Dr Kotecha did my Lasik surgery and I couldn't be happier. I was about to go to another big practice, but my friend recommended her to me. So I went for a visit. She was great and explained everything to me. She answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. She gave me her personal email and cell phone number and answered all of my additional questions promptly.

She did her best to accommodate my schedule. She is a skilled surgeon and I am very happy with my vision. No more glasses or contacts:. Her office gets busy at times, so occasionally have to wait a bit. My only regret is that I didn't do this earlier!

Haha, wow. So no, it wasn't that simple. At the end of my appointment, Dr. Kotecha did mention my eyes were dry and recommended I use lubricating drops, but said I was fine to try wearing contacts again since the ulcer was gone. She showed no real concern about the dryness or the inflammation that I later found out is actually really serious.

The ulcer was gone, so in her opinion, she was done, I guess? So very shortly after she told me I could try contacts again, I went back to MyEyeDr for an eye exam to order some. At two different appointments there, two different doctors told me my eyes were far too dry and inflamed for them to give me contacts, and they both refused to do so. They both prescribed me steroid drops in increasing strengths, which Dr. Kotecha apparently didn't think was necessary.

The drops improved the issue a little, but not by much. On my third visit to MyEyeDr, they told me I can wear dailies at my own risk, but that I still have a problem with dry eye/inflammation that needs to be closely monitored and will probably need to be addressed by a specialist (like an opthemologist. which Dr. Kotecha is.) My question to Dr. Kotecha is: how could you possibly have glossed over what has turned into a major saga that three different doctors have actually been really concerned about?

The discrepancy there makes no sense to me - THREE doctors against one here are telling me that no, my eyes are not really fine to be wearing contacts and that I still have a problem that could ultimately damage my vision if not resolved. I don't know what happened here. Maybe because it wasn't major corneal surgery (like Lasik where she's making thousands), my case wasn't a super high priority for Dr. Kotecha. All I know is that if I do have to circle back to another opthemologist, it definitely won't be her.

This is not the first time I see Dr Kotecha, however, the front desk is the worst! I arrived 30 mins before my appointment and the ladies didn't ask for my INS until 11:05 then I see everyone being called in, then I asked how long do I need to wait? She said I don't know, we haven't verified your INS. No one came and asked me what was going on until I asked!

When I initially called to schedule my appointment, I asked then if they needed my INS info? And she said no! So, the doctor is good, but if you have the front desk that cannot handle the business it makes the doctor look bad!

Today was my first visit to Dr. Kotecha; my previous ophthalmologist closed his office and I needed to find a new doctor for a routine exam. I had no problem making an appointment. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room to see her. She was VERY friendly and knowledgeable. She gave me a thorough exam. I was very pleased with her care.

I've been visiting Capital Vision for three years now. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. It's obvious that they respect my time and I really appreciate that. Dr. Kotecha is courteous and friendly as well as knowledgeable about my eye condition. They've taken the time to provide me with various solutions and I feel empowered knowing the options for treating my eye condition. I would definitely recommend them!

This is the first doctor of any kind that I've stopped seeing for any reason other than relocating out of town. I found Dr. Kotecha to be snobbish, arrogant, impatient, and more interested in "selling" than "treating." I went to her for 2 years and although I felt that way after the first visit, I decided to give it another try the following year and it was the same experience.

I recently switched eye doctors and was determined to have an eye disorder that Dr. Kotecha no doubt failed to diagnose and in a case where an earlier diagnosis would have been extremely helpful. Also, as others have also noted, her staff is incompetent and rude.

I was recommended to Capital Vision because my regular eye doctor at Rosslyn Eye Associates (I would give them 5 stars) was going to be out of town. It was very easy to get an appointment at Capital Vision. When I arrived, the front desk basically threw paperwork at me and then I sat in the empty waiting room for over 15 minutes when I did not see a single other person waiting.

Once I was taken back to the room, I waited another 30 minutes to see the doctor. The doctor then spent about 10 minutes with me and did not seem to have solutions for my issue. Due to the amount of time I spent waiting here, followed by an unsatisfactory appointment, I will not return.

I completely agree with other Yelpers that the staff here is a big problem. I was a reluctant patient for several years--during which time the rotating cast of receptionists have: (1) given me an appointment at day X and then recorded day Y in their books, thus causing me to show up on the "wrong" day (2) submitted me to a collection agency without so much as a phone call or email (3) repeatedly broken promises to "get back to me" If you like people who treat you as a number rather than a person, then Amy Kotecha is your doctor!

One of the best eye exam experiences I've had in a very long time. Booking an appointment was quick and easy. Once I got there, Dr. Kotecha and her staff were super friendly and were thorough with my exam; I didn't feel like they were trying to rush me out of there. She very is professional and intuitive in her field. Everyone should have a periodic and thorough eye exam as part of their routine primary care.

I recommend going to Capital Vision! They can determine what areas of your vision needs assessing, tests and examinations. If you tell them that you have been having "X" problems in your vision/eye, they will be able to pin-point "Y" cause. I couldn't decide between two types of contacts, so Dr. Kotecha told me to test-try them both and return for a follow-up just to see which I preferred.

My follow-up was quick and simple - she ordered my year's worth of contacts for me on the spot, and sent me a rebate for my contacts. I saved a tone of money and had really great service. I could not be more satisfied. Definitely recommending to family and friends.

I was a bit scared after reading other reviews here but decided to keep my appointment. That said, Dr. Kotecha was wonderful. I have been having unexplained eye issues for about three months, and have seen other opthamologists and a neurologist at this point (with no answers). Dr. Kotecha did an exam that was far more thorough than the other opthamologists I have seen, and she took a great deal of time in talking with me about my symptoms, medical history, and diagnosis. She seems a bit on the quiet side, but she was very friendly and had a caring bedside manner. I will absolutely continuing using her as my opthamologist.

I would like to give zero star to Dr. Kotecha. She misdiagnosed my wife and gave her the wrong prescription for glaucoma. That was not her first misdiagnosis. She recommended her to go through more detailed tests but she still told my wife that she had glaucoma. We got a second opinion from two other doctors. They said that my wife eyes are OK. Don't trust what she diagnoses.

Dr. Kotecha was one of the few Doctors that actually takes time with patients and explains what she's going to do to you. My dad was very happy after seen her, he had a metal foreign body in his right eye and she removed it with out any problems also prescribe drops not even a week after his eye was feeling much better.i recomend Dr Kotecha to anyone that has eye problems.
