Kutryb Eye Institute was established by Dr. Michael Kutryb, a surgeon with the vision of providing a model of personalized care. Kutryb Eye Institute has secured a reputation for providing outstanding care while leaving patients with a reassuring, positive experience. Dr. Michael Kutryb, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has served Central Florida for over 20 years.
I have wanted to be an ophthalmologist since I was in high school. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri in a medical family my father was a popular general practitioner and my mother a registered nurse-turned-mother for me and my 6 brothers and sisters. I will always fondly remember tagging along with my father as he made rounds at the hospital and even made house-calls. I learned that being a physician is really a way of life, where your patients should always be treated like precious members of your own family.
As we progress through our 50s and 60s, the once crystal-clear lens begins to lose its transparency and gradually becomes yellow and cloudy. As the crystalline lens loses its transparency and its optical clarity, it may begin to disturb your ability to see well in dim illumination (like night driving) and may create glare or overall dim vision.
Glaucoma is called the "silent thief" because damage is painless, gradual, and almost always presents zero symptoms. It can slowly steal your eyesight without your even realizing that anything is wrong. Glaucoma is one of the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment in the United States. A simple painless eye exam can detect the disease.

As much as I hate to do this, I was left with no other recourse. Last time I went to see the eye Doctor I paid my co-pay, weeks later I received a bill from my health insurance not my eye insurance. I called the eye doctor and spoke to someone there and was told because I have diabetes and hypertension it has to go through my health insurance. I explained I do not have eye insurance through my health insurance, but that my husband has paid for us to have excellent eye insurance.
So finally the bill was fixed. I made an appointment for December 3, 2021 and prior to finishing the conversation, I told the lady that this was to be billed under my eye insurance, no problem she says, this is your co-pay. I go in to see my doctor, with no problems, just a yearly eye exam, my diabetes and hypertension is under control. I see the doctor, leave pay my co-pay and in two weeks receive a bill because once again they billed my health insurance.
I called for over 2 weeks and never received a call back, I was finally told that they only have 2 people in the office that does billing and they have been out sick, no big deal, being in the medical field I understand. I finally get in touch with someone ( Dody) in insurance and I am told because I have a medical diagnosis that it must go through my health insurance.
And this came from Doctor Smith and Dr Kutryb. I will be calling my health insurance which I no longer have and my eye insurance. If I have been told that I would have to go through my health insurance I would have never went to this facility. I will not be going back, and neither will my family! very disappointed. This is the first time in 20+ years this has happened 2 years in a row. Edit: So I just spoke with my eye insurance, I was told that yes I went in for a routine exam, nothing should have been done except check to see if prescription had changed and dilate my eyes to make sure healthy, just because I have a diagnoses of Diabetes, I was not there for that.
I was there for a ROUTINE EXAM, nothing medical! She looked on my last visit of 2020 and she see's where they billed correctly! If they were going to do a medical exam, I should have been made aware.

Rushed me through me eye appointment. I told them they wanted contacts but they didnt do the contact exam. Overcharged me for my copay, they have no idea how to bill the insurance properly, or to look up insurance information. DO NOT GO HERE until they change their front office staff and get people who are competent.

The Doctors and staff at Kutryb Eye and the Center for Surgical Excellence are everything, and more than you want when dealing with something as serious as your eyesight. I needed eye surgeries, and I could not be more pleased with the results than I am. EVERYBODY, Dr Kutryb (the surgeon), Dr Deballi (the anesthesiologist), Dr. Smith, Clinton, Amanda, Vince, Nicole, Laura, Katelyn, Jamie, and others I met, were all so very professional and friendly and (most importantly, at least to me), very reassuring. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Had my yearly eye check-up and received the usual top notch service. Dr. Kutryb is always very thorough with exams and a very caring doctor. He performed cataract surgery on both my Mom and Sister with excellent outcomes. If you have any concern with your eye health, this is the doctor to see. Thank you Dr. Kutryb for taking such good care of my entire family.

I asked the receptionist a few simple questions & she was very rude with her responses. I paid my co-pay & she never bothered to make my follow up appointment. She acted irritated & aggravated every time she opened her mouth her responses were hateful at best. Doctor & other employees were friendly & kind. Receptionist needs to find a new job were she doesn't work with the public because of her hateful attitude.

I had been diagnosed with narrow angle closure from a different eye doctor. I tried to get in quickly as it was an emergency. Dr. Kutryb squeezed me into his already packed surgery schedule that day and took such good care of me giving me a simple procedure called an iradotomy. He literally saved me from an attack and blindness as I was just days away from that.
I am ever so grateful to Dr. Kutryb and his amazing staff. As hard as he works he stayed after hours with other staff to make sure I was well taken care of. Dr. Kutryb is an outstanding Doctor with a really great staff who really cares.
