I rarely had any problems with the doctor other than being so busy, she was generally always late for my appointments. She provided detailed information and instructions for every procedure performed. The front desk representatives were somewhat condescending and often presumed the patient to be illiterate when speaking to them.

I have been a patient of Dr Alice McKnight for years. I have been satisfied with her but no the personnel. Over the past few weeks I have been trying to make an appointment and the phone weren't working accept around 12:55 it says they're at lunch. I went to the building and the doors are locked. Not sure what to make of this.

Along with the last reviewer, I too am pretty sure they're closed permanently. I tried multiple times to call them, left 2 voicemails, 2 messages on the patient portal, and 1 virtual request for an appointment. Never heard back. Never got any messages about closures or reduced hours. Awful patient care, there's no excuse for not communicating with patients.

Extremely annoyed with this place, they don't pick up the phone and they don't have anything on their website or anywhere saying that they are permanently closed I even showed up to the office because I needed an appointment. They are clearly permanently closed and just forgot to notify all of their existing patients. What a joke

I had a wonderful experience up until my delivery. After 24 hrs of labor and prob 10 hrs of HARD labor, Dr. Siegel broke up my cervical scar tissue (a KNOWN issue). My baby literally POPPED out less than 20 minutes later. In the mean time, lots of things went wrong: 1. My baby's heartbeat plummeted (due to Cervadil), 2. I had to be put on continuous monitoring, 3. Meconium had leaked into the fluid requiring a neonatology evaluation, and 4.
I finally caved and got an epidural at the very end out of sheer exhaustion. All of that was preventable had he just broken up the scar tissue at the very beginning. Thank god everything turned out fine in the end.

Thank you for you nothing, Physicians for Women. I am a patient at this facility since August of 2020 (during COVID-19 pandemic). The staff here are rude, with no manners and treat you like they do not want to work here. It makes you feel not welcomed. On top of being a patient here, Dr. Salgado recommended me go to a endocrinologist (they provided details on who to speak with that they recommend; which it seems they were never open either) and gave me trial birth controls to try.
I ended up having to research my own endocrinologist in Fredericksburg area. She (endocrinologist) prescribed metformin since my insulin was high, testosterone was slightly elevated, and my estrogen was low. I kept having the worst menstrual cramps and having to call out of work. My employer was requesting FMLA forms to be filled out which my endocrinologist could not fill out since my condition was related more to menstruation cycle.
I ended up getting in contact several times and never heard back from them. Once my HR generalist kept pushing me to get these forms filled out. Both of the women from Physicians for Women, Stephanie and Alonniah, denied my FMLA forms to be filled out since Dr. Salgado wasn't treating me. I have left 2-3 voicemail messages for their manager, Laronda.
No one has gotten back to me. They give you the runaround and don't have any customer service skills. They lack empathy, respect, and manners. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. If anything, please research another gynecologist in your local area or any other area that is HIGHLY reviewed. Do not waste your time with this place. I barely wanted to type this review but had no choice since I do not want other people having headaches and stress from a place called "Physicians for Women." Best regards to everyone who reads this.

The doctor was dismissive and brushed off my concerns. Gaslighted me into thinking that nothing was wrong with me. Didn't do tests that I asked about. For the whole 2 years after that appointment, I lived thinking that was I going through was normal. Until my new doctor (different practice) listened to my concerns, ran the test, and saw that I was not, in fact, paranoid and all my concerns were legit. Thanks to Physicians for Women, I went untreated for years and lived in pain and discomfort. Wish I could give them a zero.

Dr. Siegel is the best! All these years I've always felt uncomfortable with gynecologists. I'm glad I found this practice! He delivered my baby last year and made me feel comfortable and helped every step of the way. I've seen almost all the doctors at this practice and I don't have any problems with them at all! Definitely going back here with my second pregnancy!

My wife has been going here for the past 3 years and we love it, especially the new office that they are currently in. Dr. Segal delivered our baby boy, he was efficient, kind, funny and helped put my wife be at ease considering how stressful pregnancy can be for the husband; I felt the staff and all the doctors were very nice, caring, and attentive.

