Do not go here for contact lens fittings. I started going for dry eye treatment in 2013 or so, and Dr. Swanson is great. The contact lens people (Claire and Steve) are not. I bounced between the two of them for years, with one insisting on a brand/RX to help with dry eye -- and then the other saying what I was in was so wrong, and that a MyDay brand would be the solution and clear up dry eye.
Since they don't file vision insurance and don't take AMEX (only CC I have), and you end up waiting there for a good 2-4 hours for appointments, I decided to go elsewhere for my annual contact lens RX appointments. After going to a horrible place (MyEyeDr), I switched to Dr. David Meltzer at Presbyterian who figured out two things about my contacts, when I complained that I feel like I can see but it's blurry and my favorite part of the day is taking contacts out: 1) IMPROPER FIT: MyDay doesn't come in a base curve that matches my "flat corneas" and immediately after taking my measurements, they hypothesized that a different base curve/brand would be the solution -- and they were right! 2) OVERCORRECTED VISION: I've been in a -2.25 R eye for years and it should be -2, we discovered! Dr. Meltzer gave me 1-day Acuvue Moist in the proper base curve and RX and so far, so good!
I don't feel them when they're in, and, I CAN SEE without a problem. He said that the dry eye experience could have been caused by the improper (tight) fit, putting a small round contact over a flat corneal surface. I can't believe I've been wearing the wrong RX and fit for so long! I'll only go back if god forbid, I have a serious issue requiring the expertise of Dr. Swanson, but otherwise, this place is a big NO for me.

Just came from their office and waited one hour and fifteen minutes and never saw the doctor. Told me they were going to put me in another room to see her but then said there was no room available so I had to go back in the waiting room. I walked out! The assistant acted like she didn't care and barely apologized. Had I stayed I would have been there for hours getting eyes dilated etc. they charge you $25 for cancelling! How about I charge you for my time! If you were in corporate America you wouldn't last a day! Disrespectful!

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, they just can't seem to come up with an efficient system to manage appointments. You arrive here for what is supposed to be a 15-20 minute appointment and it takes over an hour for the doctor to even see you. Currently sitting here waiting to be seen by the doctor and I've been here for exactly one hour at this point.
This is completely unprofessional and disrespectful of my time and other commitments. And this has happened several times when I've come here. My longest wait time was 2.5 hours just to be seen by the doctor. The doctor herself seems knowledgeable and very educated but the lack of respect for time commitments and appointments is just unacceptable. I really encourage this office to work on improving their wait time.

Dr. Swanson has been an excellent doctor for me for 5+ years. And given her caring empathetic manner, I encouraged my mother to see her as well, after my mom had had a stressful experience with another practice. With Dr. Swanson, my mother experienced not only relief from worry about seeing the eye doctor, but also improved vision given Dr. Swanson's care for her specific needs.

Do not get an ILUX treatment from this office. I had one that didn't work and called the tech about my dry eyes. She handed the phone to someone who didn't even read what drops the doctor had recommended. She made me an appointment with Dr. Swanson for Nov. 18. When I got there today, the receptionist said that I didn't have an appointment and was very rude to me.
She did say I could wait but didn't know how long it would be. I left the office in tears. I am so sorry that Dr. Hawk is retiring. He is such a kind man. I have been going there for decades and have never had encounters with such a rude person.

I would highly recommend avoiding this practice. First of all, I received a call one week out from my appointment saying that my doctor had cancelled. Once I was rescheduled and arrived for my appointment, I had multiple nurses coming into my exam room during my annual eye exam asking questions and were confused with who was supposed to go where. I discussed my eye problems with almost three nurses across my ~30 minute appointment.
Last but definitely not least, Dr. Hawk came in, and as I highlighted my issues, he said that he had "never heard of that sh*t" before. Well, that was a first from a licensed medical professional. Afterwards, due to an insurance miscommunication, the billing team charged me a massive amount for my appointment and provided no flexibility on payment.
It was nearly impossible to get in touch with Lisa from billing and she was rude throughout almost every conversation. Would highly highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. I mean look at the rest of these reviews, this place should be ashamed of the way they do business in the Dallas area.

Always treated well by the entire staff. Dr. Hawk has a great rapport with his clients. I was wondering about their COVID19 protocol but they had everything worked out perfectly they even thought to do extras to insure client and staff health. I appreciate their thoughtfulness in this time of this pandemic.

