Leaving the practice after almost a decade as Ive finally had enough. The billing department will run your insurance before your visit and then you get to the front desk and they still over charge you. You don't find out until you go through your EOB from insurance after the fact, then you have to call them back and demand a refund for the over charge.
They just let 'credits' sit on your account and never let you know you have them when you next go in, they just over charge you again, until you catch them. Then they dont have an in-house lab and use Quest Diagnostics which will charge you twice for lab work using medical codes that are for the same tests and use 'new and emerging technology' for things as simple as urine testing and your insurance will deny it and you get stuck with the bill. DO NOT USE THEM if you have a deductible you have to meet with your insurance or you will be fighting them every step of the way!

Most of there doctors have absolutely no bed side manner and aren't opposed to shaming you when all you want is to be treated. Update: I have been seeing the most amazing doctor at victory for half a decade. Not surprisingly he is off to a new state and a great opportunity! I've adored him.always explained things in a way I understand, always checked the cost of any.test/procedure, and always addressed my questions in a timely manner.
I would NEVER advise anyone to go to victory urgent care. Both doctors dismissed me and rather then bothering to speak with me aka listen to the patient they ordered unnecessary tests. One lab cost $325 the other was $200. Solely because these male doctors didn't listen nor care about my budget ( weeks pay check). In addition to these doctors running up my tab that fat shamed me.
In addition to these doctors shaming me they asked if my anxiety was real. Side note I think the weight loss program is awesome! I've fallen on and off of it but every time I've seen results. Lindsey is great and it's a great program! Moral of the story-find any other place if you need urgent care. If you're sent here by your company for a work comp ask to follow up with a different doctor (legally you can make this request).
Victory I am so sorry that you are losing the ONLY doctor I've ever been treated at by your facility who had respect, understanding, patient care, and gave a S*** perhaps you look into recruiting health care professionals who give a dam and understand that you should talk to the patient before you run $300+ labs.

This is a shady business. I have a high deductible health plan, which will only cover preventative care (such as a physical). I was trying to get some bloodwork done and called to schedule a physical with bloodwork. My health insurance told me if I scheduled my appointment as a physical it would be covered as preventative care, and that I could have unlimited physicals covered in a year, as long as they were billed as physicals.
At the time of my appointment, the nurse looked through my chart and saw that my previous physical had been less than a year ago. She decided that I didn't need another physical, so they didn't perform one to "save time" for themselves. Because of this the office billed my insurance as a diagnostic visit, instead of the physical that I scheduled. Again, I scheduled a physical so it would be covered by insurance, this office decided that I didn't need a physical to save time for themselves, and now I'm being billed for a diagnostic visit that insurance won't cover. Additionally, the bloodwork codes used by this office were inputted as diagnostic codes, so now I'm receiving bills from the lab.
Last year I had this same bloodwork done through my OBGN (not at Victory Medical), and all the codes were inputted as preventative care, so everything was covered. Going to this office instead resulted in a huge bill.

I've been going to Victory Medical for almost 20 years now and they're always very helpful and amazing to work with. The Doctors and Nurse Practitioners are so knowledgeable and really spend time with you to make sure you're taken care of. I've moved a few times over the past few years and there have been many other practices much closer, but I continue to go to Victory Medical because of their staff.

I was quoted 60 dollars for labs, I paid this amount up front as at the time I didn't have insurance and made it very clear I needed to know the exact cost upfront to determine if I could afford the tests. They called me a week later saying I still owed 139 dollars for the testing and I was quoted incorrectly. Now I am stuck paying a bill I cannot afford do to the irresponsibility of this clinic. Extremely frustrated, billing was not helpful. ETA: Talked to the office manager and she was EXTREMELY helpful, changed my experience completely.

My last review seems to HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN. So here I go again. I received a totally incompetent appointment with one of the Nurse practitioners on a Sunday. Came in with an earache and he mis- diagnosed the entire situation. Rushed me through a perfunctory meeting and told me he saw nothing wrong. The next day I saw an ENT who saw the infection in about 3 seconds and when I told him about the NP and how he missed seeing the infection he could not understand how. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME, money etc.
Your people cannot even diagnose a simple ear infection. What use are they? My recommendation: DO NOT GO THERE EVEN IF YOU ARE DEATHLY ILL. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE DEATHLY ILL.

