Terrible service. My doctor made an appointment for me at this facility. I was in the lobby, checked in and waiting when they decided to leave me a voicemail to tell me that they do not take my insurance. Extremely inconvenient and tells me a lot about their attention to detail and lack of procedure. I asked one of the ladies at the desk to pass along a message to someone who had been helping me and she laughed at me twice while I was in a lot of pain and could only open one eye. The cherry on top of an already inconvenient experience.

In the waiting room, just watched them turn a woman away for her appointment - she was about 80 years old. She came in for an appointment that she thought was at 9:15 but it was at 9. She arrived at 9:18. They said she was too late and would need to come back - when she asked if the doctor knew she was told he was with a patient, so the front desk got to make the call. They rescheduled her for three weeks out. Disgusted at how she was treated.

Appointment with Dr. Gross. Simply a wonderful, down to earth person. Always impressed how a doctor can explain complex issues in simple, understandable words. Also, hats off to The Clinic for running an efficient operation. I was in and out of The Clinic in 30 minutes. Finally, thanks for observing that I completed a rather elaborate on line medical history and wasn't forced to do it in the office. Note to future patients. read The Clinic's email communication.

Have had my eyes checked here for about 10 years and am primarily a contact lens wearer. I have seen three of the four eye doctors and have had a good experience with them. I usually get my prescription then purchase glasses wherever I may find frames that I like. For the last eight years I have been satisfied with the contact lens fittings but the person - Michael - that had been doing that retired about two years ago.
Since then I have not had good luck with contact lens fittings here. My eyes are not horribly bad or unusual- some very mild astigmatism and near sightedness - but my experience is that if you have anything slightly out of the ordinary with your eyes, the satisfaction with contact fitting may be a dice roll. The push seems to be toward the higher end lenses, and especially the silicone ones.
I was told about 5 years ago that I needed to head to another lens as my current Bausch and Lomb was going to be discontinued. Five years later, it's still being sold. I'm now wearing silicone but I'll be going back to something different. I have been told outright by the fitter that the optics are not great with silicone but the material is new.
The comfort is poor and the vision is mediocre. I can take one or the other, but not both Next time I will probably have my eyes examined here, then go somewhere else for a contact lens fitting. Also, I suggest you purchase the lenses that Edina Eye prescribes from another contact lens supplier. Edina Eye will not price match Walgreens or any of the other companies, you will pay full retail. Check the Yelp hidden reviews for this business, you will find a similar review related to contact fitting issues, but for some reason Yelp opted to hide it.

I was very impressed with the how the eye exam was done with Dr. Ristad performing the entire eye exam without the usual assistance of a tech. He was not rushed as I've encountered elsewhere and did a great job of explaining the results as the exam progressed. This was my first visit to his office and I will share my positive experience with family and friends.

This review is for the optical center, not the clinic. They do a great job here. They have a lot of experience matching glasses to your face, years in the business. I was really impressed at how they had ideas immediately on which glasses would look best on me, recommending color, shape, size, etc. I ended up with a great pair of glasses. Word to the wise - park in one of the ramps because there is limited parking in the huge lot in front of the store (Lunds has most of it). Also, they are busy so plan ahead to either go early or wait.
Sign in when you arrive. On Saturday, they close at 1. The glasses are more expensive than other places like Park Nicollet, but you get what you pay for in terms of selection and service. The frames are about the same price, it's the actual lenses that were more. All in all - a great eyeglass shop that has earned my repeat business.

I have been bringing my daughter here for years and have always been happy so I decided to have my eye exam done here also. What a bad idea. My experience was nothing short of horrible. I received an eye glass perscription to correct my distance vision which is nice, but the problem is that I can't see anything up close. I was told that I should have told them I needed bi-focals, not distance correction.
My mistake, I thought the purpose of the eye exam was for them to help me discover what correction I needed. I have worn glasses to read for over 40 years, I hadn't realized my distance vision needed correction. I have been told that if I want an appointment to determine what prescription I need for bifocals I will have to pay an additional amount as that isn't part of the eye exam.
You will also pay extra for contact fitting. The lady at the Burnsvlle office who fits the contacts was about the rudest, most condescending person I have ever met. After I put in my first pair of contacts and told her I couldn't see she assured me that was the correct perscription and there was no reason I couldn't see. Of course it turns out that she was fitting me for distance and I need to see up close but she said she can only fit me for what the doctor prescribes so distance correction is the best she could do.
She made me feel so stupid that I left with trial contacts that didn't help me at all, I just threw them away. So now I have had my annual exam, I can't see with my eye or contacts prescription and ended up just buying a new pair of cheaters at the drugstore. If you are an optometrist and can determine you own prescription then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a doctor who will help you understand what you need you should look elsewhere.
