Our neurosurgeons treat a variety of brain, cervical and lumbar spine and peripheral conditions. All conditions, treatments and outcomes are specific to the individual patient. Results may vary. Complications, such as infection, blood loss, and bowel or bladder problems are some of the potential adverse risks of surgery.
Your neck is part of a long flexible column, known as the spinal column or backbone, which extends through most of your body. The cervical spine (neck region) consists of seven bones (C1-C7 vertebrae), which are separated from one another by intervertebral discs. These discs allow the spine to move freely and act as shock absorbers during activity.
If you are experiencing low back pain, you are not alone. An estimated 75 to 85 percent of all Americans will experience some form of back pain during their lifetime. Although low back pain can be quite debilitating and painful, in about 90 percent of all cases, pain improves without surgery. However, 50 percent of all patients who suffer from an episode of low back pain will have a recurrent episode within one year. The lumbar spine (lower back) consists of five vertebrae in the lower part of the spine between the ribs and the pelvis.
Neurosurgical Assosciates, Ltd understands that patients are referred to our clinic for a variety of reasons ranging in severity. Our goal is to have all the necessary resources and education to make sure that each patient receives the best care possible to meet their needs. We would like each and every patient to be completely satisfied with the care they have received with Neurosurgical Associates, Ltd.

Dr. Vasquez and his surgical staff at Abbott provided excellent and comforting service, J. Rock PA. is also a great asset to the team and very reassuring to me as a patient. I would have given five stars but the office staff handing my disability paperwork has created a frustrating experience, you can't talk to anybody or have them reply in a timely manner. (24- 48 hours is unacceptable) and their lack of communication regarding this process is frustrating to say the least.

Dr McCue and his staff are awesome! They are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. He talks to you like a person and explains things in layman's terms. Dr McCue uses surgery ONLY as a last resort. His coordinator, Laura, is a doll! Very nice and handles everything! I've an autoimmune disease that affects my joint so I've had several surgeries. Dr McCue has done 4 surgeries on my spine and I won't go to another doctor.

Dr. Burgman called me a alcoholic 3 times, after I had explained to him I have been sober and living with my mother for the last 2 months ( she came with me and vouched I did not even have a drink) I don't even drink on 95% of the weekends. He stated that the use of my right hand would magically come back once I stopped drinking. Well fortunately, I went and saw a real neurosurgeon who did a actual emg and found I had pausly and was placed on Short Term Disability.
The Dr that figured it out took 5 min after a quick look at my hand. He stated that I had 9 months from the loss of the use of my fingers (I work in IT) to get it working or it would be limp and usable forever! Thanks for your great help Dr. B! and Neurosurgical Associates! Here is one of the 3 custom hand made casts I had to wear to get use of my hand back for 3 months! Thanks much! A+++ WOULD RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY.

Jenelle Rock the head nurse for Ciro Vasquez M.D. continually told me that her and Dr. Vasquez had no faith that I could lose the weight needed to stave off a future surgery. Basically, they said "this is your second surgery, fatty, we don't think you have the will power to lose the weight, so we will see you again in ten years for surgery number 3." And Dr. Vasquez was completely unprofessional to my girlfriend in the post surgical interview.
Again asserting that I had neither the desire or will power to lose weight. And blaming my girlfriend for my current obesity. Not once did they express any confidence that I could change my own weight situation. Dr Galicich would have sent you two packing months ago if he hadn't left to teach.

It has now been just over three months since my husband passed away from Glioblastoma Multiforme. It may seem very surprising to see me thanking my husband's neurosurgeon and staff as my husband ultimately didn't survive. However, due to the skillful hands and brilliance of Dr. Mahmoud Nagib, I was able to enjoy my husband for 15 months longer than I would have otherwise.
He was living with a terminal illness and in the care of Dr Nagib as well as his associate Dr. John Trusheim and his staff, he was able to live a more full life making memories with his wife, children and extended family and friends. I will forever be thankful for Dr Nagib and his amazing CNP Sharon Ericksen as well. I would recommend this ground to anyone that finds themselves in the heart-wrenching state of needing a neurosurgeon. Blessings to you all and I can't thank you enough. Fondly, Nicolette B