I have to update this review. I still think Dr Swanson is a competent doctor, but going to this office is literally a 2 hour affair every time I go. You arrive on time, sit in the waiting room for sometimes 30 minutes, then get ushered to the back to another waiting room for another 30 minutes, then see an assistant for a quick exam in an open hallway area, then sit back down, then wait some more, then go in exam room, then have an assistant with no sense of humor test your vision, then you see Swanson for about 5 minutes. I still go here though, because she specializes in dry eyes.

Would never go back. Asked very clearly on my first visit for eye exam that in addition to prescription I wanted my Pupil Distance. Had a slew of different techs come in to do different things. Never got the PD. Asked about it on the way out and was told so sorry, "your eyes have been dilated you can wait here but it will be a few hours." Made an appointment to come back next day. Waited 40 minutes the next day until I was called in for my 10:30 appointment.
Then same tech from day before tells me it's best that I go to the place downstairs as " they have the best machine to do the PD" They ended up calling LensCrafters who had the info from my last purchase, which was a 2 minute call. I could have done that without all the hassle.

Worst experience with a physician in my entire life. Dr Fagadau is my mother's doctor. My mother has been several times - each time she has had to wait over 1 hr, and several times she has had to wait 2 hrs+. I have to take vacation days from work to accompany my mom bc visits to this office take so long! Additionally, the absolute arrogance and obvious lack of interest of the doctor is astounding.
He was in the appointment with us for no more than 90 seconds. He started opening the door to leave as I was asking my very first question, and he continued walking out the door as he answered my question. I had to forcefully tell him I needed to ask him questions to get him to stay and answer them, and even then, I only got 30 seconds or so out of him.
The man obviously does not care one bit about his patients - he runs from appt to appt, as fast as he can, to maximize his pay, not patient care. I highly recommend you go elsewhere - run for the hills. Dr Fagadeu is the worst physician experience one can have.

I had the worst experience I've ever had with Dr. Fagadau. I have to go there three or four times and the wait time was it least two hours each time. The technician was showing me how to use Contacts and left one in my eye and I had the most pain I've ever experienced in my life. I had to have a prescription but he gave me the cost $200 and another prescription it was $36.
He is arrogant not sympathetic not kind sympathetic for the pain I was experiencing. He has the most arrogant attitude and terrible bedside manner I've ever experienced. I just turned 70 and I went to Key Whitman and had cataract surgery and lenses put in them for the first time since I was 40 I can see without glasses.

My mom has transferred to a different ophthalmologist because Dr. Swanson's office is SO untimely. The wait time for your SCHEDULED appointment can be anywhere from 1-1.5 hours! In addition, my mom's dry eye condition has not gotten better after trying various eye drop prescriptions that Dr. Swanson has prescribed over the course of three months. We're frustrated with the patient care at this office so we will go seek treatment elsewhere.

This is a good team of doctors. However, be prepared to give 2 1/2-3 hours of time from the times you get to their office and when you leave their office. I have been coming her for 33 years and the long times have been this way for the last half a dozen years or more. Their staff is always professional and helpful.

Stella at the front desk check in is awesome. She has a million dollar smile. Stella is always cheerful and welcoming. She is really friendly and helpful I look forward to visiting Dr Swanson because Stella is there, she always lifts my spirits after the horrendous drive from Plano. Stella has a calming personality. Stella could give some training to some of the techs. Stella your an asset to the practice keep up the great work. Patricia BK

Dr Swanson seems to be a very caring and competent doctor, but her office is disorganized and a joke. I sat for over 2 hours before I saw her the first time. For my follow up visit with the lasik surgeon I scheduled it first thing in the morning and still sat for over 40 minutes. I won't be going back and if you want to visit this office plan for at least 2 hours or more for your visit.

First the good: Dr. Swanson has really helped my dry eye which was previously misdiagnosed as a vision problem. That's it. This place regularly will up sell testing that is unnecessary and will not inform you it isn't covered by insurance until it's time to pay. I have gotten to the point I ask now. I have waited 45 mins to be seen for my initial contact (not after dilation etc) despite the fact I've arrived on time.
Some of the techs can be abrupt and rude. I had a very unpleasant call with one where she basically invalidated my concerns. My need to manage a chronic eye condition may be the only reason I return.

Dr. Hawk and everyone here are friendly, professional, and provide excellent eye care. Dr. Hawk performed lasik surgery to correct my myopia and astigmatism over seven years ago and my eyes are still seeing well. I would highly recommend this practice. I may have paid a little more for my lasik than if I had gone to a "factory" ophthalmologist, but I was never worried about anything going wrong. Everything went well. Peace of mind is worth a few dollars more.
