I don't usually seek medical advice off of the internet, but now I am so glad I did. I could tell in less than 2 min on the phone that Dr. Segler was the real deal. I live in the SF Bay Area (where Dr S used to have a typical podiatry practice I believe). I had been to multiple podiatrists and an orthopedic surgeon, one of whom told me that I was seeing too many different doctors. Dr. S knew several of the doctors I'd already seen and I appreciated that he was willing to share his professional opinion about some of them which was validating.

I felt in my gut that no one had correctly identified the problem--but even more so, the solution. I can't tell you how helpful it was to get to talk with a knowledgeable doctor for 60 minutes, not the usual rushed 15. Dr. Segler didn't discount my "gut'" feeling that I wasn't correctly diagnosed. That was helpful in and of itself. I am a 58 year old female hiker (not runner) and Dr. S completely valued my strong need/desire to remain active.

But beyond that, what really helped me is that he recommended several specific things for me to do to gather more information about my injury/foot, prior to seeing yet another podiatrist. I was particularly helped by his view on boot-wearing in my situation. Dr. S also pointed to the kinds of questions I should ask going forward. Finally--I was pleasantly surprised and grateful that Dr. S gave me a follow up call, and he also talked with me later for about 10 minutes when I got new information. In sum, I highly recommend Dr. Segler and I wish he showed up earlier in my many google searches!

Simply put, Dr. Segler is one of the best medical professionals whom I have ever had the fortune to consult with. If you are a life-long athlete, with a history of ankle problems-- you will be in heaven. After a week of doing his rehab program and protocol, I am at least 50% better. A while back, I spent three years of back and forth injuries with only gradual improvement.

This time after getting injured, I didn't want to waste time with average doctors. He will come to your home, examine you, and provide a diagnosis based on instinct and years of experience and will answer every question.in ways that other doctors can't. He has that rare combination of a strong and curious intellect, personal athletic understanding and commitment to excellence--and he understands how much attitude affects healing.

I googled "mobile podiatrist", to care for my Mom's feet and trim her overgrown toenails. Doc on the Run came up and I gave the number a call. Dr. Christopher Segler answered the phone and listened quietly, as I explained my Mom's needs. (Mom's previous "caregiver" was neglectful, never cared for her feet and never told me that her toenails were way overgrown).

As Mom has Dementia and is fully bedridden, I can't take her to a doctor; so we needed someone to make a "House call". I explained mom's situation and even though Dr Segler didn't normally travel out that far, (from SF to Modesto), he agreed to drive out to see her. He was on time and adhered to the Covid protocols of the Board and Care, where mom lives.

Mom is usually fearful of new people and gets agitated quickly. However, Dr Segler was so great with her, that she hardly said a word! He explained what he was doing and told me what I should do in the following days. Mom got great care, smiled the whole time and her toes are looking so much better. Dr Segler doesn't bill health insurance; so you'll need to pay by Cash, Check or Credit card. But for the price, he was MORE than worth paying out of pocket! Give him a call.

Okay, Dr. Segler is hands down the BEST doctor I've ever had. I've been running since I was 5 years old and I'm in my 40s now, so you can only imagine that I've had. well. a few "snafus" (for lack of a better term) along the way. I first came across Dr. Segler some 8 years ago after a very terrible injury that involved a cortisone shot gone wrong (from a different Podiatrist).

The doctor administering the shot hit a nerve and left me in excrutiating pain. I literally left that appointment on crutches. This was the beginning of a series of other resulting complications and LOTS of confusion, questions, and desperation. I was running (okay, hobbling. def not running) around SF from appointment to appointment trying to get the help and support I needed, which was not easy given how un-ADA friendly SF is.

Every doctor was just telling me to sit on the couch and chill and wait it out. If you're a runner or die-hard athlete who doesn't want to atrophy or is addicted to and passionate about your active lifestyle, you know this isn't an option. Enter Dr. Segler. My savior! He did a house visit, recommended ways I could still be active and maintain strength while not sacrificing the pace of my recovery.

He recommended some water running, the alter G to help me pace properly back into running, weights, etc. He heard me and saw me. I felt so supported. No joke, he saved my sanity and gave me hope and got me back to running! The second time I needed Dr. Segler was about 2.5 years ago. I had been in Germany and was riding a bike and my wheel got stuck between cobblestones (you can't make this sh*t up) and I bailed.

In the process, the peddle gashed my shin to the bone. I got stitches there, but upon my return, I called Dr. Segler to come to the rescue. And rescue he did come! Again, with tips and tricks and suggestions to keep me moving while also supporting the healing process. He also came back to remove the stitches! Home service is a game-changer when it's hard to navigate the city.

The third time. (told you I had snafu's) was 2 weeks ago. I was on my way to bed and kicked the heck out of something on the way and broke my toe. I knew it right away. We've all had bad stubs. This was different. I went to bed and called Dr. Segler in the morning. I was already dreading waiting in the emergency room for an x-ray, but boom.