I loved my doctor, Alice McKnight, but I wish she would move somewhere else with a better front desk staff. Everyone is unprofessional. They don't call & confirm appointments; which may not be important normally but is extremely necessary now considering the current pandemic. I shouldn't have to call you to see if you all are taking patients again.
The front desk staff are also extremely incompetent. Like extremely. They do this screening where they ask you these questions about covid symptoms that anyone can lie about & still get served, but if you work in the healthcare field & are honest & say that you work with people who have been exposed but you have been tested & are NEGATIVE, they won't see you because they're worried about the other patients.even though i an NEGATIVE.
Regardless of the recent, the front staff was an issue for my first appointment. When I call the just seem to be annoyed that you are asking questions & respond with attitude with then prompts me to have one too. Like I said, love the Dr., but they deff need to do training with their front desk staff or hire new ones.

This practice is the most unprofessional place in the DMV. I've been hung up on, yelled at, rescheduled on, and had my care completely mishandled. Dr. Hibshman never listened to me or my concerns and ended up misdiagnosing me - this ended up making my condition worse and now I need surgery to correct the problem. I never felt like I was being listened to or valued.
This office makes a living out of cranking patients through the office, without actually helping. If you don't have any issues or plans of getting pregnant, great! Do not go here if you want a doctor who treats you like more than a number and money in their pocket. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional office staff. I have been incorrectly billed and scheduled on several occasions and the office couldn't care any less.
Add the horrible staff to the mix, I will not be coming back to this office ever. Please save your efforts and time and go elsewhere. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

I made an appointment with this doctor through zocdoc where she was listed as in my network. I talked to someone on the phone who confirmed my appointment. When I showed up for the appointment they told me they couldn't accept my insurance even though the doctor accepted Aetna because TWO YEARS AGO the billing was merged with a different company.
You would think two years would be sufficient time to have updated the information on zocdoc and prevent issue like this. Very frustrated as I just made special arrangements for this appointment.

I feel somewhat neutral towards Dr. Hibshman. She was nice and explained things, but I always felt rushed. Her office is terrible though. If you call, there is no option to just leave a message for the doctor or her nurse, you have to be put on hold to talk to appointments who then transfer you to leave a message. Once I left a message it would take days to get back to me.
I once called and asked what cold medicine I could take while trying to get pregnant and someone got back to me three days later. My GP called me back within a few hours when I finally called his office instead. This was not an unusual occurrence, it often took days for someone to get back to me. I had an ultrasound appointment where the technician told me I had a certain condition that was upsetting news.
I asked when I could schedule my next appointment and was told the doctor would have to look at the results then call me first. It took about three days for me to a message from her nurse saying I needed to schedule a follow up appointment to talk about the ultrasound results and then I couldn't get an appointment for another two weeks. One time I had a late period, but a negative pregnancy test, I called and left a message to ask how late I should wait for it to be before scheduling an appointment.
I never got a call back, after a week I just scheduled an appointment. There was one instance where I got a call from my pharmacy saying I had a new prescription from Dr. Hibshman's office that I was not expecting. It took 7 phone calls of me leaving messages and someone calling back to leave me a message to finally figure out the office had called in the prescription for me by mistake.
At the end of me seeing her (Early 2016), you couldn't get through to a person even if you called during business hours. I had to call and leave a message saying when I was available for an appointment and wait for someone to call me back. This wasn't just once that I couldn't get an actual person on the phone, it was at least 3 times.
All in all I spent hours playing phone tag with her office and wasted a lot of time trying to get pregnant. It really sucks when you are trying and it takes days to get calls back and to get results of tests and then weeks to schedule appointments for an ongoing issue.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Hibshman and her office staff when I brought my teenage daughter in for her first GYN exam. My daughter's physician recommended Dr. Hibshman so I had no reason to think this would be a bad experience. When I called to make the appointment, I clearly stated that this was for my teenage daughter and I wanted to make sure that the doctor was sensitive to her needs.
I was assured that this would be the case. When we arrived, we waited at least 30 minutes to see the doctor. The nurse called my daughter in for what I assumed was her height and weight check before her examination. About 5 minutes later my daughter walked out and said she was done. I asked what happened during the appointment. She said the doctor asked her a few questions and gave her a prescription for birth control pills.
There was no examination and the doctor didn't ask anything about her health history. I went to the receptionist and asked if I could speak with the doctor. I was told that if I wanted to speak with her, I would have to make another appointment. I asked how it was possible for the doctor to prescribe medicine for her without asking about her health history and without explaining to her how (or even why) she needed more medication.
The staff was dismissive and made absolutely no attempt to help or explain. My daughter and I left the office in tears and threw out the birth control pills in the lobby (she did not want or need them). To top all of this off, Dr. Hibshman's office never sent me a bill. Almost 6 months later, I received a notice from a collections agency telling me that I was in arrears and that my credit record would be damaged for nonpayment. Talk about the icing on the cake. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

