I attended a visit to the gastroenterologist with my mother who has been experiencing the same issue(s) now for years. The previous caregiver she saw two years ago (at the same clinic) told her nothing could be done. Her pain is continuing to worsen and is affecting her day to day life, so we decided to see a different doctor to examine the situation and hopefully explore some possible treatments.
Anything to alleviate my mother's discomfort at this point. The nurse that took my mother's vitals was kind and attentive. However, when Dr. Thomas Swantkowski entered the room the atmosphere was polar opposite. He sat down, barely said hello or looked at us, and asked what the purpose of our visit was. He did not ask who I was or even bothered to introduce him to me.
My mother being elderly doesn't quite articulate what she needs to say that well, so I help speak for her sometimes - especially regarding anything medical. She asked me to explain her situation, only for him to finally ask who I was. After introducing myself as her son, I started explaining how we are here for the same issue she was seen for two years ago, only the issue has gotten much worse and that we were told nothing could be done last time.
While looking at her file, he immediately responded with "Nothing can be done." I responded with "Well, we don't like to hear that something can't be done, we'd like to explore all of our options." To which Dr. Swantkowski responded to me "Well, I don't like your attitude." I was appalled, literally too stunned to speak. He has never seen my mother in person, let alone examined her, and the information he had on file regarding the issue was from two years ago.
This lack to convey genuine concern for my mother and her pain is unacceptable and inexcusable, as well as his unprofessionalism and rudeness towards me. We will be seeking another gastroenterologist to hopefully find a solution for my mother's medical issue, or at the very least a doctor who shows compassion for their patients.

Love this place! They actually care about you and listen to you, and they call you back when they say they will! Also, they work you in if you're real sick! Lauren Chriscoe, NP is amazing, as well as Dr. Michol Stanzione. I love going to them for all my medical needs. I feel very comfortable with them both.

Dr. Michol Stanzione always greets you with a smile, remembers EVERYTHING about you that even you may have forgotten, and you can be sure she cares and will make sure you are cared for in a first class manner. SHE LISTENS! Her patients love her and she has a long waiting list to see her, with good reason. No matter the problem, she seems to have the solution or the person to help if it's not within her quiver.
Multiple times has she referred me to the right person for assistance with medical issues. She diagnoses quickly, accurately, and seems to have a seventh sense about what's wrong, with a knack for reassuring a person just from a visit with her. Before Dr. Stanzione, I had a great doctor who left Pinehurst Medical Clinic. After searching everyone available, I chose her as my primary doctor, and was lucky to join her practice before it filled up quickly.
As an osteopathic physician, she looks at the WHOLE person, considers every possible solution to a medical problem -- not just the standard "pills and surgery" approach. She is quite willing to consider help from complementary or alternative medicine practitioners who help a person.such as acupuncturists or naturopathic physicians, or chiropractors.
Her open mindedness to others who also practice "evidence based medicine" is one of her endearing traits that makes her so valuable as she seeks what is best for her patients. There is simply no better doctor at Pinehurst Medical Clinic, and I'd rate her at the top of all primary care physicians I've ever encountered. She has an outstanding nurse practitioner named Lauren Chriscoe who works closely with her, and if you can't get in quickly to see Dr. Stanzione, Lauren can be depended upon to help you as if you were with Dr. Stanzione, and consult with her as needed to make certain you get the best care. The Neese Clinic is a gem as part of Pinehurst Medical Clinic and the entire Sandhills area. Dr Stanzione CARES about you!

I had the best experience at this location, everyone was very professional, organized and personable with me as this was my first visit. Dr. Christaldi was absolutely wonderful to see, she listened to my health concerns without judgement and with full attention. She genuinely showed she cared and had interest in what I had to say. She wants to follow up with me in a about a month and really wants to help me stay on track with my health goals.
The clinic has a patient portal that she encouraged I utilize where we can message back and forth if I have any questions or concerns. Overall the clinic was very well maintained and in a beautiful area, just driving there was an experience within itself, horse ranches and country life, a nice place to get to as well :
