Early eye exams and follow-up vision management establish your child's interaction with the visual world. Visual skills are fundamental to social and educational success, and impact every aspect of your child's early life.
Services
We've cared for the vision needs of infants, adolescents, and teens for more than 20 years. The quality of their visual experience in the world is our focus. Coordination, concentration, and balance are just a few of the visually integrated abilities that promote healthy physical development. The ability to see clearly is only one of the visual skills necessary to succeed in school. A professional eye exam also detects problems with tracking, coordinated use of the eyes, and the ability to re-focus.
Our automated reminder service will leave a courtesy call on your phone two days in advance of your scheduled appointment. If you cannot keep an appointment, or need to change it, we request 24 hours notice. We reserve the right to assess a $35.00 charge on all missed appointments. For proper diagnosis and lens prescription, dilation may be required which can take up to two hours or more. Plan to bring what is necessary to make your child comfortable over that time. After dilation, school age children may return to class.

They do not intimated me before that my insurance VSP is not accepted by them and ended up paying 900$ out of pocket for my kids. I did ask them to check before the appointment but they said we can catch up after the appointment.

Dr. Preston is AMAZING! She was so patient and kind with my 14 year old autistic non-verbal, social anxiety, special needs son. She did her best to make him feel comfortable and not overwhelmed, dimming the lights, speaking so softly, with a quiet, calm soothing voice. Then when we were done she cleaned the waiting room and had the next family to stand in the hall way around the corner so he could walk through their very small waiting room without the added anxiety of a bunch of people to walk by. Well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to find an optometrist that would do a non-verbal eye exam and adapt to his needs.

My kid went today for a routine eye check. Previous year we never had to pay a cent. We have same insurance companies as previous year, but now the receptionist just said they do not take my insurance, so we were charged $203. The doctor is great. But the receptionist has a bad bad attitude. Of course we are not coming back!

The doctor here is extremely caring and very knowledgeable. She has dedicated her whole life to helping not only kids but challenged adults. She has been know on numerous accounts to see patients without charging due to insurance issues and a child's need for care. Waiting for a appointment with her is out a few month usually but it is well worth the wait.

Due to COVID Dr Preston had to downsize her facility/schedule and staff which leads to longer wait times to get certain types of appts. NO more long waits in waiting room. I don't believe there is a pediatric eye specialist around that gets you in right away unless it is emergency. There are some that do not come close to setting standards that Dr Preston does. BEWARE! She is WONDERFUL!

Dr. Preston has been nothing short of wonderful! We had to wait 4 months to get our first appointment but we have been able to get in pretty easily after that. She is kind, caring, and very knowledgeable! My daughter's eye issues have been addressed and we have been equipoise with the tools to improve them and we appreciate all the extra care! Totally worth the wait!

We have been going here for years and we've finally had enough. The actual doctor is very kind and patient. We love her but the receptionist, Andrea, is a nightmare and will make sure your experience there is too. I would tell you all the stories but to be honest, it would cause for some extensive reading so I'll spare you. All I will say is that if you're thinking about it, just don't.unless of course you like being lied to, hate on time appointments, have no desire to have a life outside of waiting rooms/cars or enjoy dealing with next level incompetence. If so, this is the place for you!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I really don't like this clinic. If you plan on making an appointment, prepare yourself for very long wait times. I had an appointment for my daughter at 5pm, it was almost 5:30 by the time we were seen. Mind you there was only one other family waiting. They had the general nurse or receptionist work with us for about ten minutes, then we had to wait for the main doctor for another 15 minutes.

At this point it was almost a 40 minute wait time to see their only doctor. She came in, with no greeting, and that was it. It is very hard to keep a child with hyperactivity and ADHD settled for a over an hr. I will be changing doctors, and never coming back. It has been the same thing every year. Very disappointing!

The wait is never ending. Been coming here for years and it always takes 2.5 hours. It really tests the patience of kids and parents alike.

The doctor here is amazing! Yes, the time here is horrible especially waiting in the room for her to come and see you. Usually takes a maximum hour, which can be quite frustrating if you have kids. I suggest you come early in the mornings instead. Aside from that, she truly is a genuine and smart person. Which is why I don't mind waiting for her. Extremely recommended her and staff very much!

Dr Preston is a unique doctor. She follows a very different style of her kind, and one of the best doctors I have ever seen. My kids are so lucky to have her. Well, I have to say that customer service may not be best when it comes to wait times, which is clear from the other reviews. But, if you are choosing Dr Preston, you are doing that for a reason, and you should not mind the long wait times.

Be ready for a one hour visit at best, and two hours in the worst case. But, you must do that for the care you are getting for your kid. Yes, if the visit was an hour shorter, you could do something else. You have to sacrifice that extra hour every six months or a year, whatever your visit frequency is. In return, you are getting something much more precious.

If your kid needs some therapy that you cannot get from a typical clinic, please stop talking about wait times or how rude the receptionist was. Dr Preston has a PhD on the psychology of vision, and she will have the best techniques if your kid suffers from lazy eye, or inability to focus well. It is worth every extra minute you have to wait there, just be patient.

They are outstanding.but the wait times are long. However, I am a parent of two special needs kids, and I needed a solid professional to perform a comprehensive evaluation. The current lead optometrist is incredibly talented and extremely knowledgeable. The wait times are really the downside of this clinic. You just need to know how to manage the system--I always get the earliest appointment of the day.that way the wait time is decent enough.

Prepare yourself for the wait. After having personally carted two sensory seeking littles all over the place, I still go here because I first want the best care for my kids and second, I manage the overhead (like wait times with Ipads, etc).

Dr Preston is amazing. Knows a ton about eyes and the area around and supporting them. Also had a ton of successful tricks for working with our 4 year old. The exam was thorough. The scheduling, however, could use some work. We got out of our single 4yr olds 2pm appointment at 4:45pm.