He sent me an order for a nearby radiologist and I had the images within a few hours. We jumped on a zoom call later that afternoon and we dorked out on the images. Yet again, full of great advice and a get-better-soon plan. The best part is that he is great at explaining things. He doesn't doctor-splain! He lets you ask questions ad nauseam and he never gets impatient.

In sum, this man goes ABOVE & BEYOND to support you mentally and physically in your recovery. He is a ray of sunshine on a day or injury that feels like doomsday. Words don't do justice for how thankful I am for Dr. Segler and his medical expertise and personal thoughtfulness and kindness. I said it once and I'll say it again, he's my Savior! ps.

His podcast is rad and his website is full of useful information, so check that out too! pps. I thought I had already written a review, but couldn't find it! So here it is again!

Dr. Segler (aka, Doc On The Run) is absolutely the best. I know it might sound hyperbolic or extreme, but he saved me! As someone who loves running more than anything, he helped me and empowered me to do everything I could while I recovered from an injury to look at alternative ways to keep my strength and endurance. He heard me and listened to me and didn't tell me just sit on the couch and atrophy like so many other doctors had suggested.

He's solutions oriented and gets runners. If you're depressed or discouraged by an injury, talk to Dr. Segler. He'll help you see and get to the light at the end of the tunnel! Maybe you'll even run there;)!

Christopher Segler is amazing: First thing he said was: Send me a picture. He diagnosed a callous, and athlete's foot! He then recommended a course of action without asking for payment, or, for even an appointment commitment. He told me exactly what to buy and how to use it. Here comes the kicker: When I am ready for laser on my fungus toenail, he will come to my house. I feel in such competent and caring hands, finally! Caroline Allen

I credit Dr Segler with getting me running again. After a bad broken bone involving a joint in my foot, I was unable to walk without pain for more than 18 months. Getting back to my normal trail runs seemed out of the question. My Kaiser podiatrist was out of ideas. I contacted Dr Segler, who helped me get the right imaging, and identified an issue the Kaiser doc had missed.

He was a fantastic advocate through the process, giving me his personal number and regularly taking time on the phone with me to answer my questions about imaging, etc. It's clear that he truly cares about his patients. Ultimately he came to my home, took a mold of my foot, and created orthotics that greatly reduced my pain and got me back out on the running trails.

Now I run pain free. I appreciate Dr Segler for his attention to detail, generosity with his time, expertise, and optimism in the face of other doctors who were telling me I might never run again, or might require a joint fusion. 10 years later, I am still running pain free. I owe that to Dr Segler and would highly recommend him to anyone (particularly athletes) struggling with foot and ankle injuries.

Outstanding doctor. He took the time to explain my injury so that I would understand what happened and how to heal properly. Dr Segler put me in the driver seat of my recovery and helped return to "good as new" form. He has since also helped my mother and wife. The latter, when faced with a nasty sprain; he showed up at our house and spent extra time to ensure excellent care. The doctor is a genuinely nice guy and an expert in his field. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Think twice about spending any money on aesthetic procedures with this doctor. I spent almost $2k over several years on laser treatment with Dr. Segler and my toenails are in a lot worse condition than when I started. Do research first on laser nail treatment - it rarely works, so save your money. You will get sold a story on laser treatment, but I would not recommend it.

Dr Segler's sharing knowledge regarding footwear & the dynamics of the foot were certainly helpful, however, treatment was largely ineffective as the diagnosis was incomplete. A couple of weeks after my last visit with Dr Segler, an appt. with another podiatrist determined that the symptoms I had been experiencing were what appeared to CRPS (would that they had been observed straightaway as early detection aids in getting a handle on the condition) & a subsequent MRI showed the main issue at hand.

Home visits are a bonus when one isn't ambulatory. Dr. Segler doesn't work with insurance companies; patients pay out-of-pocket. This fact is to be taken into consideration when booking appts, booking phone consults, etc.

Dr Segler is a life-saver. I have had pain in my forefoot for the last 2 years. It's been the bane of my existence, putting limits on my life and leaving me unable to perform most sports. I have been to multiple doctors, underwent several X-rays & MRI scans, but none of it proved useful. Turns out I was mis-diagnosed previously. However, Dr Segler was able to home in on exactly why I was experiencing forefoot pain. I'm currenlty following his treatment and I'm confident that I can get back to my active lifestyle.

If you are experiencing foot problems, I highly recommend Dr Segler. He is talented, experienced, thorough and has incredible attention to detail. He actually spends the time to really sit down with you and talk over any issues you might have and then some. I really felt that I was being listened/taken care of, and not treated as just another cog in the healthcare machine.

Dr Segler came and did laser treatment on my toenails this afternoon. He is awsome! He chit chatted with me and my sisters who came to see what a 2017 Dr.'s Housecall is all about. Dr Segler made me feel comfortable and gave me detailed instructions on the procedure and after care and provided some medications to ensure that the fungus would be eradicated.

