I initially called inquiring about a hair transplant procedure and during that consult I was prescribed a once daily pill to help mitigate my hair loss. I can confidently say this recommendation has significantly reduced my overall hair loss and slowed the regression of my hairline. Excellent recommendation and results.

Dr. McGrath is amazing. I had looked at several hair transplant practices in Texas. Dr. McGrath and McGrath Medical really stood out. They have a large portfolio of great results, they offer cutting edge medical therapy and Dr. McGrath is exceptionally trained and qualified. Dr. McGrath's consultant Steve made me feel at ease right away and gave me all of my options with no pressure and after I met with Dr. McGrath I knew I was in the right hands. 14 months later I have my hair back and it looks amazing! I just should have done this sooner!

Please read the first review as this is the second half that includes during and post surgery -The Ultimate Haircut The only pain I felt during the surgery was when the numbing agent was applied to my scalp. After that, I didn't experience any pain during or after the surgery (rather shocked). It was a team effort to remove and professionally place the hair grafts properly with the corrected direction for them to grow out naturally. Dr. McGrath did the bulk work of the sensitive process.

Because it's exhausting work, Dr. Dodge and him would tag team. I didn't notice a difference between their efforts. At first, we weren't going to transfer any hairs to my crown but Dr. McGrath and his staff could tell I really wanted to close out my bald spot. To my surprise, they went ahead and added hairs to my crown and I later found out after surgery that they went so far as to add 200 hair grafts at no expense (2700 total)!

It was professionally executed and I have zero complaints. The staff of assistants then secured the hairs and ensured its integrity. Everyone exceeded the standards of my expectations and I couldn't be happier, plus it was painless! I am very happy that I bought the recovery kit even though it was $300.00. I was on the fence on getting it but decided I would go with the process and I'm lucky I did.

I can't imagine adding Neosporin or a healing gel to my scalp. Please do not cheap out like I almost did. The spray bottles are effective and you can't buy them from the seller (I tried). My scalp healed within 8 days but I stayed on course with the healing outline provided. -Botched? At first my hairline looked amazing and I couldn't believe the transformation but one by one all the hairs fell out and I began panicking.

I called Dr. McGraths office and expressed my concerns. I was reassured that this was a part of the process and that it would be ok. After a while, none of the hairs grew back and I began emailing Ms. Bianca who handled the situation with the utmost care and reassured me that it would take some time for them to regrow. She was right! Fast forward to today and I have a little jungle forming.

Every morning I rush to the mirror and count the new little guys that start sprouting. It feels like Christmas in the spring. I will update this post with better pictures as soon as the new hairs are to length (30-60 days from now). UPDATE: month 4 pictures (Image 4+ 5) - ADDED month 6 (image 6+7) I am extremely happy to share my story with anyone who reads this and I hope this testimony helps you decide if hair restoration is right for you. It will take time to see results but results you'll see!

Due to progressive hair loss and less than perfect results from another surgeon, I had a large gap between my hairline and the rest of my transplanted hair. I've included photos so you can see for yourself. This looked unnatural and awkward. The exact opposite of what you hope to achieve from a hair transplant. I resigned to wearing a hat again and wasn't sure how long I'd be stuck like this.

I needed a relatively small number of grafts to fix it. Several other surgeons didn't want to bother helping me or wanted to charge me a high minimum fee. Furthermore my donor area was in bad shape and they didn't want to do the hard work of finding viable grafts. A friend received great results from Dr. McGrath so I contacted his office.

At this point in my hair restoration journey I've been to a handful of different hair transplant doctors worldwide and I can say easily the entire team at McGrath medical provided the most compassionate and artistically superior result of them all. From the beginning his consultant Steve carefully reviewed my needs. It was more like talking to a friend than an employee.

He understood exactly what I was going through and even offered alternative strategies to fill in the gap in case it wasn't convenient for me to fly into Austin to see Dr. McGrath (from California). But after seeing my friend's results and talking to both he and Dr. McGrath I knew I needed to prioritize finding the best Dr. Not the one who was closest to me.

Another issue I had with other Dr.'s is they didn't seem able to spare even 5 minutes to listen to my concerns and what I hoped to achieve. Both via video consultation and in person Dr. M reassured me we'd take as long as necessary until we both had the same understanding of what I wanted to achieve and how it would be done. In addition the price was very reasonable.

