Varsity Orthopedics is a physician practice that specializes in pediatric orthopedics and the specific needs of children. We care for kids, teenagers and young adults who have suffered sports-related injuries, fractures and growth-related bone disorders. Pediatric orthopedic surgeons specialize in treating kids and teenagers. It is important to understand that kids and teenagers are not just small adults. Therefore, treating illness and injury in children requires a different approach, because their bones and joints are younger and not fully developed.

It is crucial to understand that kids and teens have growth plates in their bones. These growth plates act as seams that enable bones to lengthen as the child grows taller. If an injury is treated incorrectly, this can have an effect on growth plates and the final outcome of a child's growth post-injury.
Words will never be enough to express how amazing Dr. Christine Quatro has been to my son and our whole family. Nicholas was diagnosed with Blount's Disease at the age of 14. As he grew taller, his right leg bowed out more and more. He was literally running on the top part of his foot. High school was especially hard on Nick.
According to the NCAA, there are eight million students currently participating in high school athletics in the United States. Teenagers are more likely to suffer an injury than younger children because as athletes continue to grow in size and strength, the more force and potential for harm and injury can occur.

Waited for 2 hours. Wasn't told I had to pay for all x-rays that day until AFTER the x-rays were taken. Had I known that I would be expected to pay hundreds of dollars the same day, for the x-rays BEFORE they were taken, I would have rescheduled the appointment since I didn't have a lot of extra money at the time. My daughter was there for her hurt foot, and in addition to the foot x-rays, they also took x-rays of her arm from a 4 year old injury that wasn't part of the appointment(the only reason I even knew about this was because my daughter walked back to the room with a weird look on her face and asked me why they needed x-rays of her arm).
I wasn't asked if they could take x-rays of her arm or anything.if asked, I obviously would have said no because 1-it is not relative to today's appointment and her arm has been perfect for the past 4 years, so there is no need, and 2- I couldn't afford to pay for it that day(which of course I didn't even know about until AFTER all of the x-rays were taken).
I had no idea that I was expected to pay hundreds of dollars the same day of the appointment! When I checked in, they didn't give me a heads up about potential charges that would be due THAT DAY, upon check out, they didn't offer a payment plan option or anything(and yes, that was apparently after what my insurance covered. I will be waiting to see that EOB for sure). terrible customer service. The lady who checks patients in and out wasn't very pleasant and was rude to her co-worker: the sweet little nurse who works there.

Pros: Doctor was knowledgable and helpful, she listened to both my child's concerns and my concerns. X-ray tech was very kind, patient and helpful. Directions to be prepared for first appointment were good. Setting appointment was easy and flexible. Cons: Wait time was 45 minutes, slightly long, but manageable. When setting the appointment I was told all patients are required to wear a mask, but 90% of the staff did not have a mask on, not even the person that said the mask was required had one on.
Other patients were also not wearing masks. They NEVER reply to any emails or texts I send the front office and I think this is just poor administration, it's so simple to just reply. Email and texts are the easiest form of communication and they make NO effort to reply, not even a simple question like, when is my next appointment time. At the end of each appointment you go to a small office to check out and get any notes for school; she was the most unfriendly person I have encountered in the health care field.
She kept directing all of her questions to my autistic son, never giving me eye contact and basically ignoring me. If your child is disabled and slightly non-communicative and under 18 years old, talk to the parent and give eye contact, we have the answers. Overall if you can ignore the administrative issues at this location, lack of modern day communication, slightly longer wait times; then I would recommend them, based on the doctor and x-ray tech, but I prefer a more smoothly run medical office, the administrative team is lacking.

DR. Kjeldgaard is a Christian doctor that cares for and about his patients. He is very concerned about his patients and the results of the surgery. He did back surgery on me a few weeks ago and I am totally pain free now. His staff is always friendly and considerate. Also, he is timely with his appointments.

Wait times were horrendous! Hours later! She rushed putting a cast on my child. When I brought my child in and said it hurt, she begrudgingly said she would have to remove the cast. Of course I said yes, knowing my child could have a wound. My child did and it had to be treated. Left a scar. She was in such a hurry. I left and told another nurse that it was the worst cast I'd seen. Then later this problem.

What's the point of making an appointment when the doctor won't honor my appointment time? Been waiting for over an hour already and no doctor in sight! I have to show up on time or they will charge me but they certainly do not have to see you at your appointment time. They didn't do temperature checks or control how many people are in the office, so I'm pretty sure they aren't concerned one bit about covid.
They over schedule every time we come here. I DO NOT recommend this place unless you mind waiting for a really long time with no explanation as to what's going on. If I could give zero stars, that's what they'd get. Totally unprofessional. Don't waste your time with this office.

My 5-year-old is currently recovering from her second consecutive forearm fracture, and so far Dr. Quattro has been wonderful! The front office staff is always super polite and organized. Throughout the pandemic, they have done a great job at keeping the place clean, and they've also been taking social distancing and mask-wearing very seriously. My daughter and I have been very comfortable coming here and always receive clear instructions and updates to progressively move forward with her recovery. Thanks Dr.!

We really enjoyed Dr. Quarto. Her office managed to get us in the same day of calling to make an appointment, & we had surgery scheduled within 3 days. The break was taken care of in such a fast manner, & healed perfectly. We would recommend her for any child, She is definitely on top of what she does!

Dr. Quatro is an excellent doctor. With three children in sports, we have had multiple visits with her. Each time, I am impressed with her ability to connect with my child, explaining everything as she goes. She is knowledgeable and skilled. I trust her abilities and value her compassion for her patients.

The doctor and X-ray technician are pleasant. The office staff is another story. The nurse is forgetful and frustrating. She doesn't have anything prepared when she goes into a room and is still running around doing things like a chicken with her head cut off when patients are ready. She came in talking about another patient and confusing us with someone else.
The actions of this office do not give me a great level of confidence with this office. Each time I've been here I was here for an average of 3+ hours (last time closer to 4, this visit is still in progress after an hour in the waiting room they moved us to another room to wait some more). We spend on average 45 minutes to an hour in waiting room, then intake, then x-rays, then more waiting.
I would caution to just plan to spend half your day here and don't have anything scheduled for hours after this appointment. Also if you bring up the wait they get testy with you and give excuses. I told them I had another appointment I needed to go to and ended up missing that appointment due to the wait at every step of the process. I don't think there is any acknowledgement to lead to correction of the problem which has been brought up by multiple reviewers here (they just respond to the good reviews).
Also the doctor said the brace was inexpensive and the second nurse would talk to us about price. Instead he came in a rush cutting up and fitting the brace without discussing costs so I had no option but to buy the brace which was not inexpensive, understanding that's a subjective term, but they should confirm you can buy it before modifying the equipment and leaving no option.