I needed to change medical providers as mine was retiring and Victory Medical had recently hired Jesse Martinez, DO to join their group. I was very impressed by his warm bedside manner, professionalism, thoroughness and quality of care. He took time to listen to my history and suggested testing and evaluation that I was not aware would be prudent.
I could tell that he takes a genuine interest in his patients and I never felt hurried or like a "number." He made me feel like I could ask additional questions or contact him later if I needed clarification. Usually these days with volume-based medicine providers leave me feeling like they need to get on to the next person as soon as possible. I really appreciated his sincerity and thoroughness. I plan to send my son and husband his way because I had such a great experience!

Do you like spam? Well you've come to the right place! I went there once, maybe in '98? '99? made the mistake of giving them my email. Seemed innocent enough, decided I wanted a different doctor. A couple of years go by. Then the spam starts. Tips, "news" any excuse. Unsubscribing doesn't work - or rather it works for a few months and then they're back at it.
Finally went to their email marketing company and griped. Ahh, no more spam. NOT! Just got another spam. They import all their old email addresses, despite status of unsubscribed, and just plug them into their new marketer. I wonder how many years it will take to get some relief this time?

I've been going here for all of my medical needs for 10 years now and I have to say it's all about weaning out HCPs. my top choice Vladimir Odinets is def top notch. His extreme legitimate care dor his patients is felt from diagnosis to follow up. Never have I ever had a HCP message me to see how I am doing after treatment, but he did and it made me feel like someone is paying attention, listening really caring for my needs. #2 Ralph Hadley.
They both have been able to on point every single time give me what I need to feel better health wise and I couldn't be more happy. If you feel dissatisfied try one of these guys u won't be disappointed.

Horrible experience here. Was told 2 to 2 1/2 hour wait, spent the day rescheduling as much as I could, ended up there for hours, and at the end was charged $50 after being told it was free. Had to walk out of the test that I waited for four hours for because I just didn't have any more time. If only they could give you even vaguely accurate Information it would show some sort of respect for the people that come in, but 2 to 2 1/2 hours is not four hours and $50 is not free.

The place is very clean with nice respectful staff. They make sure your comfortable and don't have bad attitude like some places I know.but they take a long time for the Dr. to come and see you when you get in try he examination room and it be really cold but so far that's the only thing I see and still waiting on Dr.to see me

I went recently for the first time, didn't take long for the Doctor to see me and I just had one of the best experiences. My Doctor took good care of me, made sure I was comfortable, even after my appointment she stayed in contact with me. Overall made me feel like she definitely cares for her patients. If you are looking for a Doctor who cares deeply for her patients I would 100% recommend SOPHIA LUNA!

If you go for a Covid test, they make you pay full price even if insurance covers it 100%. I've been waiting several months for my reimbursement, called several times, and each time they say they don't have a record of the call but will work on the reimbursement and it will take several weeks. My Covid test was in the summer and we're already in autumn now and I still don't have a refund. Unfortunately, cannot recommend. The same thing happened last December as well. Apparently they make a lot of money not reimbursing people

This place used to be great until the pharmacist and doc started taking orders from a parole officer not even associated with the patient. Never even been arrested but had a parole officer in Texas telling the pharmacist what the doc could prescribe me because she prescribed it to a another patient on parole and they were not happy with it. From desk staff doesn't know how to bill correctly, and then told me they took a specific insurance as of recently (Medicaid) to find out the day of the appointment for my son that they don't. Got billed $70 for a free covid test (TriCare) and had to contact billing and billing told me front desk should know better.
Front desk claimed they were told to bill first and figure it out later. I loved this place up until this past year. It's a nice looking place but it appears they're spending more on appearances than making sure staff is trained and paid properly these days.

Although I'm fully vaccinated, I received a test positive for COVID. My symptoms became quite concerning 7 days following the onset of symptoms. Fortunately, I was seen by Shawn Agenbroad-Elander, PA and he quickly prescribed medicines that would restore my shortness of breath and relieve the infection that had begun. He explained how to manage the medicines and reassured me with kindness and professionalism. Thank you very much for your sincere and caring response, Shawn! Blessings to you and yours!

