR TO SEE! He was everything I needed during, what felt like, the scarriest day of my life. He was confident, calm, and attentive. I knew in my heart I was under the best care, with the best doctor who was making the right choices for me and my baby. If you live in the Woodbridge area, don't bother going anywhere else but About Women. Great atmosphere, great doctors, great office/adimistrative services, top knotch care.

If you are looking for a doctor that cares and wants to listen to your issues and concerns, this is not the place for you. When I got to the office for my appointment, there was only 1 other person in the waiting room and they got called in before me. When I left, there was no one in the waiting room. It just didn't seem like they were that busy to me but the doctor didn't want to spend more 10-15 minutes with me.
I was expecting to be able to discuss all my concerns, get a pap, and ask some questions since I haven't been to an gyno in about 6-7 years. I was only allowed to discuss 1 concern. I was asked to make another appointment if I wanted to discuss another issue or even get a pap. In short, they're not there to listen to or care about you. You'll need to make multiple appointments if you have multiple concerns. You're only allowed to discuss or do 1 thing per appointment.

Today is Mon, Dec 20th 2021 and I just received a first statement from About Women Obgyn for a bill for a date of service on May 28th 2018. You read that right, from 2018, almost 3 years ago. I called in to verify this bill as I haven't visited this center since my daughter was born and was told that they just updated their billing and several customers with balances under $20 will now be receiving a statement to pay.
The low statement amount is irrelevant, however, to receive a bill this late is inconvenient and should be taken as a loss by the company, not by the customer and during a pandemic where so many people are still unemployed. I will not return to this establishment with such dated billing technology.

I have been a loyal patient for 15 years. My low rating is specifically related to the poor management of a prescheduled appointment that was cancelled by your office, without advising me of the need to change. If I had not contacted your office, I would have shown up for an 8AM appointment that was cancelled. Sonya was able to help rectify this situation by updating my record and scheduling me for the same day. She also apologized on behalf of your office. Because of her customer service, she saved me from finding another provider to service me now and in the future.

First visit at the Woodbridge office and receptionist staff was incompetent and rude and unprofessional. The doctor however was very nice. I have never been to a doctors office visit first time and ever experienced such rudeness to the point I considered taking my Healthcare elsewhere. My daughter experienced the same treatment on her visit when she was pregnant. I guess I should have considered my daughter's experience before deciding to utilize this office for my health needs.

After going to About Women for over 20 years I will NEVER return! Entire staff is horrible. Nurse practitioner Laurie Carpenter sauntered in and didn't listen to a word I said. I get Pap smears and mammograms every year. She told me I didn't need a Pap smear except every 5 years now! I don't give a crap about guidelines. Every year every single doctor has said Pap smear every year.
She even flaunted the fact that all the other doctors in the practice order one every year, but she only wants it done every 5 years - like she is smarter than everyone else. This woman doesn't even care. I told her I wanted one anyway and she kept refusing. I had to convince her to give me what I needed - and I'm the one paying for it! I also needed an ultrasound to monitor something from an operation.
I brought her the op report detailing what I needed. She told me "I've never even heard of that" acting like the surgeon was stupid. I was polite but how does she get off pretending her lack of medical knowledge means I don't get the care I need? She told me she was not going to write the order and I needed to go back to the surgeon! I don't see the surgeon for follow ups AND the surgeon is far away.
This lack of concern was appalling! Fast forward to the ultrasound appt. She only wrote the order for an internal not external exam, even though I specially requested both. So the radiologist's office called to have her add an order for external exam. She REFUSED! If you want the absolute worst care and complete disregard for your health - take your chances and come to this abysmal practice. But if you want quality medical care by a staff who actually cares - go elsewhere!

I'm not a new patient but I am a returning patient. I had been a patient for over 10 years prior to my move. I returned to the area from Florida and live over an hour from the Woodbridge office. I couldn't find a good gynecologist where I was living in Florida. I came back to About Women because my physician is still there and all the doctors take good care of their ladies. I've always had issues and this visit is no exception. I'm confident he'll get me fixed up quickly! Dr. Alembik is the best!

