Just thinking about getting lasik can be a scary process but with a knowledgeable friendly staff and awesome doctors at LaserCare eye center I knew my eyes would be in good hands. After the procedure Jannie always called and checked up on me to make sure my vision wasn't blurry and that I was using the eye drops accordingly. I would recommend anybody looking into getting lasik to reach out to them first you won't be disappointed. You can finally wake up in the morning and be able to SEE!

Absolutely loved my experience here! The staff was incredible, specifically Ashley and Brandon who both helped me prepping for surgery and answered all my questions! Dr. G was amazing and really great at making me feel comfortable and calm through everything. I couldn't recommend them more! My new vision is truly a gift and I am so thankful for the people here who made it happen!

I had my Smile procedure here! The process was easy and quick. I was so nervous but the staff were so helpful and great! I am so pleased with my results. I was able to go back to work the very next day! I recommend this place for sure!

Love this clinic! I had SMILE done at this office in 3/2020. Quick, easy, and everyone is so sufficient with their work. Very kind people. I even had my husband come and have his lasik done here too. Since then, we both come once a year for our annual eye exams. I'll only be coming here for my eye exams! Highly recommend these doctors!

Successful cataract surgeries and followup care have been outstanding. Office staff is helpful, friendly and efficient. Costs seem to be in line with area providers. Easy to get and change appointments when necessary

I went in for a consult last Thursday, before I knew it I was doing my pre-op on the same day and was set up for #LASIK on the following Tuesday! I had my #eyesurgery yesterday and today I can see across the room for the first time in 15 years. I can't believe I waited so long, don't wait JUST DO IT! The entire team with LaserCare eye center (I went to the Plano and Irving locations) really made me feel comfortable.

Everybody was really professional yet warm and friendly and made sure I was comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. The procedure itself was so fast, they talked me through every step of the way and it was done in no time!

I had a wonderful experience receiving LASIK at the LaserCare Eye Center from Dr. Gicheru. The entire process was done very quickly and was trouble-free. The staff was wonderful, notably Alexandra, Neil, Brandon, and Dr. Chennankara. I will certainly be recommending Dr. Gicheru and LaserCare Eye Center to my family and friends who are also interested in LASIK.

This place is amazing! Dr. Kyle Maclean is very professional nice and friendly! My vision is getting better! and also there are bunch of wonderful stuff! Thanks for Ashley was so sweet and nice to take care of me! And the front is always smiling! There was two gentleman who helped me checked my eyes was super friendly and gentle! What a disappointment this was. I was so ready to get my procedure set up and be done with glasses. After speaking with Dr. Gicheru, I decided that getting mono vision was best for me. When the day of the surgery came, I was nervous - as to be expected. The doctor seems to have very little patience and lacks the ability to reassure and make one comfortable.

He basically seemed like he was in a hurry. During the procedure, I guess my eye moved a bit and he sternly told me "don't move. I almost lost suction". He sounded like he was scolding me. Anyhow, after surgery, the follow up appointments were not with him. In fact, I never saw him after that day. And over the weeks, my vision declined. I raised my concern and was told my eyes were healing and the prescription would adjust over time.

I eventually went back to my regular eye doctor because I was in need of magnifying glasses. He was shocked to see the results of my exam this time from times past. Apparently they were worse than before the procedure. I am now more farsided than before - and back in glasses. I was supposed to have one more follow up appointment with LaserCare but told them there was no point due to what all was going on.

I never got a call from the office manager or doctor to ask me any questions. It's just like they got their money, didn't work out, too bad for me. So based on my experience, I would have to say I wish I had gone somewhere else. Very disappointed.

Just had my SMILE laser eye surgery, everything went really well. I'm really happy with the staff and doctors they are very l knowledgeable. I did my research and asked questions and everyone was very helpful and I'm glad to have done the procedure.

I had an appointment with Dr. Sidney Gicheru. He did not show up. They did not inform me. They collected insurance upfront. Waited for over 2 hours in a room. Another doctor showed up. There was no apology. They gave me a price tag of about $9000 for cataract for both the eyes. I consulted more talented ophthalmologist and got it done at half the price. This clinic is not straight forward.

Update! Got smile procedure done today and it went so well. I can't express enough how much I enjoyed being treated at Laser Care Eye Center. Even in the procedure room they are talking you through it, and have a staff member there dedicated to walking you through it and encouraging/supporting the patient. It really helped with my nerves, thank you Brandon! I would recommend this office to anybody searching for lasik, smile, or PRK.

Had cataracts removed. Was told two options for lenses. One would correct distance vision but require reading glasses. The other would mean no reading glasses needed either but cost 4 times as much. I mentioned bad astigmatism in one eye had kept other doctors from doing LASIK on me. More than one had said it was too bad to correct. Doctor here said he could definitely correct it with the high priced lenses so I opted for the higher priced option based on what he told me. Didn't correct the astigmatism.

So a second surgery, that cost me another fee, still didn't work. So now I wear glasses. Not just to read. Most all of the time to correct the astigmatism. A lot of money for the end result. But my distance vision is great now. I should've gone with my gut feeling and chosen the other option.

