Dr Goslin completely misdiagnosed my son's pre-surgery condition as a panic attack, when in reality it was a critically low phosphorus level that could have killed him. He was dismissive, arrogant and neglectful, in our opinion. My son suffered greatly while Goslin stared at him like he was crazy or faking. He checked for reaction to painful stimuli and my son didn't feel it, yet did no further testing. It seemed more important to stay on schedule, and he took my son to surgery in that fragile condition. Be warned.

Dr. DeVoe and his nurse assistant Ashlee are great people. I had surgery with Dr DeVoe and after that it was necessary to have an additional procedure. Both Dr. DeVoe and Ashlee made quick arrangements for my admission to the hospital and finding a specialist to do the additional procedure. Dr DeVoe took care of with the post-procedure follow ups. Both of them are very compassionate and gave me great care. Big thanks to both of them.

HORRIBLE JUST HORRIBLE! Dr Bach took over an hour just to enter the room, there was no apology or warning from the nurse or staff about a delay. He proceeded to ignore what I told him about my pain and disregard my issues and questions. He was very condescending and rude. Horrible bedside manner. The nurse wasn't friendly at all either. If he did not want to see me for the issue I was there for, and or answer my questions about it or even give me the slightest bit of information to help make me feel better than he should've have accepted my referral. I will avoid coming back here at all costs, and will NEVER see this surgeon again.

I had a great experience at Riverside Surgical Associates. Dr. Shoemaker operated on all three of my hernias. Two weeks later I feel like new. He was very professional in all aspects. I would recommend him to anyone in need of surgery. Also, the staff at Riverside was great. I could not have had a better experience. I was very pleased with my results.

I had a consult with Dr. Toscano on 6/23/20. Dr. Toscano was late coming in and didn't want to take the time to answer my questions. Dr. Toscano was very UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, POOR DEMEANOR and had NO BEDSIDE MANNER. During my appointment. Dr. Toscano had said to me, "Ms. You're wasting my time, I have other patients to see." Most AWFUL experience ever.
I had requested to see another physician and had to speak with the office manager about my experience because I would NEVER want a doctor to perform surgery on me that spoke to me the way he did me. It's ashame that the office manager first made the excuse "oh I'm sure he didn't mean it that way" but let's face it, the staff is simply making excuses for his poor way of speaking to patients. I would advise and recommend everyone to seek out other doctors before making an appointment with Toscano. Rating is an "F". Rating zero stars.

Deceitful. My issue is not with the center's capabilities or my experience there, it is with the disclosure surrounding costs and the surgeon's ownership interest in the facility. I am aware everyone needs to be their own medical advocate, but it is near impossible when there is incomplete disclosure. Background: I was referred to the surgeon from my PCP for a discretionary procedure and was advised by the surgeon that it could be completed in the surgeon's office but that it would be easier in the outpatient surgery center.
The date was scheduled and in the interim I received an estimate of costs, which totaled $2,250. I thought that was high, but not having experience with medical billing practices, didn't realize that was my out of pocket cost. My insurance provider paid an additional $8,000+ for the procedure. The surgeon billed for his services separately. The procedure involved only a local numbing agent and no sedation.
In total I spent less than 20 minutes in the surgery room, and about 90 minutes in the center from start to finish. It would have been a lot less had the surgeon been on time. My issue is that the surgeon should have disclosed that he retains an ownership interest in the center (HELLO!) and that the additional cost incurred to use the facility was not fully disclosed in their pre surgery estimate (provided to me as $2,250 and not the actual $11,057 and this was after the contractual adjustment between the facility and insurance carrier!).
How are we as patients expected to make informed decisions when the information provided to us is opaque at best? And deceitful at its worst. I don't begrudge anyone for making a profit. But remember you are a consumer of services and you should have all information to make an informed decision. Proceed with caution!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Toscano. I was suffering from a pretty severe case of diastasis recti & had all but lost hope at having it fixed. I'd had failed physical therapy, an OB/GYN that down played it, & a consult from another general surgeon that told me she could do the repair, but that I'd have to fully pay out of pocket, as I was not herniated & it would be considered "cosmetic." You could physically see & feel my bowels my case was so severe so I wasn't giving up.
I remembered previous doctors I'd worked for referring to Dr. Toscano all the time, so I requested a referral specifically for him. He took one look at me, in clear sympathy, the day of my consult, told me I had a hernia, along with the severe DR, & said he could do it no problem, & insurance would cover it. We went over all restrictions, info, etc & I had the surgery scheduled before leaving the office.
The day of the procedure he was kind, thorough, & very calming. I've seen him for 2 follow-ups, one of which was a reassurance to me after being worried I'd caused damage after the stomach bug. Each time he was very considerate & encouraging that I return should I ever want/need to. My results are AMAZING. I have no pain (I'm only 2 months out), my swelling is little-to-none, & my scar looks fantastic, given how large it was starting out.
I can finally wear my clothes comfortably & play with my children/live life without discomfort. I'd send anyone I love to Dr. Toscano, he's one of the good ones. His office staff/nurses are always friendly as well. :)
