I had very high expectations. From the reviews I read about them, to the wonderful intake and question answering session by one of their staff and their quick response to get me on their charm system which is how they do everything electronically I thought this was going to be a great experience. I didn't have much problem scheduling my first appointment virtually with the doctor, it was average I found that with all my research about mold illness I knew quite a bit and I didn't find my interview with the doctor that enlightening.
I asked for some alternative options, using herbs and more natural, functional methods to help me with what I was dealing with. And she was not well informed on any of those. Communicating them with challenging. They sent a prescription out for me and then couldn't remember what pharmacy they sent it to. They had no record of that they expected me to have the record.
I still haven't received a copy of my Super bill to send my insurance company and we are approaching the end of the year. My appointment was months ago. Very disappointed overall I would not recommend this as a place to go to in less you are completely clueless about your own health.

The day we went in, personnel was very friendly, helpful, etc. Afterwards, the billing and trying to get my husband's short term disability papers signed was a disaster. They've had the paperwork a week, and still hasn't been filled out. Thus, he's not getting paid. One person in the office was very rude to my husband when he inquired about it and we just get the run around when we call & ask - it's been passed on to so and so, it's a process. Beyond aggravating. They either don't know what they're doing, or they don't care.

I would have died back in 1992 were it not for Dr. Rea and EHCD. Transfer Factor, precursor to ALF, was the final piece in solving my EI puzzle. Today ALF is giving a much needed boost to my chemo ravaged immune system. RIP, Dr. Rea! You were a world leader in Environmental Medicine! I am eternally grateful to you for giving me back my life twice in the space of 26 years.

Best place in the world! They are passionate about what they do and helping people get better. I'm extremely grateful for this place! I felt like I was dying and kept going to the ER just to get sent back home. After one simple treatment I started to feel a difference! And after a week a significant difference! Everyone has different situations going on, but I promise you, there's hope. I thank Jesus for using these people and their knowledge, when all else fails.

Dr. Rea was a very nice man and very talented. I came here from out of state, for a week, and received valuable information. Although, my condition was never resolved or abated in any way, to this day. $5000+ later. I paid my bill in full on the day of my departure. This was the first week of July 2018. Sadly, Dr. Rea passed in August 2018. I wish I had more time to be under his care.
In late October 2018, I started receiving a bill for $83. Saying that I did not pay for an office visit that the office claims I had the day I departed. I never saw Dr. Rea that day. Further, why am I hearing about this months later? Not one person has ever called me back. Today, I FINALLY spoke with Ashley who was as unhelpful and unconcerned as all of the other staff at this office.
In fact, his office staff is absolutely without a doubt the most incompetent group of people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting and dealing with. All of the other patients who were there with me shared their frustration over this. Says a lot. Yet, we all stayed because of Dr. Rea. I paid thousands of dollars to this office, to fly there and stay in a hotel, etc. an office visit for $83 is not a big deal.
But it IS an error on their part. Just like many of the errors I encountered while I was under Dr. Rea's care. I constantly had to comb through paperwork and caught them charging me more than once for procedures I had paid for the previous day. I do not believe they are malicious, but truly they are just unorganized and clueless. This office desperately needs a skilled and experienced office manager. Ina who prepares the vaccines is so rude and temperamental.
It's always a real nightmare coordinating with her. To the point, that I just stopped ordering the vaccine because I got tired of her yelling at me over the phone. It goes to show you, that you may be a wonderful doctor but if you don't have staff who reflect your ethos, you will lose patients. Hopefully, this office can learn to walk and chew gum before they fully tarnish Dr. Rea's legacy.

Recently I have been to the EHC-D and seen two doctors, Dr. Seymour and Dr. McCarter. I have found both of them to be knowledgeable and practicing medicine like Dr. Rea did. Sadly Dr. Rea has passed on. He was a wonderful man and doctor who helped many people. Thank heavens his work is being carried on by other doctors who he trained. The staff of the EHC-D is still just as intelligent and helpful as they always were. It is great to see Dr. Rea's work being carried on.