The day of surgery went very smooth. Through skill and artistry he extracted 1,500 grafts and filled in all the gaps. I felt no pain and was out of there quickly. The hard wait of several months for the hair to grow passed and I am now thrilled with the result. My hairline looks totally natural. No gap and no signs of having a hair transplant at all. When you go to Dr. McGrath you not only are getting work done by an artist but by a physician with the highest level of ethics. Highly recommended.

McGrath is the man! They were upfront and honest about the entire experience. I am 11 months post op and I could not be happier with my results. I have had at least 10 people ask me where I went so they can pay Dan a visit as well. Losing hair at a young age is a bad feeling and talk about a confidence boost! 10/10 recommend - best decision I have ever made.

I cant say enough about this team. I spoke with Steve Cook first who literally answered all my questions even before committing with them. I remember calling and texting him and he always got back to me. When I met Dr Mcgrath it was the same. If you research ht he is one of the best, literally a veteran in this community and his results speak for themselves.

Everything about this experience was amazing, from the front office, to the techs, and Dr mcgrath! If you are on the fence I would highly recommend at least setting up the consult with them!

I had hair transplant surgery about 7 months ago and couldn't be happier about the results so far! Steve Cook was so helpful about all the questions I had pre operation. He truly cares about his patients! Dr. McGrath is the best doctor in Texas. His team was very polite and professional. The surgery was a painless procedure and I even caught myself falling asleep during the surgery.

The team was super helpful post op and called to check up on me. My twin brother had the same surgery done about 6 years ago with Dr. McGrath. I will definitely be going to McGrath Medical if I ever need a second surgery. Best decision I ever made.

I would not recommend Skin Envy/Mcgrath Medical in Austin Tx. I received a Prp treatment here for hair restoration. I was told that I would only need one treatment and the cost was $3500. After finding myself unhappy with the lack of results and zero replys to my messages and phone calls, I decided to further my research. In doing so I consulted with 3 different doctors, all who provided me with honest, substantial information.

At all three locations I was told a series of THREE treatments are recommended for Prp hair restoration. The price I was quoted at all three places was $1200 for a package of FOUR treatments! I do not appreciate the false information I received and I also do not appreciate being taken advantage of. I recommend doing a vast research prior to accepting outrageous, unethical treatment plans.

Visiting Dr. McGrath's office is always a great experience. I have never met a doctor who cares about their patients as much as Dr. McGrath and his assistant Irene. From day one of meeting him I knew he was the doctor for me. He is so knowledgeable, caring and professional as is his staff. I wish I found Dr. McGrath a long time ago versus going to the other doctors that had false promises for me. If you want results I highly recommend Dr. Magrath.

I have spent approximately a year working with Steve Cook and Dr. McGrath. I started losing my hair around age 25. Even as a physician I didn't know that much about hair loss. So, I started using oral medications (Propecia) with side effects. Steve suggested I try topical finasteride and we had communicated on a regular basis until a 6 month follow up. Unfortunately, I didn't respond much.

I continued to talk with Steve on a regular basis. He gave me his personal number and we continued to work through what the next step would be. They weren't sure if I was a candidate for a hair transplant based off of skype and photos 6 months after we started talking; therefore, I met a surgeon closer to me who they recommended. Ultimately, I had a procedure through this surgeon (because of my how busy my practice is and the distance I am from Texas), but I couldn't have done it without Steve Cook.

He would respond in a timely fashion and would even respond to me on the weekends. He would look at my photos and genuinely cared if I would be a candidate. He even consulted one of his mentors and shared my photos and story to see what the best procedure (FUT vs FUE) would be for me. He was never pushing a hair transplant on me. Honestly, he will tell you if you aren't a candidate and won't sugar coat anything.

He truly cares about hair loss and the stress, anxiety, etc that it brings for most men whom it affects, especially early in life. A hair transplant is a huge step and he made it MUCH easier. There is a lot of misinformation on the internet and he is honestly one of or the best resources readily available for men contemplating hair restoration surgery.

Please do yourself a favor and talk to him before you have any procedure done. He empathizes and again I can't stress how much easier he made this whole process. Thank you Steve and Dr. McGrath.