Rude pharmacy techs. They will send requests for refills to medications from your doctor when they don't have the medication. I filled it at a different pharmacy for a few months before today. Then they tell you that you should contact your doctor to fix their mistake. After I told them that they just inconvenienced me they replied "no one was inconvenienced" Ridiculous. I have used them in the past with good service. Sometimes you should speak directly with the pharmacist to clear up confusion

If it's an emergency I still wouldn't recommend this place. As an urgent care facility there is nothing urgent in their care for you. After an initial wait in the waiting room on a non busy day I waited 40min in the care room and had to step out and remind the nurse I was waiting. She sent my special office orders the the wrong place, forgot to send my bloodwork in and it took several phone calls and a waisted visit back to the facility and a whole week to get my orders sent so I could start the process of care I needed.
After 2 weeks still no blood work results in and the staff is like " yea we don't have the results yet, call back later.even though I was told I would get them in 3-5 days". They do not care AT ALL! And if you read the responses they clearly are not responsible for any of the negative reviews and have a script of excuses. I waited for 40min and was the only person there.all the other rooms were empty.
It all boils down to communicating clearly with patients and following through. There is no reason I should have to make sure my orders get sent to the right place and chase people down so I actually receive my blood work results.

I went to have a physical and some blood work done at the Westlake location. I got a call from someone at Victory Medical that there was something in my lab work that they would like to keep an eye out for and asked me to come back in a month for another blood test. I asked what was the issue in the blood work and give some explanation to it. Victory Medicals response was that I would have to schedule another appointment and get billed again to get the information on what my lab work meant and why I would have to come back for another test in a month.
Any other company I go to get some tests done, they provide you information on the tests and results. If I get my car inspected I get an explanation of what needs to be fixed if it did not pass the inspection. With Victory Medical, it is obvious they will maximize their billing by having you come back again for any information and results on the tests you have already paid for. Stay away from this practice!

This is a great location to get tested for Rapid and PCR covid. I called the number on the front door and waited in my car for Zekiya to come collect my driver's license and insurance card. Check in was done over text. They only have one room designated for covid symptoms. They called me when the room was ready and I went through the direct entrance on the right, separate from non covid patients.
I waited fifteen minutes in the room for the rapid result which was negative. The rapid covid test is only 72% accurate. Had I tested positive, they would've administered antibodies through an IV and given ivermectin tablets. It's the same treatment President Trump received. Vladimir, my physician's assistant, wanted me to take off my mask to look at my sore throat.
I declined as it was the covid room and he totally understood. The more accurate PCR test was supposed to take four to eight days, but Deanna called the next day to tell me it was also negative. Everything was covered by health insurance.

This place is consistently unprofessional and lacks even the basic patient care. I had one amazing experience with Dr. Andrew Dale (I think he relocated up to Dripping Springs - check him out if you want a great Doctor), but outside of that every physician I've seen has been as dismissive and stand off-is as a waiter trying to flip your table.
In my most recent experience I had been without insurance for 2 months due to a COVID layoff and wanted to get an STD screen. I also had a painless lump on my hand which I wasn't worried about, but wanted looked at just in case. Upon telling the Dr. I was generally pretty anxious about STDs and wanted to get a full screen to be super safe she smirked at me condescendingly and reluctantly submitted the labs.
Then when we got to the lump on my hand she made an off the cuff joke that it was probably Syphilis because that can cause hand sores (I've gotten the results. I'm good). I can take a joke, and I rolled with it uncomfortably, but for someone who might be really, truly anxious about a health issue this isn't the place to try out your tight five routine. This is the most recent experience in a long line just like them. Stay away. Or go to Dr. Dale - he left the practice a year ago probably for good reason.

I really like the remote blood pressure monitoring program. I take my blood pressure with a 4G-enabled cuff, and my doctor gets the reading, and the remote monitoring staff (Maya is greatly helpful) are accessible if I have questions or problems, and they check in with me whenever my numbers are out of line. I feel much safer.

