Services
Reproductive Medicine & Infertility Associates (RMIA) is a highly specialized, full-service fertility center serving the Twin Cities metro for over twenty years. Since our inception, we have helped build over 5,000 families. We have a state-of-the-art embryology laboratory and can perform reproductive surgical services.
The physicians at Reproductive Medicine & Infertility Associates are board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). Each of our physicians has completed a sub-specialization in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) fellowship program. Our infertility specialists are dedicated providers who are on the leading edge of advanced reproductive technologies (ART) and fertility treatment options. In addition, each of our physicians has special interests in their area of practice to provide an even more specialized treatment approach.
As fertility specialists, our physicians expertly and compassionately guide patients through their treatment options. Before starting treatment, a series of tests are performed to complete a fertility evaluation. After consulting with your fertility specialist, a tailored treatment plan is created to meet your specific needs and circumstances.
We understand that infertility treatment requires a significant financial investment. Our fiscal options include warranty programs for those who qualify, as well as fee-for-service structured options. We recognize that not every situation is the same. Our staff is dedicated to providing education and detailed financial information specific to each case, allowing our patients to make an informed financial decision.

I am beyond happy and joyful that I was under the care of Dr. Phoebe Leonard at RMIA. My journey of conceiving was not easy, but Dr. Leonard and her stuff made me feel hopeful and very easy through out the process. I just want to thank you and all your staff for being kind and caring, you all make me feel welcome. I will encourage anyone that is looking for the best fertility doctor to come and visit you. Dr. Leonard Thank You! :

I will be forever thankful for Dr. Leonard and the caring staff at RMIA. We started seeing them in 2016 and conceived our daughter during our first round of IVF. We have been back for he past few years trying again for another child. Dr. Leonard feels like a close friend to us at this point. During complications last transfer, she was checking in on me daily via phone and email.
The entire staff was genuinely concerned for me as a battled a scare with OHSS and treated me with such love and care. We are so thankful for all RMIA has done for our family.

We have been so happy with RMIA. I highly recommend the RMIA in woodburry. The staff have been amazing interacting with us during this process. Bree at the front desk and Angelia lab tech have been so amazing making sure we are always smiling laughing and keeping us optimistic. They have been so supportive its incredible! They are truly great people and staff members! Dr. Kim and all the nurses during the procedures have been hands down gentle and kind to us and have made the procedure flow great! Haven't convinced yet but the optimism is high! Thank you guys

I have been a donor here several times and have had great experiences. Except recently with a phone interaction. I need to come in for an ultrasound and need to work around my school schedule, while I know I need to come in during specific times, ultimately it's my job that comes first and not these appointments. The lady scheduling me was quite condescending after I said I needed to be at school during the only two times available she offered a later time at 11 am, which is great.
But she HAD to tack on 'well this is something to think about/consider when donating.' Yes ma'am, I understand, this isn't the first time I've donated, but talking to me in such a way is not appreciated. The tone in which she scheduled me and how she immediately hung up without saying goodbye was very off-putting and I don't deserve to be spoken to this way. Just my experience, this isn't all of the time but I will definitely be more on guard when speaking to staff.

Reception who takes the phone call is extremely rude and inefficient. Think her name was Trisha, she first asks me what I needed and puts me on hold for like 8 min and then comes back asks me what I needed AGAIN REPEATEDLY. And she cuts me off while I am still talking. RUDE. And HANGS UP right after SHE is done talking. HELLO? She emphasizes that the place is of course understaffed like EVERYWHERE ELSE, UH NO. AND it is NOT a reason to treat customer the way she did. She felt like she was forced to work there and unhappy. THIS PLACE IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Infertility is such an emotional struggle on its own. I submitted my paperwork twice on the website and have not heard back after 2 weeks. I called last week and today and both times the operator (press 0 option) was extremely rude. It sounds like there is no communication whats so ever. This is the 3rd fertility clinic I am trying (had rude experience at another and the 2nd just did not offer IUI).
I'm starting another cycle soon and we all know how time sensitive fertility issues are. I'm so disappointed with my experience thus far and I haven't even gotten an appointment. I would rate them 0/5 starts if I could. Don't waste your time.

I am writing this review to share my experience about timing within this clinic as I wish someone would have shared this with me. I have felt from the start with RMIA that I never got a straight answer on how long each step of the IVF process would take and have never received a schedule/timeline to set expectations. So far it's been 5 months since contacting RMIA and I have yet to make it to 1 FET.
It will likely be another month or 2. No one person at this clinic will answer timing questions for you as everyone who works here has a specific role. Often the doctor or business office (depending on what part of the process) will need to approve any scheduling and then the scheduler can tell you what is available on their calendar. The scheduler in some scenarios has a week to contact you just to schedule your next part of the process.
In my experience, I submitted the RMIA contact form on February 8. They have a week to contact you, I never received a call back so I called them after a week. I was provided information, pricing and needed to send all my medical records before I could speak with a doctor. By the time I spoke with a doctor it was March 10. After that my 'program start' was April 1st.
I didn't actually start IVF until May 1st and my extraction was May 12. My particular scenario was a FET. I then spoke with my Doctor about scheduling my transfer on May 25. My transfer was subsequently cancelled due to lab results. I never received a call or email from my doctor about the cancelled transfer. All the communication about next steps goes through a nurse line where you leave a message and they call you back.
Essentially the doctors are too busy to call which is frustrating because often times I will get different answers from different nurses who are not familiar with my program/meds. I have no idea if this timeline is 'normal' for other fertility clinics but hoping sharing this will help others who are going through IVF manage expectations. My feeling is that RMIA has too many patients to provide any sort of personal experience.
Be prepared to advocate for yourself. That said the best part of RMIA has been the nurses and technicians at the Edina location during my monitoring and lab appointments. They are truly the sweetest, most caring people. Wishing everyone who dreams of being a parent luck and crossing my fingers for some of my own.

RMIA was a blessing. Our surrogate had a healthy baby boy in 2019 due to RMIA. The first fresh transfer failed, the second frozen transfer was a success. Dr. Jansen was great, very nice when explaining the process in the beginning. I would say the day to day people were harder to deal with as we were going through the day to day process. I believe part of the communication issues were due to me "monitoring" from Wisconsin and relying on timely results and faxes from Doctors here to RMIA.
The phone calls felt like I cared, and they didn't, but we worked through it all including a snow storm of the century that delayed medications (I am still not sure if that was my hormones being pumped up that made things worse or their bed-side manner really wasn't the greatest.) To summarize, I would do it all again with them, attitudes and all, for another baby boy as amazing as I have. If it went the other way I may be writing a different review. All I am focused on is the results, therefore I couldn't be any happier!

Hands down the best experience I could have asked for. After first receiving treatment from my primary care clinic, which was unsuccessful, I found RMIA to be extremely knowledgeable and swift in helping us achieve our dream of becoming parents! Their staff is amazing, I enjoyed working with each and every person there! They were a positive light during a dark time.
I had my first appointment in June and by the first of November (after 3 cycles) we got our pregnancy confirmation! Three weeks after that. Twins! Highly recommend this clinic to anyone suffering infertility.
