Services
Northcross Eye Associates is a full-service eyecare practice located in the heart of Lake Norman, about 20 miles north of Charlotte, North Carolina. Each year, we provide comprehensive eye health and vision care services to thousands of adults and children. We also help hundreds of children each year who suffer from vision disorders through our Pediatric Vision Clinic.
Dr. Jason Crawford is the new owner and doctor of NorthCross Eye Associates. Dr. Crawford and his wife, Dr. Summer Belk, a physical therapist, are originally from the greater Charlotte area. They both attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where they obtained their undergraduate degrees.
Not all eye exams are the same. Here at Northcross Eye Associates we provide a comprehensive eye evaluation to all of our patients that consists of two main parts - evaluation of current vision and future vision. Further testing may be required if medically necessary and in most cases is covered by your medical insurance.
A trip to any third-world country reveals just how few of the world's population have access to these wonderful devices. With the doctor's experience along with the latest in high tech diagnostic equipment, it's now possible to have the most accurate prescriptions possibe. Even patients who cannot give accurate responses during testing can be effectively managed, including young children, handicapped individuals, non-English speaking patients, as well as post-stroke patients.Once the prescription has been determined, the correct lenses must be selected.

We love this Dr. HOWEVER this office charged us an 89.00 fitting fee every year! For the same contacts no change. We have 2 eye insurances, when I call the insurance they say it's illegal to charge us for a fitting fee unless we are new to contacts. So I asked this office, and their response is; contacts are optional. so each office can charge whatever their policy states above and beyond what your insurance pays. Save 89$ and go to target or Walmart. My sister is an optician, unless you have issues, they are all the same.

I was very disappointed with length of time I was left waiting in the exam room. I had an 8:15 appt and sat in the exam room for 45 minutes before Dr. Crawford came in. No one bothered to check on me, or notify me if there was going to be a delay. I felt that was very disrespectful of my time. I asked the doctor how many patients they schedule for an 8:15 appointment time and he said only one. There's no excuse for a 45 minute wait.

Dr. Crawford and his team are the very best, not just the best eye care professionals, but some of the very best service and healthcare providers of any kind. They are professional, kind and thoughtful experts. I have a severe eye injury from my youth and depend on Dr. Crawford and his team to care for that condition and ensure that my one good eye receives the very best care possible.
For over 12 years, since moving to the area, I've always felt my eye care was managed by the best professionals anywhere. While trying to find an eye doctor who would take our new insurance I came across Northcross Eye Associates. After reading good reviews I decided to make an appointment and was able to get in very quickly. All of the staff is super friendly and I can only say good things about this office. Dr. Crawford takes his time to make sure you completely understand everything he is explaining. Would highly recommend Northcross Eye Associates to anyone.

Very friendly, courtesy, and helpful in making your eye appointment a great visit! they explain everything thoroughly and helpful in making sure you leave with a great experience. I gave Dr. Crawford a great review last year but after my experience this year I will not be going back. My daughter was back from college for only a few days and we had an appointment. I told them when we got there she would like both an eye glass exam and contact exam but I was told by the receptionist that they had no time for that because they close early on Friday's but she did have 3 months to come back without paying for another exam.
I explained she doesn't live here but was told that's their "policy." I then explained had to go across the street to pick up something and would be back by the Dr.'s exam. When I got back the same rude receptionist said I was not allowed back in the exam room to see my daughter or talk to the Dr. because she wasn't sure what room my daughter was in and she wasn't going to knock on the doors in case there were other patients.
I actually asked her " you really aren't going to let me see my daughter?" And she said "there's nothing I can do." Unbelievable! My daughter called from college today asking for her prescription and they refused to give it to her until I paid the $39 balance which was billed last week and not even due yet. I hate to change my review but the customer service is unacceptable! I would not recommend this office if you want to be treated like a client.

I will never go back here and would not recommend to anyone. I received my eye exam from one of the assistants. I think I saw an actual doctor for five minutes and he didn't say much just verified the work the assistant did. Then when I received my glasses I tried them on and the prescription on my right eye was way off to the point I was getting migraines.
I've had glasses for 15 years and never had an adjustment this bad. I told them the prescription was wrong and they tried to tell me my eyes changed and they would schedule me for a medical follow up (meaning I would have to pay for). Never go to a place that doesn't take care of their customers. They charge $5.99 to straighten out your glasses if they get bent. My old eye doctor and most places would do that happily for free. The people running this place seem more focused on making a profit than providing good customer service.

Dr Crawford is good at eye examinations. Been a client for 3+ yrs now. However he was not interested in investigating why the same exact prescription that I have in my clear lens frames, did not work in my sunglass frames. Not without an eye exam which has nothing to do with why I see with one frame, but not the other. How does one improve, if not learning from a mistake?