The staff and doctors of "About Women OBGYN" have no sense of customer service or any respect for patients! I have never had such a terrible experience with any other doctor before. During my appointment with Dr. Weltman, she agreed to order refills for my prescriptions, 2 weeks later and 2 phone calls with more than 10 minutes of being on hold each time, a very rude and obnoxious nurse named Kimberly (and another nurse named Jill that was trying to cover for everyone) told me that Dr. Weltman has sent an internal note that she will not order my prescriptions, despite what she told me during my appointment! This is absurd and ridiculous.

Misty Gray hands down the BEST. She's sweet and kind. My experience with her has been incredibly comforting, she takes her time to really understand you and provide the best care. I've been to About women for over 5 years unfortunately Dr. Williams & Mrs. Jackson are longer there but were amazing when they were there. Misty would be my recommendation for anyone who wants to feel at ease and comfort. Front desk I think they really need to work on, some are rude & seem not to care.

I'm leaving this review because there were several poor reviews that I hope to "debunk". I called several times to change appointment and also was contacted to reschedule due to a Doc unavailability. Each time, the scheduler was professional. One I would even rate as friendly. I only had a long waiting time once. Maybe 8 minutes. My appointment was in Woodbridge with Stephanie Taber, FNP and her assistant (nurse?) was also named Stephanie.
There was also a tech Stacey. They were a power team. Super friendly, and kind. I would definitely seek care with them again. The front staff seemed pretty busy, but they were still professional. The girl doing checkout was really kind. Hope this helps someone else who is weary reading some of the other reviews.

If I could give this place a zero I would. Patty the office coordinator doesn't care about the patients. We have been waiting for over 3 weeks for the action on their part for my wife's c section disability paperwork to her employer. Now she has to show up to work next week because the ineptness of her and the whole department that there is no backup for her.
To me the frustrating part is if you are busy we understand that but over 3 weeks and excuse after excuse. We gone through enough trauma that we had a 27 week old premie was born. My wife now suffering through panic attacks because she is not doing her job. This is completely unacceptable and honestly this has been the worst service we have ever received in our lives

I have been coming here since 2013. I have visited both office locations and let me say that when I first starting coming here I was very happy with all experiences. I love the doctors and had great experiences. Well recently I received a call from the office saying I have a balance and they are going to send it to collections. I said well I haven't heard from you so when did you contact me instead of just threatening collections when I answer the phone.
The person said oh it looks like you were only called once in April. I said ok and I haven't received anything in the mail what address do you have she repeated a 5 year older address. I have been in the office many times since and have updated my address on those forms all times they have failed to update. So you sent out a statement twice to the wrong address that you failed to update.
She updated on the phone and then we got off the phone. I received the collection letter a week and a half after I spoke to her as they mailed it out I then called the number that it said to call 18 times over a total of 15 days and many times the voicemail was full and no one ever answered. What kind of customer service is this and how are people supposed to pay?
Well today I called 5 times and tried many different options finally someone answered I asked for the manager and she said she was the business manager. I told her all that was going on I didn't really feel like she was hearing why I was upset. It not that I have a bill of course I'm paying it it's that you sent me a collection letter after saying you called once 2 months ago, you never updated my address and then you tell us to call and no one is available to talk to for weeks and the voicemails are full.
She then said let me look into the account. She said well balances under $6 we don't call or send a statement out for, then we send statements out twice a year that's all. We wouldn't even be having this issue if my address was updated and you all took the time to call. I pulled my phone bill and it showed no one called on the date mentioned.
She was like well we send the letter out when the address was updated, she did apologize for the address not getting updated but again it's not the bill it's the customer service that lacks behind it and the office not updating information for me to receive a bill that I didn't know I have and they were not taking payments in office during Covid at that time so how do I know I have a bill of I don't have a copay?
I paid the bill but am giving a 1 due to customer service experience over a month now. Even though I like the doctors the administrative aspect will make you want to never return. Very disappointing!