This doctor as well as all the doctors I have seen at physicians for woman are great! I go to physicians for woman in Alexandria and all of their doctors are amazing! I've seen Dr. Hibshman one time and my experience with her was great. She goes straight to the point which is something I really liked and she was patient and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Hibshman is amazing! I don't normally write reviews, but I was so impressed with my visit today that I had to write one. I had put off having a pap for years because I hated going to the gynecologist. My exams in the past were uncomfortable and the doctors seemed annoyed when I would ask questions. What I discovered after seeing Dr. Hibshman for the first time was that a visit to the gynecologist isn't so bad.my other doctors in the past were just not very good.
She made me feel so comfortable and the whole process was quick and painless. I prefer a doctor who can get an exam done quickly.no need to take your time down there. She was cheerful and kind and seemed very willing to thoroughly answer my questions. Because of her I no longer dread going to the gynecologist. I'm so glad I found her!

Do NOT go to this doctor. After 4 years of putting up with her and having the worst experience of my life with this practice I want other women to know how truly terrible this office is. Dr. Hibshman could care less about her patients. She rushes through your exams, does not listen to your concerns and will refuse to see you even if you have an appointment.
Her advice after having a difficult time handling fertility issues was "cry and eat a piece of cake"- are you kidding me?! Not only that but I listened to her scream about her nurse practioners in the room next to me saying all kinds of unprofessional things, told me that she loved not having her husband around during one of her pregnancies so I should be happy that mine is deployed (again- are you kidding me?!) and yelled at ME when the pharmacy lost my prescription and I had to ask her to call it in again.
Thank goodness I went with my gut and got a second opinion with my fertility issues because through her rushed exams and unwillingness to listen to what I was telling her she was WRONG about what was going on with my body. The staff is rude, nurses don't return phone calls and they lose your files. One time while I was in the waiting room a couple walked out after being left in the sonogram room for 30 minutes. You would have better service in a back alley in DC.

I had an awful and scary experience with this doctor and her nurse. I was not properly informed of my test results and went through a lot of anxiety because of a lack of communication. I tried to contact the nurse for clarification and she never responded. I was straight-up told something untrue about how my condition would affect the future of my relationships.
In addition, I was told I was going in for a simple procedure but they did a more involved procedure that was painful. Not only that, but it caused side affects that I was not warned about, which caused me further anxiety. I had to spend a panic-driven session Google searching. Plus, I got to be surprised by a huge copay. I have since found a new doctor who I explained everything to, and she assured me that what Dr. Hibshman told me, was nothing she had ever learned or heard of regarding my condition and, in fact, the opposite was the case. Additionally, my condition has cleared up and my new Dr. said she finds it hard to believe it was bad enough, only 3 month earlier, that I needed to go through the painful procedure I went through. It is a very personal experience to go to the Gynecologist and I am horrified that my health ever was in such irresponsible, negligent, and down-right dishonest care.

Dr. Hibshman is my regular doctor and is very nice. HOWEVER, good luck trying to get an appointment with her or any of the other doctors here. I had an emergency and went to an ER clinic two weekends ago. After treating me they stressed it was extremely important for me to follow up with my regular obgyn to take further action. When I tried to make an appointment, the front office staff told me a date three weeks away.
Then they told me they would try to 'fit me in sometime sooner' and would call back with a time and day. they never did. The first question the staff ask over the phone is "ARE YOU PREGNANT" if your answer to that is 'NO' they won't give a damn about you. I really feel this place is focused on pregnancy, so if getting care for 9 months out of your life is all you need, maybe this place will work for you.
But for the other times in your life that you need medical care, these people are not in your corner and will not be there for you. Prior to this incident, I had visited the office 3 times. Never was the wait shorter than 30 minuets, and one time the wait ran over an hour and a half. at which point I asked how much longer the wait would be and they realized they had.surprise surprise. FORGOTTEN about me.
When I finally saw Dr. Salgado, she could not even remember who I was, what my problem was, or the treatment she had prescribed for me. That's why I switched to Dr. Hibshman, who up until now I was very happy with. Dr. Hibshman, if you read these reviews, please do something about your front desk staff, they're terrible. And PLEASE make time for your desperate non-pregnant patients!

