Services
Here at Pediatric Associates, we believe that vaccinations are an essential part of our work protecting children from serious illness, disability and death. We follow the immunization schedule recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Thankfully, the vaccinations are very safe, and are associated with only minor side effects, such as fever and tenderness at the injection site.
For CURRENT (established) patients only, please use the Healow app (practice code GJCJAA) Healow (our patient portal) or the to schedule your child's well check or sick visit. When asked, "Have You Seen This Provider Before?", answer 'yes' even if you have not and select the location.
We are conveniently located in the INOVA HEALTHPLEX building on Walker Lane in Alexandria, Virginia. In the event that your child's medical condition exceeds the treatment that PAA can provide, there is an Emergency/Urgent Care Unit on the first floor of our building.
Pediatric Associates of Alexandria is dedicated to supporting programs that enrich the lives of children in our community. PAA supports numerous local children's programs in sports, the arts, nature, and for children in need. Here are some of the programs that PAA is proud to sponsor. PAA is very happy to be able to support ALIVE! to combat poverty and hunger in the City of Alexandria. This organization provides food and emergency help to Alexandrians in crisis, and gives shelter and support to homeless mothers and their children.

We've consistently had a frustrating experience at this place. We've been taking our son here for the past 5 months. We've tried to book with the same provider for continuity of care but often our appointments gets switched for different providers versus the ones we've booked with without any update ahead of the appointment. It's pretty frustrating because often we get competing advice from different providers.

Totally understand everyone has their own style and it's up to us as parents what to follow but as first time parents it's tough to know what to do when your care providers aren't on the same page on recommended next steps. For example, one provider strongly recommends meds and another one strongly advises against it. Also the front desk staff is extremely inept - often messing up appointments for the wrong location, we have to call multiple times to confirm the times and correct location because we've showed up when we were told the appointment was for only to be told it was for a different time/different location.

The kicker was this week when after 5 months we were informed that the insurance card on file with them didn't match our insurance cards because it was never scanned in. 5 months and countless appointments later we had to refill intake forms again because of some mess up on their end with the insurance information. No idea who or what they've been billing to for all these months and they had no explanation for why this wasn't flagged or caught in their system at any of our prior appointments even though we've paid copay every time. Hopefully we don't have months of medical bills coming our way.

Anyway we are promptly looking for another pediatrician in the area. Save yourself the headaches with this practice, even though the providers are nice, it's not worth the troubles.

Used to be pretty happy with Pediatric Associates of Alexandria. Now getting an appointment is a multi-day process that requires spending hours on hold. Very dissapointing in trying to get our kids an appointment.

This is a good practice. The staff is engaged with you while seeing/treating your kids. I never feel rushed or like we are not important. They are also extremely accommodating and can always get my kiddos in same day when they are sick.

Absolutely impossible to get a referral via their procedures. Constant phone tag. After a month of missed calls (and multiple instances of no voicemails after the missed call) it appears they don't care if a child receives therapy services.

If you're making an appointment for more than one child make sure it's true. Both my kids needed to be seen and only one was seen. The doctor said she was "busy" and couldn't see my daughter. After the front desk had already said they'd both squeeze into one and when arriving the same thing. The nurses are very dry they're probably just busy. I get it. But if you're around sick kids be a little nicer. I've been coming here since 2013. I'm pretty disappointed in how much things have changed.

We appreciate the helpfulness of the front desk staff, friendliness of the tech, and attentiveness of the doctors. We've had no issues getting appointments during COVID. At one point, they had all well visits at one location and sick appts at another. That made me feel good about their concern for our children's health. They've been really good about booking 2+ kids at the same appointment slot, too. Great practice all around!

We recently switched to Pediatric Associates and I am so thankful we did! Everyone from the front desk staff, nurses and doctor were phenomenal. Genuinely kind, efficient but not rushed, and knowledgeable.

This office has great doctors and absolutely horrendous customer service. The management is non existent for their administrative staff, so inefficiency and inadequacy runs full scale from appointment scheduling to improper billing. Last straw was them closing down the office and not notifying patients with existing well visit appointments. For parents juggling life right along with the rest of the world, this is inexcusable. Quite literally a waste of time to book an appointment here, so save your energy and choose a different practice who values their patients and their time.

The providers are great, but the support staff is too overwhelmed and the whole practice suffers. 45+ minutes wait times to make an appointment or call the the office with a question; takes weeks and multiple requests to obtain forms or records, billing issues, etc. The quality really started to suffer in early 2021 and every appointment I've made things are worse and worse going forward. We'll be switching practices, but only after we get all of our requested records in the estimated 4 week turnaround.

This location is INCREDIBLY horrible. I brought my sister and my 6 month old nephew out in the middle of winter for his appointment at 1:20. Mind you, we live in Maryland so we were fighting mid day traffic. There is a 15 minute grace period after every appointment, which we were well aware of, however my sister called the office to notify them that she will need that 15 minutes.

I understand that traffic is not the offices personal problem and that the grace period is et in place to insure that appointment times stay on track. Me, my sister and nephew arrive to the office right on time with about 6 minutes to spare. We enter the building and the elevator is down. There was no email that was sent out giving all appointments a heads up and to be super early for their appointment today.

Nothing was mentioned when my sister did a courtesy call to notify the office that the 15 minute grace period will be needed. No courtesy was extended back. We make it upstairs at exactly 1:38 and we are told because we are 3 minutes behind, we will need to reschedule. aside from the elevator being down. We all know that even with an appointment, once you check in. you normally wait 5 or 10 minutes for the pediatrician to be ready to see you so I don't think 3 minutes would have hardly cut into or pushed the next appointment back any. NO UNDERSTANDING THAT WE ARE CARRYING AROUND A 6 MONTH OLD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER AND FIGHTING TO MAKE IT UPSTAIRS BECAUSE THE ELEVATOR IS DOWN.

I don't think I need to say much more. Its pretty clear how unprofessional and COLD HEARTED this was. We were sent all the way back to MD and my nephew was not looked at by his pediatrician.