Dr. Rea is my hero, and saved my sanity and life at EHC-D. We are all bio individuals and some of the nasty snotty reviews are from people who are likely trolls, or people who do not want to do the work. You do not get ill from exposure overnight and it takes a lot to recover. Some people like someone with cancer will likely not miraculously be cured using ALF. However, my immune function improved with that and other modalities after toxigenic mold and pesticide exposure about killed me.
I will miss Dr. Rea and mourn his passing. He spent most of his life helping people that modern big pharma medicine writes off if they cannot sell you drugs to mask your symptoms. I love you Dr. Rea rest with the angels, you deserve it

I'd be very cautious of this place. The other positive reviews must be from long ago. Dr Rae and Estella yelled at me and I was a new patient. I didn't feel very welcomed. Rae's health must have been failing. I thought the place should be shut down it was so chaotic in there. Beware. A couple doctors are taking over for him, but unless most of the staff are let go, no one will return calls or be able to answer medical questions when you're offsite unless they are totally retrained and held to some serious accountability. My health was at risk at this place.

A wonderful physician (former heart surgeon, I think); possessor of a wealth of knowledge and experience. He was extremely attentive, took his time, carefully listened to my complained and assessed the documentation I showed him; and advised a number of tests that I will complete when I feel again seriously concerning symptoms. The clinic is very nice, too, and the staff extremely professional and welcoming. Thank you, Dr. Rea.

The publication of "Human Ecology and Susceptibility to the Chemical Environment" over 40 years ago by Theron Randolph marked the initiation of the human ecology movement. Dr. Randolph studied the effects of, and treatments for, adverse reactions of foods and chemicals on the human body. He founded the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) which now has hundreds of physician members. Dr. William Rea took over Dr. Randolph's practice and applied scientific methods to develop additional treatments for those who experience adverse reactions to food, chemical, mold, pollen and other environmental irritants such as EMF.
He founded the Environmental Health Center Dallas (EHCD), wrote numerous books, hundreds of articles and gave lectures all over the world. He served as president of the AAEM. With his passing in 2018 his work is carried on by Drs. Seymour and McCarter, who continue to care for patients who come to EHCD from all over the world for treatment. (There were patients from Spain and Israel during my visit there a few weeks ago).
I was pleased to see that Drs. Seymour and McCarter are continuing the treatments that Dr. Rea and Dr. Randolph pioneered. Their advice was exactly what I would have heard from Dr. Rea. EHCD's treatments for my food, pollen, mold, chemical, and EMF sensitivities for over a decade have enabled me to continue to live independently. Without EHCD treatments I would be bed ridden and would need to be in a care facility.
I would be mentally unable to perform even the simplest tasks. Conventional medicine is only just beginning to understand these health issues. The 2 star review below, which was made after 3 days at EHCD, evidently does not understand the complexity of treating an illness which can have multiple causes and require multiple treatments. Mast cell activation and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome are just a few of the innumerable causes of environmental illness. EHCD treatments address these as well as many other causes.
They just don't use that terminology. Some treatments have an immediate effect. Others, such as detoxification and FSM, may take years. Many physicians treat some aspects of environmental illness. There is none that I know in the U.S. who built a facility specifically for patients with environmental illness. Filtration, floors, walls, and even the grout used is specially designed for the environmentally sensitive.
They have the specialized tools (for double blind EMF testing, saunas, oxygen treatments, IV's, etc.) that is required. I know of no other physician in the U.S. who has such a range of treatments for environmental illnesses. It is not easy, it is expensive, it takes time and a lot of work, but for most patients it is worth it. For some patients EHCD has saved their lives. I've met some of them.

I am currently being treated with Dr. Stephanie McCarter at Environmental Health Center after I was treated with Dr. Rae who was just a jewel of a practitioner as well. I couldn't be more impressed with Dr. McCarter knowledge, compassion and treatment protocols as she has helped me immensely with regards to addressing toxicity including mold. EHC is very unique in their testing and their specialized protocols which I have not seen anywhere else in the last 10 years. I do highly recommend the center, also staying at the safe housing EHC offers is just great when addressing toxicity issues.

