I dread having to call the nurse line. You have to wait 20-30 minutes just to have someone in scheduling transfer you to another queue where you have to wait a LONG time again. The callback option needs to be available right away, instead of having to wait for the scheduling person to get on the phone. Care in the office is good, but this basic disrespect for parents time is really frustrating. We get that you are busy, but we are busy too. Fix the phone system - it feels like torture listening to the same 20 seconds on hold music over and over and over and over.

Have been with Southdale peds for many years. No issues, care was great. Loved our pediatrician. Over the last few years, yes even pre-pandemic, I started to experience long wait times on the phone, and lack of follow up: no return phone calls when clarifying prescriptions, prescriptions not sent to the pharmacy, I had to call multiple times to get it sent.
Final straw: prescription for kiddo was denied by insurance, I called to ask for a different option, and no one followed up with me. It doesn't matter how great your providers are if the office is not organized enough to coordinate care.

I feel like Southdale Pediatrics doesn't care about the children and more about the money. They refuse to see one of our kids because of a small bill from our other son. Like what kind of place refuses to take care of the child first? I asked if we can do a payment plan since for now it's only my husband working and still come in to see the doctor, they told us no that they want their money first.
To me that seems like the don't care. Even the nurses line I always end up with rude people who seem to not want to do their job. I absolutely love the doctor that both my sons see, but I'm thinking about switching clinics, because to me that's ridiculous. If they keep doing this they won't have many patients left. Hope you see this Southdale.

I have been visiting this clinic for more than 8 years and always likes it. Recently, I am really fed up with their scheduling process and nurse line. If you ever want to connect to a nurse it takes forever, you have to first go through the scheduling, which usually has 40-60 min average wait time. Now if they transfer you to nurse - you will again ho through the same wait time.
And 50% times call drops as soon as it is answered. And finally if you want to talk to the doctor you visited just a day back you are out of luck. They always want you to schedule an appointment - really? -Just to pass an health update or discuss a concern? I hope Southdale Pediatricians are listening and will help improve parents experience.

Starting from the first newborn appointment when my little guy had a handful of minor complications, to our 12 month appointment, the clinic has held our hand thru it all. The providers have great follow-up and take the time to answer our questions and offer follow up advice (if we ask for it/welcome it). They are sensitive to how we want to raise our child, and work with us to offer best guidance and next steps. Thank you for everything!

The doctors are amazing but the clinic is unusable due to terrible administration. At least 45 minutes on hold every time you need an appointment. If you request a callback, no one calls back. We quit this practice after it took me 90+ minutes (after two no callbacks) to get an appointment for a child with a concussion.

We absolutely love our daughter's pediatrician. She's wonderful with kids and as a first time mom, she's great with me too. If I was rating on her alone, it would be a 5 star review. Scheduling or trying to talk to someone regarding a sick child is a nightmare, and what is ultimately forcing us to find a different clinic. It's always over a half hour wait, and recently I've been on hold for over 2 hours only to be told they can't see my child without offering any other directive care.
What I will say is that the nurses are also wonderful when I do get a hold of them. It's a system problem. As a comparison - I remained on hold with Southdale Peds while I called another pediatrician. I got through right away and was offered pediatric-only urgent care tonight or an appointment tomorrow morning for my sick child. I'm still on hold with Southdale after 2 hours.
I'm sad and frustrated because we do truly think her Doctor is one of the best. But as working parents with a sick child, we just can't afford to not have access to more consistent and predictable care.

The care my daughter received has been great. I liked the doctors we've seen. I like how they are keeping respiratory appts separate from well visits. For that I would give them a 4. However it takes me 30-45 min waiting on hold to make an appt- that's absurd. Who has time for that? I've brought it couple times and it seems to be they are okay with it.
As a result I'm switching to a different provider. For this I would give a 2 but decided to meet in the middle with a 3 star review. I should have seen this as a red flag when I first booked my new babies appointment. Their doctor who saw her in the hospital said she needed to be seen the next day. After sitting on hold for 45 minutes the person on the phone told me they couldn't get me in the next day, they were booked with people who scheduled in advance.
My baby was born 3 days ago- how would I have been able to schedule in advance? I asked to speak with someone else and they were able to talk to a doctor to see if they could add my brand new baby to their schedule. They have some work to do on customer service and efficiency.

The care is good. The doctors and nurses are generally pretty friendly and competent. The scheduling is a nightmare. I've never waited less then 30mins. to talk to anyone about scheduling or a nurse. As a full time working mother with toddler this time is very valuable and they don't seem to care much about that. If I had to choose again I would find another clinic for my child.
