I've been going here for almost 7 years and unfortunately will not be going back. I waited 25 minutes in the actual office to be seen (which was not the first time) and when I finally was seen it was a rush to get things taken care of and my questions were not answered. My voice was not heard in their rush to move on. When I checked out at the front desk I asked a question about billing and the answer I got was not what I was asking. I'm disappointed to see the direction this place has gone over the last several years.

The first thing I liked was that it was close to home. The office was very neat and clean and the receptionist was friendly. The nurse that saw me first treated me as a person not as a number to be rushed. The doctor arrived as soon as the nurse left the room and she asked about my problems. She then proceeded to examine me and gave me her opinion to my problems, and gave me a prescription. She told me that she wanted to see me in a couple of months to see how everything went. I will definitely be going back again, for I liked the whole atmosphere.

Omg this place isn't even worthy of one star! All of my docs; i.e., my internist, GI doc, OB-GYN doc are downtown at Northwestern Medicine. I recently got bit alive on my scalp and on the side of my neck by some sort of insect, mosquitoes, perhaps chigger(s). I tried all sorts of home remedies to try and reduce the swelling and redness but did not have any luck.
The bumps are very large and somewhat painful, and after one week there still was swelling, especially on my neck. I live in the Palos area, and didn't feel like driving downtown to Northwestern for insect bites, so I figured that I would give Lakeview Dermatology a try, even though they have horrible Yelp reviews. After my limited dealings with them I can see why they have horrible reviews.
First off, I called them on a Tuesday at around 4:00 pm-ish (they are open until 6:00 pm-6:30 pm on Tuesdays). The phone rang and rang. A live person never came to the phone. Finally, after about fifteen or twenty rings the voicemail came up. I had to listen to a lengthy three minute plus message with all sorts of prompts. When I was finally able to leave a message I explained what was wrong, even advised that I have health insurance.
No one ever called me back until the next day, Wednesday, at around noon. I again reiterated that I was experiencing discomfort and swelling due to having been severely bitten up by insects, and that I was hoping to see a doctor as soon as possible. Obviously my condition isn't that complex, it would take five, maybe ten minutes, for a doctor to treat and evaluate.
The woman who called me back was totally unempathetic, actually she was apathetic, like a robot, not exhibiting any degree of compassion and/or willingness to get me booked to see a doctor anytime soon. She interestingly asked me if I had health insurance, (for the record I do, extremely good health insurance), only to tell me that they have no openings with an M.D. anytime soon, that I could possibly see a physician's assistant, but they only have two physicians' assistants, and the one physician's assistant is booked until early July, and the other physician's assistant is completely booked for the week but that she might be able to see me if there is a cancellation and I could put my name on a waitlist.
A waitlist for a physician's assistant?!?! Really?!?! Now I know why they have horrible reviews. And now I know why I go to Northwestern, the creme de la creme of all healthcare facilities, not only in the City of Chicago, not only in the State of Illinois, but worldwide, for all of my medical care. Run for the hills from Lakeview Dermatology unless you want shoddy service!

The customer service is excellent and there was no waiting. This was my first time visiting and I am impressed with the professional and courteous care I received from Nurse Ruby and her assistant. My condition was quickly diagnosed and I was able to pick up a prescription that addressed the issue and received extremely important advice for on going care at home. Thank you Lakeview Dermatology for putting my mind at ease and I look forward to the next visit!

Had a great experience with all the staff I was in contact with especially Dr. Benjamin Lemelman. He and his assistant were very pleasant and patient with me as they talked me through my procedure and explained every step of the way. I would definitely keep going back and recommend that you try them out as well.

Tried to make an appointment today. They didn't bother to ask why I was calling or if there was any urgency to my issue. Just offered me an appointment for Dec 11th which is 3 weeks from now. All the while I can hear another lady in the background getting an appointment rescheduled for next week, but you ask me to wait 3 weeks. Then without an apology you say that's the best you can do and hang up. Poor customer service is the top reason you will lose my business. I'll be going somewhere else. Thank you for not wasting any more of my time.

They have a very nice new space but where am I suppose to put my coat or clothes? No hooks on the door or walls. Do I put them on the floor? Gross. Maybe sit on them? Not very comfortable. Adding some hooks would be a nice touch. I have been seeing the doctors in the practice for years. The doctors are great. I usually see Dr. Johnson. She is very kind and thorough.

Dr. Keith Lopatka is an extraordinary and compassionate physician. I have seen Dr. Lopatka for various skin disorders. He has always offered multiple treatment options based on my budget and was able to resolve all issues. Recently, I have had some cosmetic work done by him. I was pleased with the results. I would highly recommend you see Dr. Lopatka for your dermatological needs.

What a miserable man. How is he a doctor? Dr. Lopatka came in a seemed lik he would strangle a puppy. He didn't review my chart and then was talking about medicine that could react to it. He knew nothing about me lol. What a joke. I canceled all communication with that place. It's either a 90year old man or this psycho. The med assistant didn't know what sterile meant lol. I know it's hard to be seen right away with dermatology but this guy is terrible.