On Jan. 31st I had an appointment with Dr. Abdalla, she was very polite and took the time to answer all of my questions. Dr. Abdalla believed that I had fibroids (which was later confirmed with an ultrasound) and recommended a D & C. After a few days I had not heard from the surgery scheduler, Ms. Amy Angel, so I called but was not able to leave a message because Ms. Angel's voicemail instructs patients to contact her via email so I emailed Ms. Angel on Feb. 3rd.
Shortly thereafter, Ms. Angel replied that Dr. Abdalla only has one surgery day per month and she would contact me when she knows Dr. Abdalla's next surgery date. On Feb. 12th Ms. Angel called but did not leave a message. About an hour later I called About Women and spoke with the nurse practitioner and she stated "Ms. Angel called because she was trying to schedule my procedure for Mar. 17th." After speaking with the nurse practitioner, I immediately emailed Ms. Angel again.
On Feb. 15th Ms. Angel replied: "Hello. I didn't leave you a voicemail on Friday. As I stated Dr. Abdalla has one surgery date a month. I'm waiting for the March date. As soon as I have something I will be in contact with you." Thank you, Amy After reading Ms. Angel's email I decided to find another OB/GYN clinic. I did some research and found another clinic with very good reviews, so I forwarded the records release request form to About Women on Feb. 20th to have my records released to Physicians for Women.
On Mar. 5th About Women had not released my records so I contacted the records office and the staff member I spoke with assured me that she would fax my records by 4p. On Mar. 9th my records still had not been released so I contacted the office manager, Chris. Chris was very polite and professional and faxed my medical records less than an hour after I spoke with her.
On Mar. 12th I received an email from Ms. Angel informing me that she can schedule my procedure for Apr. 28th. After this ordeal, I look forward to moving my OB/GYN care to Physicians for Women.

Don't recommend, however; if you go ask for Dr. Weltman, she's the best. I was giving the wrong medication by one of their Drs. and after my symptoms never subsided, I called back in to make another appt. I was told by my new doctor they gave me the wrong medication and she was dumbfounded the doctor never called to let me know I needed to switch medicine.
I tried a third doctor who wasn't much help either. She didn't answer my questions and left me only with more. I was told she didn't do all the proper lab work either. They're usually impossible to get in touch with and don't usually return calls. I requested a "connection" on their portal so I can receive information easily. However, they have not gotten back to me in the last 6 months. I've spent so much money in co pays going back for mistakes they've made. Not worth it. Save yourself time and money.

They billed me for the millionth time and it took forever for them to pick up the phone so I could pay. I'm telling you I called them approximately 23 times each day for 5 days with no urgency to return my calls. The doctor had awful bedside manner when I was clearly visibly uncomfortable. They are sooooo painfully rude in person and on the phone besides maybe a nurse or two. Probably won't be back.

My experience with About Women has been nothing less than terrible every visit. The receptionists are rude and Covid has only made dealing with them worse. I can admit their nurses are generally very kind, minus one of the lead nurses. There was incorrect information on a patient form that took three visits to correct. It was literally just changing a phone number.
It didn't get fixed until after they gave information about a visit to someone other than myself. And they still made the same mistake one visit after that. I've seen two providers in this office and while one was friendlier than the other, both seemed incompetent. Dr. Molly Oaten was very kind but didn't take much time to actually review my history in order to properly diagnose me.
And Dr. Jenet had a smug attitude with a horrible bedside manor. If I'm being seen because I'm in pain and desperately need answers, this is not the time to be frank with a patient you're meeting for the first time. I don't trust these providers with my health so I am seeking care elsewhere.

I give this office a 5, because the staff was very nice and I did not have to wait long! Dr. Alembik was amazing and was concerned about about issues! I felt very comfortable with him! The only thing I didn't like was the personal questions they asked about your sex and other aspects of you life! As I've never had to answer questions like that before!
At age 10 I was raped and I had to put that on there! I think some of the questions should be changed or only the the doctor can see them! People talk I don't care what they agree to sign!

After reading the countless reviews with a similar experience to mine, I now realize that I made the right decision by not going back to About Women. The administrative staff needs to be replaced or trained. Just basic courtesy to the clients can go a very long way for a business. Since my initial visit, I noticed that things have been pretty much going downhill. It's really hard to locate a GOOD ob/gyn, so I stayed because I really did not want to go through the process.
After my last visit, I realized that it was not worth it. I'm not sure who is managing the facility, but there clearly needs to be a change made in order for me to return.