It has been one year since I have my FUE procedure, and couldn't be happier. I researched a few other places before making the commitment and decision to go with McGrath, and am so glad I did. Joan Rivers, rest her soul, has a personal motto. "better a new face coming out of an old car than an old face coming out of a new car. Spend your money on you." I turned 34 this year and was getting married.

I knew I had receding hair, thin hair, and had "settled" with my look until I woke up one morning and looked in the mirror and wasn't happy with how my hair was progressing. Some men look great balding and can totally pull it off. I was unfortunately looking like a thumb, so I started researching options and treatments. They have a treatment where you inject your own plasma into your scalp, wear a hat with small red lights, even a 2D micro blading technique.

Some of these options were significantly cheaper, but The results of the FUE were so much more dramatic and promising. I had the surgery a year ago, and it wasn't too bad. It's about 6 hours or so, but feels like 45 minutes with the meds you get (haha). You are given a 10 day supply of antibiotics and creams with an instruction packet of when/what to take, when to wash your hair, and when you can wear a hat or beanie.

One of the other benefits of this procedure is that there is no scarring. (Yes the first couple days the back of your head looks scabbed and gross from where the air follicles were pulled out, but literally day 4 this wasn't noticeable) No line scar in the back of your head where it will stand out for life, and my barber always comments when she does a razor bald fade on the back of my head how she can't tell I had surgery a year ago.

Of course if you have longer hair, it looks even thicker, but I like to wear my hair shorter. A year ago, I questioned the cost vs benefit for this, and am SO glad I went through with it. I no longer look at my hairline whenever I see a picture of me, and get comments by friends and family about how my hair looks good. Dr McGrath also hand picks the follicles and transplants them manually (you cant feel this).

Some facilities use a machine that was a little cheaper (not by much), but Dr McGrath is different than a machine because he actually inspects each follicle to determine if it is a good transplant candidate or not, and also places your hairline in a more natural way compared to a machine and assistant (that may or may not have the experience he has). Long review, but overall worth every cent.

Great experience! After a ton of research, I chose Dr McGrath for my transplant, as he is one of the best in the country. The results are amazing after 9 months and I can't believe I waited so long to make the move. It is crazy looking at my "before" pictures, as I always thought the thin hair I had on top was providing some cover. My mind was playing tricks on me! Steve and Dr McGrath are straight shooters and were truthful about everything, unlike most of the other commercialized high pressure outfits.

They openly told me what I needed and what I didn't, even if they earned less money. The staff was great and they made a stressful experience easy. I was hesitant / scared going in, but am very pleased.

Amazing staff. Steve and Irene were wonderful. Every doubt I had was laid to rest prior to my procedure. Not my first time going through this but my best experience thus far. I slept comfortably through most of the procedure. Staff was incredibly caring and knowledgeable. As a practicing physician my expectations were high and they surpassed them!

This is by far one of the best Dr.s Offices to work with over the phone and in person. Irene is one of the kindest and most thorough people to have dealings with and she is very attentive to all of her patients and all of the health care providers she works with! By far one of the smoothest service experience and overall experiences. Great local people and great service!

I went in and spoke to Steve who is excellent and so knowledgeable. I called him numerous times and he always had time for me. He is a customer service guy! I had my procedure and I could not be more happy and satisfied. The procedure was not painful at all and Dr. McGrath was great and had a genuine concern with how I felt about the results. From the very beginning they said if I was not happy let them know and they would do whatever it took to make me a satisfied customer.

Too bad McGrath Cosmetics doesn't take the same view with their patients. Do not get mixed up as they may be in the same building they are not both run by Dr. McGrath are I guarantee he would have done something to make my expensive visit to the spa satisfactory. DON MEZA

I went to see Dr. McGrath about hair transplant surgery. I had already consulted with two other doctors but Dr. McGrath was the only one who really understood what I wanted and put me at ease about the process and results. I had the transplants done two months ago and am excited with the preliminary results. New hair is starting to grow in and it looks very natural.

Recovery time was minimal and I was back to work in 2 days. I went back and had the ACell + PRP injections done two weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing the results of that procedure too. Dr. McGrath and his staff are great. I highly recommend McGrath Medical.