The reasons I'm giving Victory Medical 5 stars are many. 1st and foremost I submitted a review a long time ago, maybe 4-5 years ago.but for some internet reason it was just time stamped as recent. This following review is being submitted on 5/19/21. After sticking it out with PA Vladimir Odinets for the past 5yrs now, I'm still pleased with my decision.
Unfortunately I'm not the type of patient that visits his location immediately at the first sign of some symptom. That could be a negative. However, I wait to see if there are other symptoms that might be related because I am my own advocate I do monitor myself closely and can access if this is urgent or is this just another anomaly. Mentioned in my 'recent' review, this is a business, a private business and yes they're in it to make money.
No business is willingly wanting to fail. Otherwise they're not a business. Several years have gone by, have had some visits and mostly all I have needed is to have my meds refilled. Recently I learned that in order for this to occur, at the beginning of each year I have to go in for blood draw and a urine sample. Yes that is an inconvenience but my Doc isn't dictating that.
His request is per my insurance requisite. In a recent recent visit, my Doc noticed some peculiarities, fortunately for me. I don't need referrals but learned 'my' insurance will approve more by using a referral and then that physician's visit and tests are better covered plus it leaves a good paper trail for future reference. Awhile back I had become disinchanted with our follow up communication but I didn't give up.
I thought it through, had some special appointments made; we speak with each other, candidly. We discussed that these sort of visits can be costly and time consuming. Gave this a great deal of time and thought. Being my own advocate and did some homework. Began to review, symptoms, onset, similarities of all visited specialists. I could see now in retrospect that there were certain symptoms overlooked but unfortunately new issues seemed to simultaneously surfaced with greater importance. Fortunately for me, my Doc has a new assistant, Angel.
And I hope she becomes a permanent part of his team. Angel and I identified a communication issue that I have. We addressed it immediately and implemented a solution. Resolution successful. I'm no longer reluctant to go in for a follow up. She has a good phone voice, listens well, understands quickly, has great follow up, customer service skills that are greatly lacking in other areas.
She maybe new, eager, and young because I have not had the pleasure of formerly meeting her. She is good, an improvement that was much needed in order for my Doc to continue being successful. She is a keeper and so is my Doc. This is lengthy again. But our society has grown to be impatient with all of this technology. Any relationship that is to survive and worth keeping requires communication, work and time that most now adays don't seem to have or are not willing to invest. Don't expect to always be 'fixed' on your first visit and sometimes there has been an unforeseen circumstance with a prior patient that has created this delay. My Doc will inform you of such a circumstance. Cordially

I just wanted to say how pleased I am with Allison, who is in charge of the remote patient monitoring system, which tracks my daily blood pressure readings. One day my reading was quite a bit lower than normal, and within minutes Allison called to make sure I was feeling all right. Thank you, Allison! Melissa E Austin, TX

Coming here was the worst experience of my entire life. First of all, they told me they accepted my insurance; then after I came out of my appointment they told me they actually did not and charged me. But even worse was during the appointment. I had just moved to Austin from Dallas and didn't have any doctors in town yet. I had been prescribed anxiety medicine for several years and just needed my refill.
I expected it to be a normal experience, I even brought bottles with MY name on it and dates. I was treated like TRASH. I have never been spoken to like that before or since. I was insulted then forced to take a drug test while a male doctor was right outside the door. Literally standing there in front of the bathroom door like a bouncer? The way he spoke to me was degrading and sick.
I sat outside and cried before I drove home with 1/4 of my medicine that I'd been taking regularly for years. Medicine like that isn't safe to just stop. The doctors here are greedy and treat people like animals. It's been two years and I finally have the courage to do something about it. It was emotionally damaging not to mention how I suffered physically from my lack of medication. That's called MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE. Don't go here unless you have a lawyer on speed dial.

