Very rude and unprofessional. I was told I could be accompanied by someone of my choosing to record entire exam he performed, he attempted to boot the person I chose out of the room before exam even started. I have since learned he did not record measurements he claims to have performed even though recording clearly shows he did not.

I dont think I can find the words for the absolute deplorable behavior of Harvey Manes. I was recently released from the ER at Planview Hospital and instructed to follow up with an Orthopedist. My physical state went from some discomfort to being unable to stand or walk without extreme pain and without assistance in a matter of 3 days. I found Harvey randomly by going through a list of doctors that take my insurance (BIG MISTAKE).
When I arrived my dad got a wheel chair for me to bring me in. Laurie the secretary I talked to ovee the phone handed me a clipboard to fill out paper work. Harvey came flying in going a 100mph firing off questions between the assistants, my dad & me never allowing anyone to fully finish answering a question. He came off as agitated & impatient. I didnt even know he was the doctor based on his demeanor & the fact that he was dressed like he was there to pick up his grand kids.
He never introduced himself, never asked me to come back into one of the rooms to be seen. When I tell him Im almost done & ask him can I please finish filling out the paperwork, he responds rudely by snapping at my dad saying "He should have done that", then disappears. He reappears 3 mins later with a walker, plops it down in front of my wheel chair, turns to me and says, "Ok lets see watchya got." As if Im a Tesla thats never been test driven. Im completely baffeled and proceed to tell him about my pain levels and how I can barely stand let alone walk.
He walks away from me WHILE I'M IN MID SENTENCE and tells my father very bluntly and in a rude manner that he cant help me and to take me to the ER. My dad is dumfounded & explains that we were just at the ER a few days prior and they told us to follow up with an Orthopedist. When I ask him why is he talking to my dad as if Im not even in the room.
He walks back over to me says hes talking to both of us pushes on the locks of the weel chair, walks over to the entrance of the office, opens the door and then tells my dad and I that we have to leave and then walked off! We were shocked and appalled. Both Laurie and the other young lady came over to us apologizing profusely for his bad behavior.
And I said to them judging by the way your apologizing I can tell that this is not his first time he's treated people like this. He never came back, he never once conducted an ACTUAL EXAMINATION. And I have NEVER been kicked out by ANYONE let alone a DOCTOR! AND I WAS IN A WHEEL CHAIR! I hate even calling him a doctor because that implies him deserving the respect of one.
My dad and I are still dumbfounded and enraged. He then randomly calls TWO DAYS later to apologize "IF" he was rude. He KNOWS he was rude! He was more than rude, his actions were deplorable! Please do not see this man. He shows no care for people!

When. I went. To Dr. Manes office, I was treated very well. I did not have to wait a long time to see the doctor. The staff was friendly and efficient and put me at ease immediately. When I met Dr. Manes., I noticed In addition to his expertise and knowledge, his kindness and compassion for me as a person., not just another patient. and I believe that all of these fine qualities contributed to my excellent result and rapid healing. I would without hesitation recommend Dr Manes to anyone. Charly

I've known Dr. Manes professionally, through his writing and his art collection for over a year now. I find him to be a knowledgeable and jovial individual. We've had many great communications by email and phone and in person. I honestly find him charming and I wish he'd come into the city more often! He seems to treat everybody with the same respect.
I'm sure you learn that early on as a doctor. He's also been very generous with invitations and passes to rare shows. I think he's in a wonderful time in his life and he's relishing his time with family and friends as much as the satisfaction that comes with his work. I highly recommend Dr. Manes! In my estimate, he's an excellent professional!

Me and my family have been patients of Dr Manes for over 10 years. I have always found him to be patient and caring and very professional. He has a nice clean office with state of the art equipment. He has a large physical therapy center as well. His office staff is helpful and caring. I would recommend him for any orthopedic problem you may have.

I didn't like my experience at this doctor's office. As a healthcare professional I can say they have a lot of outdated equipment. I have never seen such an old x ray machine before. I also didn't like the way Dr. Manes spoke to me. I came for a second opinion on my case and he seemed rushed (very small office there was no wait) and didn't want to address my concerns.
His assistant Dorene was wonderful and was much more helpful than the doctor. If she was the actual provider I would recommend this place. One of the worst experiences I have ever had and will not be returning.
