Please take this review seriously. Dr Jack Walzel caused 7 plus months of excruciating pain in my dad from a hernia surgery repair. Yes, surgery has risks. We know this. The sad part is this man had no care or concern and an awful bedside manner. He did not take my dad's pain seriously and dismissed him three times. The last time was four months after the surgery and during the exam Walzel pushed on the tender spot so hard ( my dad yelled that is it!) it ignited the excruciating pain (excruciating-burning, stabbing, poking) 10/10 pain that was non stop for a week.
My dad could not bend over for 7 months or that 10/10 pain would return. The pain never left. Walzel and three ER doctors said all looks great in that area by exam and by all three different CT scans. Second opinions and pain management were not any help. Today a surgeon operated on my dad because he knew my dad was in pain. The nerve was damaged by Walzel.
It was so aggravated that it was enlarged and this was obvious to the naked eye. The top part of nerve was not attached and flapping. This was the tender area in abdomen he kept complaining about to Walzel and he ignored him three times. My dad also made many phone calls to office seeking help and Walzel never once recommended to go back in to take a look.
If he would have, we have have refused. My dad needed answers. He did suggest something after first check up when my dad showed him tender area and described pain.six weeks of PT. When my dad saw the PT, they had no idea what to do for a pain like that. Walzel also told him he was not going back into the area to explore! Sad! So mad my dad lost 7 plus months of 2019. Shame on you Jack Walzel!