After shelter in place because of the virus 2020, news stations were saying not to neglect your personal health so I went to this location which I have gone to for couple of years or more for my annual Women's Wellcare. We did the normal lab work up and for whatever reason they sent it out of network to Genpath in New Jersey instead of Quest here in Austin like they normally do.
I received a $1500 lab bill instead of a $90 one. I have been fighting it ever since. I got the amount due down to just under $300, thanks to my marketplace insurance Oscar and have been mailing in $20 a month so it does not wreck my credit. Now, because of the blizzard in Texas and just in general, I do not get my mail regularly so not receiving the monthly bill.
I have begged, pleaded, messaged Heather Robinson, her supervisor at Victory, Jane Gesmond whom said they were "working on it" to no avail and then they just quit responding at all and ignored me. I have been on the portal, called, left messages. I have tried everything. I will NEVER return here, the sad part is and I expressed this to them. I don't even want to make an appointment at all for anything anywhere because you can't trust the healthcare system.
I can only hope this gets seen and felt on their end so it might create change? How is this helping my personal heath care ladies? To be ignored and charged ridiculous sums in a year I have not even been able to work and have received no assistance? Or anytime for that matter?

They are now charging Telemed visits at the time you make an appointment - months ahead of time. This is not good business practice - no one charges for their work before it is done. I certainly don't. I have been a patient with them for several years, worked to find a practice I respected, and was happy with them. I understand I have the option to come in for the appointment, and then it would be billed as the customary practice, but this is NOT SAFE during Covid for either of us, so this should not be offered as a solution?
My not coming in is a benefit both to the staff and to me. I also feel a bit tricked. I took the time with the kind scheduler to find an appointment that worked, and then she said she needed to send me to another person to verify my insurance, but it was to get me to pay ahead of time. I would pay the amount they determined I owed on my insurance's website, and then if this was cancelled for some reason, I would have to wait to get funds back.
We will meet our deductible in the meantime, so that would have to be dealt with. Way too complicated, and the appointment hadn't even happened yet. I may be changing practices, and what a drag that would be.

I enjoyed Dr. Dale (who is no longer there) but the staff supporting the doctors is very very bad. They have been short, rude or unhelpful in almost every interaction. For the last 2 days I've been trying to schedule an appointment and I can't get anyone on the phone to talk to me. The one time someone picked up they just immediately hung up.

Some of the worst customer experience I've ever had a medical clinic. I had a chest CT scan done due to shortness of breath, and no one called me back about results. I called daily for four days and no one returned my call. I had to go *in person, during a pandemic* and demand a response on my test results. I finally got a call that day from the doctor, but it's negligent and irresponsible to not contact your patient about important test results.

I needed a General Practitioner relatively close to me and found this clinic. Despite mixed reviews, I gave them a try and I am very pleased with this clinic and Dr. Brittani Adams. The phone has been answered every time I have called, the staff has always been pleasant and they are thorough with reminders of your appointments via text messaging and email.
My visit with Dr. Adams went well and I really liked her! She actually took the time to get to know me, asked thorough questions and by the time I left, I felt she cared about my well being. The on site pharmacy is also very convenient and the technician took the time to verify that my insurance was accepted and that my copay was the same before they transferred my prescriptions from Walgreens.

On my first visit I was told by my doctor to go for bloodwork. That's fine, I figured they would schedule something or send me at check out. Nothing. Maybe he meant next visit? No. When I get there a week later he tells me I was supposed to go for lab work. ? I'd never been there before, I'm not able to read minds, why didn't someone direct me to the lab if I needed to get blood drawn? Waiting to get the blood drawn was a nightmare.
There were 2 people when I arrived. After checking in the waiting room started to fill with others checking in for bloodwork. After taking several people ahead of me they finally call me in. The tech was A+ and she is the only reason why this place didn't get 1 star. The other problem I had with this place is that nobody informed me that my doctor had changed locations and was no longer practicing at Victory Dr. location.
I do not drive and refuse to pay for a cab or Uber to Westlake for care when I live in S. Austin. The office woman told me I had no reason to be annoyed with her. LOL! Where in the world do doctors take the time to contact their entire patient base to inform them of changes? That is clearly an Office responsibility. The doctor I was seeing was good and so was the phlebotomy tech.
But this Medical Office is a HAZARD. I will never use this facility again. Oh, best part is I got charged twice for the blood testing. Find yourself a better alternative like (Premier Family Physicians. Large CLEAN facility.)
