Services
Our mission as a practice is to support children and their families on their journey to becoming healthy, confident and happy adults. At NSP we believe in providing high quality, evidence-based care to all of our patients in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood disease. We recognize children are not "little adults" and they grow and develop at an amazing and varied rate through their pediatric years. Our providers strive to meet each child's individual care needs. North Shore Pediatrics values teamwork, empathy and excellence in care.
Well-child examinations are essential for monitoring your child's health, growth and development. We will perform a complete physical examination, and discuss any issues pertaining to your child's nutritional needs, sleep patterns, school progress or other concerns. We will also administer the appropriate immunizations for your child's age.
Eczema, allergies and asthma can often be related. Children can certainly develop only one of these but often will have overlap with another. During the adolescent years our patients and their parents are navigating the course from being dependent children to becoming independent young adults. North Shore Pediatrics recognizes that each child grows and develops in their own individual way and at their own pace.
Below is a summary of well-child visits at North Shore Pediatrics and the immunizations that are given at each of these appointments. At each visit you can expect a complete physical exam, an assessment of your child's growth and development, and "anticipatory guidance" regarding safety and common childhood issues. North Shore Pediatrics recognizes the following holidays and will only be open for Urgent/Emergency care on these days starting at 8:00 am.

Absolutely love Dr. Goodman and the nurses! We feel we get such personalized care when we are there. The only complaint I have, which I've seen others also complain about is the desk staff. They almost seem angry when you call like you're bothering them but it doesn't take away from my rating because we just love the pediatric care we get!

This practice has the WORST front desk staff and office staff. They are highly disrespectful with just plain nasty attitudes. Please refer to Yelp reviews as I am not the only one who feels this way. The front desk specifically (Alexandria and another whose name begins w a "T" ) have zero professionalism when dealing with parents. The office Manager is blatantly rude also and would rather dismiss you from the practice than to hold his staff accountable for their poor attitudes.
I believe the staff shortage during the pandemic has the front desk staff thinking they can speak recklessly due to job security - I also had my 3 year old almost turned away from a Covid test mid pandemic bc I didn't have a hard copy of his insurance card on me for his appointment. Imagine trying to turn away a sick child. I had been with this practice for a bit and never once met their actual pediatrician (whom I wanted to meet to explain the absolute disrespectful tone his staff showed families) instead I was always scheduled w nurses etc Last time I attempted to schedule a sick apt for my child the front staff said "if we find out you are lying you will be discharged.
Have you been exposed to Covid" lol. The proper way to go about this would be to simply ask politely if our family had recently been exposed. Yikes lol Pay attention to the negative reviews and find your self a caring pediatrician- this place is not that. Not by far Good riddance! I'd give zero stars if I could!

Medical staff very nice. But my experiences with receptionist when call in to make an appointment make me give this rating of 1 star. Honestly I'm not calling to ask for a favor nor you are doing me a favor. It's your job. You get paid with the money you charge my insurance. Should treat us with more respect. A free advice pay a customer service trainer to teach them how to make customer feel welcome. Invest in training they need it ASAP.

If I was just reviewing the doctors then I would have no complaints. The doctors are very knowledgeable and caring about their patients. However the doctors can't compensate for the front desk and financial staff that you encounter when you walk in. My daughter had a gap in insurance that I wasn't aware of and the front desk failed to inform me of this when they would charge me for visits.
I received a bill in the mail that I couldn't afford to pay and asked to be put on a payment plan so my daughter could continue to receive care. I made several payments so my daughter could go to her physicals however the staff would lie and say they did not receive payments even though I had receipts. The staff continued to call me and leave multiple voicemails threatening to cancel my daughter's upcoming appointment if I didn't pay off the whole bill.
The staff harassed me on days end leaving four or more voicemails per day. When I arrived to check in they refused to see my daughter and made a scene in front of other parents. This has occurred on multiple occasions resulting in me fighting with them for over 30 minutes to find out that they can't refuse medical care to my daughter and she ends up being seen anyways.
Recently I transferred doctors because I could not take this stress and treatment anymore. I signed paperwork for my daughter's medical records to be sent over to her new doctor's office however the staff once again refused to comply. When I called them three weeks later to see what the hold up was the staff told me I had to pay $36 for the records to be released.
I was not told this from the beginning and no one reached out to me about this. The staff member laughed on the phone after I expressed my frustration at the inconsistency and lack of knowledge the staff seems to possess. This is not the first time I've endured the staff being inappropriate and rude. After agreeing to go down there to get the records myself the staff ended up sending the records over anyways. I do not recommend the headache of dealing with the unprofessional and unfriendly staff.

First of all, let me acknowledge that Dr. Dufresne and Dr. Seman are two of the best doctors I've encountered; my kids absolutely love them. They connect with the kids. If this review were strictly about Drs. Dufresne and Seman I'd give them 15 stars - that's how good they are. But my review is based on the practice as a whole - and there's much to be desired.
This morning (Saturday) I called the office's answering service to address an issue my daughter was having. I was told a nurse would contact me within 15 minutes.30 minutes later I called back and was told they hadn't received a call. After another 30 minutes I called back and was rudely informed that they had my information and a nurse would call back once they had time to get to my issue (no embellishment - that was the language used). Were this the first time encountering this service I probably wouldn't resort to writing a review.
I'll freely admit that I'm upset with the level of service I received this morning, but this isn't the first time this answering service/office has done this. When you have a medical issue outside of normal office hours, you want the peace of mind of knowing that you (and more importantly your children) will receive the best care possible - from the answering service to the nurse to the doctor. Calling the answering service awful is being kind - the lack of care and sense of urgency is appallingly frustrating.
Should you have a medical issue I would advise that you see a doctor and steer clear of the nurse practitioners. While they are generally ok, they have misdiagnosed my daughter several times on different occasions, resulting in additional office visits/expense and illnesses progressing that otherwise wouldn't had they been properly diagnosed on the initial visit.
After my frustrating experience with North Shore Ped's answering service this morning, I've finally had enough. As good as Drs. Dufresne and Seman are, they alone cannot compensate for the many shortcomings of their office. I will seek medical treatment options for my family that are decidedly more family oriented. Again, should you decide to see Drs. Dufresne and Seman you won't be disappointed. But buyer beware, should you require anything beyond their expertise or availability prepare to be severely disappointed and frustrated.