This is an addendum. Perhaps there is an understaffing issue but I must note it because it is so vastly different from my other experiences at this practice. At the conclusion of my appointment I requested an itemized recipe because I didn't receive one and was told the back office will work on it and get it to me in a few days. It's been over a week and I haven't heard back.

I called the office and was transferred to the back office manager. She was brusque and hurried me off the line. This is NOT typical of this practice but it is concerning if this is the new trend for office.

I had a terrible experience at Laser Care Eye Center today with Dr. Gicheru. Apparently, he has horrible bed side manners and really no sympathy or care for his patients. That's how he made me feel. I will never go back to this doctor and I will make sure my husband doesn't either. I'm always fair and honest with all my reviews and am advising you to go elsewhere.

I had a terrible experience trying to book the first appointment which took me three tries! And if you're trying to call one location, you'll get connected with a different office. They couldn't find my first appointment in the system so they squeezed me in. On my second appointment- they completely missed sending me the reminder or appointment email so I didn't make it.

Then at my rescheduled appointment I WAITED ONE HOUR to see the doctor. Waste of my time. Why do they think that their time is more valuable than their patients? And, it looked like DR. gicheru wasn't even planning to rsee me because a doctor shadowing him received me in the room; when I asked for him, both, his assistant and the other doctor looked puzzled and then his assistant went to call him in so had we waited without her calling him In, he likely wouldn't have seen me. He's short and curt; He may have been bothered because I changed my followup to be with him and not a young associate of his. It's my insurance and I'm free to spend with whomever I please.

Initial consultation with his associate - sweet and caring. Yes, she's quite nice. She seems to be a young doctor. I'm thinking she's more than capable but still a young doctor so inexperienced. I would have appreciated she recommend a few things I learned by reading about this condition online and also coming by useful research conducted by Harvard. Just a bad experience overall.

I had my LASIK at LaserCare eye center in April 2016, I was so happy with my entire experience. The staff and dr Gicheru were fantastic, professional, and knowledgable. I was so nervous going into the procedure, but after I was done all I could think was I wish I had done this sooner! It has been the best thing I've ever done for myself and I'm so happy to finally be free from the chains of glasses and contacts. DR. Gitchrue is fine, but must concur with the another review on his office staff specifically The lady whom works the front desk and and his office manager, they are very rude and disrespectful. As they lied to Dr Gitcherue, and said I am very loud and disrespectful, and cursed. You can ask the technician David who helped me all the time, I am always pleasant when calling and going to my appointments. The ones that gave good reviews just stick around for a while and they office staff will do spmething rude ti you to.

I had LASIK done a month ago and Dr. Gicheru was amazing. The staff was also great, they walked me through the entire process. Every staff member I dealt with was caring and thorough. I would definitely recommend everyone I know to come here.

I cannot be more grateful and happy to have chosen Dr. Gicheru to do my surgery. The staff is fantastic and they make you feel so comfortable and less stressed. Vanessa is the sweetest and coolest and explained everything in detail as well as Dr. Gicheru that was going to happen. The atmosphere is great and exceptional and I recommend anyone that is ready to get rid of their migraines and red/dry eyes due to glasses and contacts like myself to go here. I wake up and feel amazing to be able to see as soon as I open my eyes! 100% recommend!

The staff is fantastic! They are friendly and concerned about giving the best information. Vanessa is very knowledgeable and explained process and procedures very thoroughly. The atmosphere is professional and gives me the assurance that they are good at what they do.

Dr. Gichuru is fine, but his office manager is beyond awful. Dishonest and extremely unprofessional. I was told that I must set up and use the portal for their office - that having a portal is required of all patients, and that it's not their fault, because the government requires it. Of course this isn't true - I have seen several doctors in the past year - all of whom politely request that you set up a portal.

No one else requires it. When I told the office manager this isn't standard practice at other doctor's offices, and I didn't want to set up another portal (there are way too many portals in my life already, to add a doc I see only once per year) he became very combative and extremely rude, Over the years, I've put up with mistakes and problems with the office staff because it's convenient and I liked the doctor.

A few years ago, they even sent me flowers to apologize for their poor treatment. But this was the last straw. After about10 years as a patient in this practice, I've now switched to Dr. Bhatia, who is wonderful - great staff and wonderful care.

My experience at LaserCare Eye Center was nothing short of fantastic. I have never been to an ophthalmologists office that was so efficient! I was called back at my appointment time and my entire visit lasted about an hour. Dr. Gicheru and his staff were very informative and compassionate. Dr. Gicheru took the time to explain and ensure that I understood my condition and treatment options. LaserCare Eye Center is amazing and I would recommend this place to everyone!

My review is only on Tami Nguyen, Optician in the Optical Shop located inside LaserCare Eye Center. I would definately recommend her, as she has proven to be a true professional. She worked with me until I was satisfied, and made a believer out of me that custom reading glasses are far better than any store bought pair. She is a class act, knowledgable, follows up and is always cheerful.

Always a pleasure to see dr Sidney Gicheru. Office has expanded and very modern. Staff of wonderful and very friendly and do their best to get you what you need. Staff is very attentive to getting you the best care for your eyes