I wanted a obgyn that was close to where I live and this location is quite convenient to 395. Dr. Hibshman is good at conducting pap smears in record time which is helpful, but I agree with earlier reviews that comment on her rushing around. She isn't in the exam room for very long so there isn't really a personal relationship with your doctor.

I'm surprised by the mixed reviews of Dr. Hibshman. I've been her patient for nearly 5 years, and I followed her even after she moved from D.C. to Virginia (which means a longer commute for me). I guess I could see why people might interpret her as "rushing, " but I honestly LOVE the fact that she gets the annual pap -- an pretty unpleasurable experience -- done so quickly!
I personally don't need to feel like I have a great relationship with my OBGYN, but I've found Dr. Hibshman to be a doctor who asks about my personal life. I've always asked questions and had them answered. She's never pushed one drug over another, outside of what matched best with my preferences. I don't find her nurse to be the most personable person, but whenever I've left voicemails with questions on the phone system that others have referred to, I've always gotten a timely and well-informed response. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

Dr. Hibshman at first seems very friendly and caring. I even chose to have her deliver my baby after seeing her once but after seeing her several times during my pregnancy I realized that it felt more like "acting" than genuine interest in the patient. She forgets what she has said in previous appointments, she rushes, and she doesn't take the time to read your record carefully before talking to you.
She recommended that I should have a c-section because the baby was going to be too big and the day of the scheduled c-section as I was waiting to be taken into the room she told me that maybe the baby wasn't that big after all. That maybe it looked big because I was so small. (seriously?) That day I had trouble breathing because I started having contractions.
I should l say I am very short and my baby was over 9 pounds. The first thing she said when she walked in was "are you freaking out on me?" thinking that my breathing problem was due to anxiety, even though I was surprisingly very calm. She made me feel guilty for having problems breathing. She said if I didn't start breathing better they would cancel on us.
So unprofessional and rude. The actual c-section was fine and the baby came out healthy. I'm sure she is capable as a doctor but her manners and relationship with the patient need a lot of work. I'm switching to a different practice because as other reviewers said they rush, probably because they have sooo many patients, the phone system in terrible, and you truly feel like another number.
I do have to say that Kathleen (the head nurse) is fantastic and I liked Dr. Seigel but since I couldn't see him all the time. Dr. Salgado and Dr. Hibshman were my favorite at first and turned out to be my least favorite at the end. I really hope they understand that having too many patients really brings quality care down.

I visited Dr. Hibshman for an annual exam, but I also had the ulterior motive of checking the practice out for when my husband and I decide to start trying. I can't relate to one of the previous reviewers who said that Dr. Hibshman actually talks to her and doesn't rush - I have never felt MORE rushed by a doctor in my life. I would be surprised if the total time she was in the room exceeded 3 minutes.
There were several issues I wanted to discuss, but I didn't bring them up because the whole thing was such a whirlwind. While you could say that this is my fault because she did technically ask if I had any questions, she asked it in such a passing, cursory way that it did not open the door to conversation about anything. If you truly just want a bare bones exam, or at the other end of the spectrum if you're pregnant, this doctor might be ok.
She seemed nice. But if you want to discuss anything at all and feel like you're being listened to and taken seriously, I don't recommend seeing this doctor. I realize that pregnant women are these kinds of practices' bread and butter, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out from my chart that I am married and entering my late 20s - investing in winning my loyalty now could definitely pay dividends later. I want a doctor who's more interested in my health, so the search continues.

This office is terrible! Long waits, terrible phone system, and a total of 3 minutes with the doctor, all of which were her pushing the drug sesonique, witch is crazy expensive and has cost me over a grand in the last 3 years and i have insurance. And on top of that they cannot submit a claims form to insurance correctly. I gave them 2 tries and they screwed it up both times costing me hours on the phone with my insurance company, trying to resolve the issue.

Dr. Hibshman is a pretty average doctor. I liked her but she didn't stand out as wonderful. Her staff, on the other hand, is absolutely horrendous. I would not recommend going to see her solely so that you can avoid her terrible staff. They are rude, unprofessional, not helpful and many should have lost their jobs by now.in what professional office is it acceptable to intentionally hang up on a patient? and that is just one of many grievances that I listed in my review of Physicians for Women.