I am a real person this is no fake review. The laser treatment is not bad. When he went over the nails with the laser it got a little hot at some points, but its killing nail fungus. Hey, No pain no gain. Thanks Chris

I had a horrible mosaic wart on my wart for almost 8 years! I tried everything: apple cider vinegar, duct tape, chemical peels, burning, freezing, doctor cut it out, mediplast pads. I honestly gave up the last two years. Then I googled a last resort method (which should have been my first method, I wasted so much money on this wart over the years) it's called Cantharidin and it's basically beetle juice that is applied to skin and causes a blister. Dr. Segler knew exactly what I was talking about!

It took two treatments unfortunately, this was one stubborn wart. It's fully healed now, all I have is a small scar from the many years it was in my foot. Maybe it'll go away in time, but I'm honestly 100% satisfied this is off my foot. I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with this wart! I will say this: the blister is no joke.

I would not recommend doing this in summer vacation months like I did. I spent 4 days sitting in bed, I'm a hairstylist and it was too painful to stand all day on my feet. But if you had a desk job maybe return at day 3. But I do not regret my decision, I have great feet now! Thanks!

My son badly injured his foot and Dr. Segler came to the house and patiently explained the treatment and fitted him for a boot. I was pleased with his attention. I paid the bill and sent him the form to get reimbursed by insurance. After waiting a month and a half, Dr. Segler filled out his section and mailed in the form. It came back to me a few days later denied because he didn't indicate on the form that it was an emergency.

The insurance company tried to call him, but his mailbox is full so they couldn't leave a message. I sent him an email.silence. It seems once he gets paid, Dr. Segler can't be bothered any further. If you want to get reimbursed by your insurance, expect problems despite what it says below on his website: Insurance companies (especially PPO plans) will often reimburse a large portion of house call services as an "out-of-network" provider.

At the conclusion of your visit, we will provide you with a complete itemization of all charges that you paid for in a format known as a "superbill." The superbill will outline all of the required diagnosis codes (called ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes) and procedure codes (called CPT codes). With these codes that we provide for you, the insurance company will be able to process the insurance claim that you submit to them.

Dr. Segler came out to my house to perform a laser procedure for my toe nail fungus. The whole time he explained what he was doing. The whole treatment took about 2.5 hours which went by very fast. I experienced very minimal discomfort with the laser, but nothing i could not handle. It was mostly painless. We spoke almost the entire time he was doing the procedure. A little of everything. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get a laser treatment for toe nail fungus. Thank you Dr. Segler!

Dr Chris was just what my mother in law needed she's 90 years old. She no longer gets out for a pedicure. Because of her age her toenails were very hard and long. Cutting and examining her feet was an over due preventive procedure Dr Chris was gentle and professional. I recommend him highly. My mother in law is happy and more comfortable - Priceless!

Doc came out to help me to clip my toe nails so to prevent ingrowns. The way he cut them was extremely short, where you can see the imprint of where the nail should be. AND, rounded into The very corners of the nails. When I asked him why he did this he said it was to prevent the corners from wedging inside- very aloof. He never even called back to see how I was doing.

I felt a very cold shoulder after he left- and it's confusing because he was very pleasant and seemed very experienced. I'm still unsure why he would set up my toes to get ingrowns, knowing my hx. Anyhow, you'll find that most reliable medical advice online indicates that this practice of both clipping nails too short and rounded is very dangerous.

Dr. Segler was a lifesaver for my 88 year old Mom who needed care for her toenail that she ripped out of her bed & was bleeding all over the place. Since she was so frail there was no way she could go to the doctors office. I called & got back to me in a timely manner. He came out and took care of the wound & trimmed her nails as well. It took no time at all.

He said he could call anytime if there's a problem, gave me aftercare instructions & that was it! Would highly recommend him if you need him in an urgent situation! Thanks Dr. Segler for your help!

Wow -- it's REAL HEALTH CARE -- and in my own home! And in the USA! Dr. Segler is knowledgable, caring, listening, insightful -- and humble and patient with my own ignorance as he embodies care for my health. He is a living reminder that this is possible here, and that courageous leaders like Dr. Segler exist, despite the systemic problems in this country's corrupt power structures.

I hope he is the spearhead of a renewed model of health care in this country I look forward to next time (though I plan to keep my feet healthy with my new knowledge). :) Many thanks!

I wish there were more Doctors like Dr Segler who did house calls. When he came to my home- on a Sunday- he was very warm & personable. He took time to listen & explain things clearly. Highly recommend! **For anyone who gets the laser toenail treatment, you need to be very vigilant about how you care for your feet after the treatment to prevent getting reinfected!

Do not expect to get the laser done and continue doing all the stuff you did that caused the infection or IT WILL COME BACK! Take the doctor's recommdations- purchase the steri shoe & use it, buy the spray, change your socks, etc
