Services
All About Children has been the most reliable place to bring my 3 kids over the years from birth to now. Everyone there gives me peace of mind. I love this place. All doctors and nurse practitioners take amazing care of the girls and I feel they have best care when sick and for checkups. We have been going to All About Children for over 10 years with our foster & adopted children.
When we were forming our new pediatric clinic, we needed a logo. One of our clinicians had an old high school friend with her own graphic design business. This friend's name was Nancy Towne, owner of Connections in Boulder, Colorado. Nancy asked us what made us different from other Pediatric clinics and wondered how she could illustrate this in our logo.
Marilou has been practicing as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1972. She received her R.N. degree in 1968 and worked as a registered nurse for three years at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Neonatal Intensive Care. She then attended the pediatric nurse practitioners program in Boston, MA, associated with Northeastern University.
Sports physicals are often required to play school-sponsored sports, especially among older children and teenagers. They have expertise in sports-related physicals in children of all ages to ensure your child is healthy enough to safely participate in their favorite sport. Questionable billing and poor customer service. Used this clinic for many years without issue. Recently they assessing additional visit charges without notification and amplifying severity of visit levels to charge more. I questioned these charges to receive no call back. Pursued through BBB, but they never addressed the original issue. Pursued through MN Attorney General only to have them report back the charges were thoroughly explained. Check your bills and ask about up charges in advance to avoid surprises.

Update to my comments below. I saw some good improvement now in the way nurse's handling the kids. Increasing the rating. ---------------- I went for a blood test for my kid. The nurse who attended my child was not kid friendly. They didn't know how to distract the child. To draw the blood, they have to find the vein and it will take a while. This process will not be painful.
They could have easily distracted my kid. But instead used brutal force to hold her hand. My kid started crying a lot even before injecting. My point here is I know every kid will cry when injected, but even before that my kid had to cry and exhaust, which could have been easily prevented by the nurse. After this my kid starts shouting for most of the times. Even after 3 weeks she continues like this. I expect the nurses working in pediatrics to get some training on handling the kids.

You may have to wait a little while for the doctor but they give you equal time. It's not in and out don't care kind of place. They listen and connect with you and your child. They have a wonderful bedside manner. I love the private practice feel. It's like a intamite family-friendly environment instead of a cooperate feel. My kids are comfortable here.

My wife and I went to 4 other pediatricians before we ended up sticking with All About Children. Dr. Chang is fantastic, and the other doctors we have seen for sick visits have been great as well. I appreciate that their sick and well sides of the waiting room are two separate rooms, and that they always seem to be able to squeeze us in for a visit when an ear infection or strep throat pops up.

I was an existing patient and took my child in for her well-child visit. As is typical for a well-child visit, they did a hearing screen. (Note: I had no concerns about her hearing.) Afterwards, I received a $75 bill for the hearing screen. This office codes it as a diagnostic exam, rather than a preventive exam. After several back-and-forth conversations between the billing office and my insurer, the clinic refused to change the code and is still charging me $75. (Yes, $75 to wear headphones and respond to prompts, something that took 5-10 minutes.) I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

I have a mix feeling with this place. This is a small clinic with experience staff. Because it is a small clinic, it is convenient to park outside in the parking lot and enter the waiting room. The waiting rooms are divided into sick and non-sick kids which is great if you have regular baby check up. It will be bit smaller risk to get infected in the waiting area. Although, the exam rooms are shared.
It's a small clinic, but they can test many thing including food allergy test. Some other clinics refer to other location to do allergy test, but this place can take blood sample and send to a separate company to get the test done. Problem is that when they get the test results, they don't send the results to you. You need call and then request to get the call back, which may not happen for several days. Receptionist staff may not be helpful to get the results either.
They have patient portal, but it's pretty much useless. The information there is incorrect and the lab results are not uploaded. To get your hard copy of your lab results, you need to sign the information release form. For regular growth check up place, this is a great place.

This has been my baby boy's pediatric since he was 3 months old. He is now 14 months. I have no complaints about this office. They have set up appt for my baby boy the same day & always answer any question or concern I have when I have called over the phone. Most visits have been with Dr kelly & she is great at what she does.

I have been going to All About Children for 3 years, since my oldest was born. I am continued to be blown away by their support. They get it, and they actually care, not just burning through appointments during the day. They keep a number of open slots every day for sick kids that they could easily fill with well checks - but that's not what parents and kids need. - I have had doctors stay late, well past closing because they waited for me to drive in (we moved out of EP, but I refuse to change offices) - I get follow up calls from the doctors when I bring in really sick babies (6 months old, RSV - two calls the next day, and a call the day after that. 1 week old, in NICU at Children's with a virus - calls while we were there and follow up calls) - SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS!
Every single time I have called and asked, most of the time an appointment is offered within the next 2 hours. Having kids in daycare, you cannot beat this. It often makes the difference between being out of the office an extra day (24 hour rule on pink eye, etc) - I never have to bother with minute clinic -(LONG waits, sick people everywhere), half the time minute clinic tells me I have to go see my pediatrician anyway.
And since I can get in right away at all about children, why even bother? Its faster and better. - Fast after hours calls. I get calls back very quickly, and they never sound annoyed that I have questions! That's the last thing you need with a baby puking on you and screaming in discomfort. - I primarily see Mary Lou, Amanda, and Dr. Kelly. Love them all!

I wish Dr. Bush was still there. She's the reason I started going to this clinic. Once she left we were referred to Dr. Chang. Worst mistake ever. Two years in a row she made mistakes with my son's food allergy testing. Not something you want to make a mistake on. When I called to discuss with her, I was basically dismissed and her response was "I see and talk to a lot of patients about food allergies.
I'm sorry I don't remember." Not the response that makes you feel like you're at a small clinic - which is one of the reasons we started here. Needless to say we won't be returning. Apparently we aren't important enough to read our labs correctly!
