After my mastectomy, I was referred to Dr. O'Brien, he showed me photo's of breast reconstruction surgery that I assume he did, they were all beautiful. He and his office manager recommend silicone rather than saline I took their advice alone with thinking that the picks of his work on others was going to be what I would look like. The result was a breast that look like a poorly shaped biscuit that is always ice cold to touch. I think it was purposely done that way.

Be sure to check your insurance benefits yourself. Dr. O'Brien is now using an outpatient clinic instead of Brookwood Hospital for outpatient surgeries. Although I asked about the outpatient center coverage versus hospital due to my insurance, I was assured everything was fine. It was not, my deductible applied when the outpatient center was used, and not the hospital. So, his office cost me almost $900 more than I would have had to pay if they would have checked when I asked.

Dr. O'Brien is the kindest and most caring Plastic Surgeon to whom I have ever been. I had a terrible result with breast reconstruction at UAB, but Dr. O'Brien was able to make my breast look very natural. Part of my reconstructed breast tissue had died, so he was not able to use the same size implant, but with his expertise they look the same in my clothing. I can highly recommend this wonderful doctor.

Had a procedure in 2014. Blue Cross was to pay. They told me my part. I paid before surgery. Then got a bill. I do not recall details but my records indicate the overage was paid in full. Made appointment for scar removal.drove from Gadsden.to be told until I pay the bill that was disputed in 2014 I couldn't be seen. I left, called BC/BS and they are mailing me the paperwork where it was covered. Why allow someone to drive over an hour if you aren't going to see them? Rude!

I've see a few Dr had a few things done. But ever since I put myself in the hands of Dr O'Brien I will never see another one. He is amazing and caring. Will be honest with what you need and not need. Super highly recline recommend!. I travel regardless of distance because I don't want to mess these things up.

I was recommended by my dermatologist to get a mole on my face removed that had been bothering me for years. I go to Brookwood, pay for parking, and pay a $35 copay along with filling out a ton of paperwork. All of this work for Dr. O'Brien to give me 2 minutes of his time and to tell me he will not remove the mole and to get a derm. to do it. He could not be botherered or persuaded. I assume he didn't think my case would make enough money for his time or effort. They wouldn't refund me copay.
