I was referred to Dr. Tortorelis reguarding some epididymal cysts. He told me that I would need surgery, but not to worry as it was a very simple procedure. On my follow up exam, after the surgery I told him that I thought that he missed on of the cysts- the original one that brought me into his office. He told me that it was the surgical incicsion that I was feeling.
I told him no, and he said that it was my epididmas and I should see him in a year. This "Doctor" lied not only to me, but to my partner who was in the office with me. I went to another doctor out of his network and, indeed, there was a lump that was not where the inscision was made nor my epididimas. I had another ultra sound that showed, surprise, the original cyst.
I have made a formal complaint to the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and I would recommend to not see him. Shame on you "Dr." Tortorelis for lying to a patient to cover your mistake. And shame on you for doing harm to a patient who trusted you.