I would avoid this practice. I made an appointment at the last minute which was great. Was told I had an appointment with a Dr. Turns out I had an appointment with a PA. She was unable to diagnose my rash. PA said maybe a blood test would reveal if I had shingles. I refused and asked to see a doctor. Dr M diagnosed me with rosacea. Sold me a $25 bottle of non-perscrption cream which after 3 days did not help and the rash spread. I was unable to reach the doctor for two days. I was at a Walgrens and saw a PA who looked at me and said you do not have rosacea. Recommended some OTC topical cream.

Terrible! I made an appointment to discuss Botox and mole removal a month in advance and discussed my needs with the appointment scheduler. I got to the office and filled out paperwork and was called in pretty quickly. I was lead to one of the examination rooms and asked why I was there. I told her I was there to talk about Botox and mole removal.
She then told me to even discuss Botox there would be an additional charge of $104 dollars. I was not told this prior to making an appointment. I declined the discussion since I had to pay to even ASK about it and said I would discuss the mole removal. I waited for another 5 minutes and the doctor came in. He was obviously very rushed and didn't offer any type of consultation. Suggested that he had an upcoming conference where he may learn so new procedures (this Spring!) and maybe I could come back then.
He seemed very uninterested and told me there was nothing he could do for me after a two minute consultation. And that was it, he and the assistant left the room. I walked to check out and was told me copay was $65. I wouldn't typically be upset by this however I feel ripped off. I will never recommend this office and will never return. Had they been more client focused I could have been a lifelong patient-and I spend lots skin care etc.
Instead it seems as if the are more interested in nickel and diming their patients and discussing up charges only when you're committed to a $65 copay. Terrible customer service and "bed side manner". The experience moved me to write this review! I've never written a review before!

I used to see Dr. Tracee Blackburn and always had a great experience. She is no longer at this office and now Brittany Scurto is taking her appointments. I waited an hour in the office before I decided to leave. None of the staff cared that she was so late or offered to tell anyone when they would be seen. I was also never contacted about my biopsy results. I will not be going back to Lakeview Dermatology now that they no longer respect patient's time.

Horrible patient care! No follow through on treatment and medical care. My college aged son went to see them over Christmas break. He was given a script to have blood work done. He had blood drawn before Christmas and he received a call on FEBRUARY 20th that his STREP infection was still active! 2 months with no follow up from the doctor - only a call from a medical assistant who calls in an antibiotic - 2 months later. NO discussion about follow up patient care either. Unacceptable patient care - with so many dermatologists in the area, I recommend everyone pass up this dermatology practice and be CARED for somewhere else.

I dislike this office so much! I have been coming here for well over 5 years and every time I need a prescription refiled it's a nightmare. This office will say that they sent it to my pharmacy, then I will call the pharmacy and they will tell me they never got it, so then I'll call back the office and be told it was sent and that it's the pharmacy's issue and not theirs. However, it seems that this is the only place this happens with out of all of the doctors who send medications to my pharmacy.
I dislike the rude attitudes of front desk staff, and the office manager. They truly treat patients like cattle here, be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes or more for any given doctor and some times the PA, then be rushed through your appointment. I've spent so much money with this office, they must have collected over $15,000 in insurance payments, and I've spent another $5,000.00 out of pocket on various procedures.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when I called to get a refill for a regular script I get from them. They proceeded to say "we're busy now but we will do it later", then my pharmacy called me and said that they denied the request. I called back and was told by a front desk member(not a medical assistant, or doctor), that I needed to come in for an office visit since it's been since over 6 months since I was seen.
Never mind, that the script is a routine prescription that I get and won't change, never mind that I've been a patient for over 5 years here and referred numerous people to this practice. I sincerely hate this office and in a world class city like Chicago, it won't be difficult to find another dermatologist. This place never even cured my skin conditions like my Tinea Versicolor to name a few.
Please stay away from here like the plague. They are so greedy and money hungry. I stopped coming the 3 or 4 times a year that I usually did and they didn't like that so much. I got a new dermatologist in Willowbrook, IL and she is so much better, makes me wish I switched years ago. Everything from her office, to her manor, and professionalism is better.
Also stay away from the laser procedures this place will try and sell you. Lasers are a seriously expensive piece of equipment, so the doctors try and sell, sell, sell to anyone for anything to make their money back.

The best service and care available in dermatology! PA Melissa Lambert is the best! A few years back I came in from another dermatologist, the way she showed how she cared through my consultation was amazing! The staff is the best! All very pleasant and easy to talk to, you feel like you have been going there for years. My face had cleared up and I had not gone in about 2years.
Recently I went in because I started to break out again due to stress, and Ms. Lambert and her medical assistants came in and made me feel comfortable. Ms. Lambert said "Don't worry we'll make it better for you." The medical assistant showed me how to properly use my medication and again made me feel comfortable. Most of all they do everything to help the patient.
I just love it there! And recommend it all the time! Their office is very open and clean! The patient rooms were spotless! If I could give them 10 stars I would. I am happy I made the transfer to Lakeview Dermatology. I have not regretted it one bit!

This place is a complete rip-off! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! The doctors are actually nice, but the only problem is that you will not get to see them. I actually went to their office in the city where the nurses perform most procedures and are terrible. I spent almost $2K on services at this place and walked away without results and even worse, with scars! Also plan on waiting around for 45 minutes to an hour even if you have an appointment without any apologies from the staff.
