I had an interesting opportunity recently to engage with young adults about their healthcare concerns, needs, and wants. Throughout the conversations, those in attendance discussed their particular adventures in utilizing this doctor or that hospital, all of which provided great insight to me in planning the future for our organization, and for that I am very grateful.

My experience with the staff in the ideology building was a very negative atmosphere. They were cold and very robotish. The staff didn't seem to care about you especially the chick in staff. Lastly I thought this was America. The FDA has stated that Masks are NO LONGER REQUIRED. All of the other Wilmington Health Practices that I have been to, do NOT require masks.
This is a business that is supposed to have science and medicine behind their practice, but this location refuses to follow science and even the FDA. I do not recommend this very rude and civil right ignoring practice. I have been a patient with Wilmington health for years and have never seen such a dis concerning staff.

Two different times I scheduled an appointment one for me and one for one of my kids on a certain time and date with a scheduler at Wilmington Health only to be sent a text message with a different time and/or date. Then to be told that the IT department in Wilmington put in the incorrect time/day that they sent to me thru texts and voice mails. And one of the appointments I was sent a paper that it was a no show and the other appointment I wasted an hour and half waiting to be called only for them to tell me that I was not on the schedule for the time and day that they texted me and called me for their appointment reminders.

I had an appt with Wilmington Health Cardiology in January. It was scheduled a year ago. They have changed it four times. When I called because the most recent change didn't work for me, I was offered an appt in August. I asked to see a different doctor in the practice, since I am an established patient, but was told I was only "allowed" to see a nurse practitioner, who would decide if I could see a doctor and, if I could, who it would be.
When I said I would make the appt with the nurse practitioner, but would look for another cardiologist in the meantime, the person I was speaking to said, "I'll just cancel your appt, " and hung up on me. I should have learned my lesson a year ago when they insisted I come in person to the office to pay my share of the bill one day before my scheduled EKG.
I live an hour away, so i couldn't just pop in and take care of it. I didn't mind paying in advance, but I did mind the last minute notice and the threat to cancel the appt if I didn't do it. I liked my doctor fine, but the staff there is terrible.

I am a former cancer patient and recently, I visited Wilmington Health at 1202 Medical Center Dr. for bloodwork to make sure I didn't have too high or too low thyroid levels, which can be indicative of cancer. Because I refused to wear a mask, even though I'm a former cancer patient, which they know, I was refused service and bloodwork. People should not have to worry about having their Constitutional Rights infringed upon when they go to the doctor!
Whatever happened to "My body, My choice?" Wearing masks makes people breath their own carbon dioxide, makes it harder to breath, makes them breath their own germs, and often gives people yeast infections on their face. -Administrative staff at all locations are rude and do not care about you, they are mean, and that's on a good day! Back when I was medically uninsured, they would charge me about $150 (at least) for a doctors visit, but would tell me, if you pay it all today, you'll get a discount and pay only $100, as if it were a good deal, like everyone has $100 to $150 just lying around.
They could charge 2/3 less and still have more than enough money, but they are so greedy, they'd rather give you a very bad deal and try to convince you that it's a great one- in other words, the Midas touch in reverse. -They'll probably respond saying something like, "Oh, wearing masks protect the patients and staff and we're following CDC guidelines.
We're sorry you had a bad experience." Again, the administrative staff does not care about you. Their goal is to MAKE $$$ for Wilmington Health, period. The only good people who work there are some of the doctors, PAs, NPs, nurses, CNAs etc, and I assure you that they are not in charge, which is very unfortunate and very unfair to them. They definitely have some great, caring physicians there who have no say or power.

Wilmington Health is an over rated joke. Some of the doctor and mid levels are great. Unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. My husband was on hold for 30 minutes. He was having breathing issues and was only trying to ask about a medication. These are just recent issues. The portal messages weren't being answered. He tried for days. I am in the process of looking elsewhere.
I've left, my mother left, and many others I know of prior. They give as much regard to their patients as they do their staff. I worked there for over 9 years. I was treated horribly for the last couple of years there. Thank God I left 4 years ago. They obviously became too big for their britches. It's more about money than quality patient care or patient advocacy.