I have been here for 3 days so far and already I can tell not another place exists like this. It is completely tailored to patients with environmental illness. I met with dr. Rea already is he is probably the nicest most compassionate person ever. I will have a more extensive review. So after doing extensive research, as well as being treated here, functional medicine has been making breakthroughs in areas such as chronic illness and mcs.
It has been shown, that a large proportion of people have underlying causes such as Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome as well as mast cell activation. None of which were discussed here. Dr. Rea was a great pioneer but did not bring any of these to my attention. I can't recommend this to anyone because of the alternative treatment options available that offer a more concrete and detailed treatment plan.

I have been a treated by Dr. Rea and his staff since 1999. I have always been treated the best by his staff and Dr. Rea. If it wasn't for his work and staff I and many others would not be here to tell our story. It can be frustrating and confusing on your first trip or phone call. The staff has changed their lives just to work there. Dr. Rea should be retired and enjoying life yet he won't give up on us. I can't express enough how much this clinic, staff and Doctor are the best. Betsy T

Dr. Rea is the most respected environmental physician in the country and probably even the world. He has done lots of research in this area and has written a series of texts on the subject that are widely considered the most reliable books on the subject. He is in the process of writing the second edition. I am a physician with environmental illness.
When I went to see Dr. Rea I found several fellow physicians in his waiting room. Physicians, when they become ill with something that is not well understood, are just like anyone else. They search for the best answer. They have more experience and judgement than those not in the field and so many end up with Dr. Rea. Dr. Rea is a courageous and dedicated man, and he is also a very kind man.
I have enormous respect and affection for him and all of his work in the forefront of this new area of medicine. I shouldn't really say that it is new, as Theron Randolph, MD wrote his amazing book about it in the 1950s. The truly amazing part is that there are so many in medicine who have not educated themselves after not learning about this in medical school.

I was treated by Dr. Rea at the Environmental Health Center in 2011. When I arrived for treatment, I was so sensitive to chemicals that I could not enter any public buildings or homes except for the EHC offices and a specialized room I rented that had porcelain walls and non-reactive furnishings. Dr. Rea and his professional staff did an excellent job educating my husband and me about the causes and treatments for Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, and the testing lab accurately diagnosed my food and environmental sensitivities.
I purchased some injections formulated specifically for me by the Center, but I was also told that 70% of my treatment would be to find and live in an environment that had clean air, water, and food (organic). We were encouraged to move to a high desert area, which we did. Five years later, I can barely remember that I was ever so sick. I still avoid places that are chemically toxic, but I live a normal life now. I cannot thank Dr. Rea and the EHC enough for being there when I was in dire need.

10 Stars+ This Center deals with the toughest cases & Dr. Rea is an incredible, gifted Healer! :) He brought me back to life after a bad reaction to a toxic office renovation. Now I have been in fine health ever since he treated me for several months (2010-2011). I cannot say enough good things about his skill, intelligence, bedside manner, & decades of vast experience- which shows!
That said, patients must follow his advice with a great degree of discipline. And it is good to consult with his nutritionist at the Center. You cannot cut corners. Good luck!- :)

I am a physician and I came 1000 miles to be under the care of Dr. Rea. There are patients, including several physicians, here from all over the country and even from several other countries, because Dr. Rea is the authority on environmental illness. I have enormous respect for him and appreciate his treatment very much. His clinic is staffed with many excellent people in various capacities. Except on rare occasions when another physician is covering on a weekend or holiday, Dr. Rea sees every patient himself.

I have been a patient at the EHC for over 3 years and have gone from being completely unable to function normally because of allergies, environmental & chemical sensitivities, hormonal imbalances, and neurological toxicity to being 100% 'normal' and extremely fit and healthy. I cannot express how grateful I am that this healing place exists - they do not treat symptoms like the traditional medical world, but instead they find the root cause of your symptoms and heal you from the root cause.
The knowledge and holistic view of the body and its environment that Dr. Rea and his staff have is unmatched in the world. That is why you will see people from every continent at the clinic. It is without a doubt the best place to heal anywhere.
