My experiences have always been nothing less than outstanding. Treatment has been extremely professional while at the same time making me feel as though my personal care is paramount. Every staff member provides courteous attention and demonstrates a caring demeanor toward everyone who enters the office. The balance between personal and professional treatment is perfectly reached in this medical practice.
When in need of medical care and seeking trustworthy advice, everyone wants to feel welcome and secure in their selected professional. I can recommend without qualification Northern Virginia Family Practice.

Very early in 2020, I had a few things that just didn't seem right. It also didn't seem like something that required "urgent care" which is where I had typically visited a doctor when I moved here in 2018. Having heard about concierge medicine and after a little research, I chose NVFP and in particular, to see Jessica Ware. She was warm, interested in what I had to say, a great listener and straight forward.
One of my issues initiated being sent off for a mammogram--results came back unremarkable, except they were questioning something they were seeing in my right breast. No need for immediate action, but they did want me to come back in 6 mos. By then we were in a full blown pandemic and I, like many, had no interest in going to any medical office if I didn't have to.
I should have been back in for the second mammogram by October 1--Jessica was calling me in November asking why I had not scheduled the 2nd visit. I did. And on Dec. 31 I learned I needed a biopsy which was scheduled for the end of January. When I told Jessica the new, she quickly got the appt moved up by 2 weeks, which spared me mentally maybe more than it did physically.
And it was cancer, but I was lucky.it was what they call Cancer Zero. I still needed more biopsies and I still needed surgery but I know too well that getting that 2nd mammogram saved my life as I know it. And I know I would have continued to delay it without the push Jessica gave me. I had surgery, am on meds which should prevent cancer in the future.
I still see Jessica for all the other stuff that just pops up from time to time. She's super smart, funny, reasonable.and she really cares about her patients.which comes through each and every time I see her. I can't say enough about my great experience with Northern Virginia Family Associates.all of my interactions with staff there are always positive, without the frustrations and wait times most of us are used to when it comes to seeing a GP. And again. Jessica's persistence and care likely saved my life.

I didn't think it was possible to feel so comfortable and trusting of a primary care doc until I found this practice. I see Jessica Ware and she is fantastic in every way: she is highly attentive and listening during appointments, always on time, returns call promptly, and is so empathetic and compassionate. Once she called to tell me she was reviewing the notes from my previous appointment and had some follow up questions.
I've never had a practitioner go back into my chart on their own time and follow up about it. Everyone in the entire office, from Cathy in the lab, to all of the nurses and front desk staff, are helpful, kind, and professional. I can rest easy knowing that my health is in totally capable hands.

Finally, I was scheduled to receive my first vaccine shot. I went to Northern Virginia Family Practice for my first shot. I was greeted with a friendly smile in the new, large, and super clean facility, and was taken in for the my shot right on time. I barely felt the injection. I then was instructed to sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes to be sure I didn't react negatively to the vaccine shot.
I was fine. The entire experience took only about 20 minutes, and I was then on my way home. I always feel I am in good hands whenever I visit Northern Virginia Family Practice.

I have seen Dr Z for years, and am very happy with the results. He is a general practitioner who pays attention and provide useful and insightful council. If I have specific issues, I see specialists since Dr. Z is a GP. One warning, I have had mixed results with their phlebotomist - sometimes good, sometimes too rough and sloppy. Suggest getting the blood work done at another lab where they have more skilled staff. Very happy with Dr Z

My first couple of visits with Dr. Zweig several years ago were very good. He seemed attentive and truly interested about my health and preventative measures. At that time, I was training for a century ride and I was in pretty decent health with the exception of asthma. The past couple of years, however, have been quite stressful due to multiple terminal illnesses with loved ones, job loss, physical injuries, and hitting menopause.
My most recent experience with him was a nightmare. It was so awful, in fact, I seriously doubt if I will ever go back. 5 months ago, I developed a debilitating back problem which turned out to be multiple herniated discs. At that time, I was also dealing with unemployment, the loss of my father, the loss of a dear friend, chronic insomnia, and feeling like I was going to burst into flames at any moment.
After multiple cortisone injections, I started developing migraines (who wouldn't with all that crap happening at once?), so I made an appointment with Dr. Zweig's PA, who was very patient and helpful. My follow-up appointment was with Dr. Zweig. He acted like he had never seen me before, seemed quite irritated when he came in the room, and told me that I should get therapy to help me deal with anxiety (I'm *stressed*, not anxious!).
He also told me that my insomnia was caused by sleep apnea and not menopause or stress, based on a report in my file from a sleep study done a couple of years ago. I told him that I was told that I had *mild* sleep apnea, and that it was not enough to be causing my asthma, nor would I need a CPAP. Dr. Zweig got quite belligerent at that point and told me that the report doesn't lie and I obviously didn't read it (I actually never received a copy of it - I took the word of my pulmonologist that ordered it).
I told him I wasn't trying to say that he was wrong, but I am obviously concerned and questioning his diagnosis, since it contradicted what I had been previously told over 2 years ago! I asked him for a copy, but I never got it. He then told me that my main problem is that I am morbidly obese (his words), and that I am obviously not serious about taking care of my health and need to see a nutritionist.
I told him that my weight was not due to my lack of *knowledge* of nutrition (my diet consists mainly of organic, fresh ingredients, no fast food, no soda, minimal sugar, etc.). I am a stress eater. Plain and Simple. He then asked me what I had for dinner the night before. When I told him, he got belligerent and told me I made poor choices (which I hadn't in that case).
He showed absolutely NO empathy for the fact that I'm going through some temporary rough times, and he was completely dismissive on what role menopause may likely be playing in this. I have never been treated so rudely by a medical professional.

I saw Kenneth once because he was highly rated by a number of sources. During the meeting I explained I have multiple sex partners of both genders to which he asked "Are you promiscuous." Clearly he isn't as friendly and courteous as the other ratings have mentioned. I'm definitely not going back to him.

I saw Dr. Zweig once, for an "initial consult" that he requires for all new patients. While there, he asked if I was currently taking any medications. I mentioned I was taking a decongestant, as I was getting over a cold. He listened to my heart/lungs, and that was the end of it, or so I thought until I got my bill. I was charged over $200 for a "respiratory infection" visit, and since it wasn't coded as a preventative care visit, I had to pay for the entire thing (I have a high insurance deductible).
I was shocked and offended that a doctor would purposely up his fee in this way. The only good thing was that I was able to dispute the bill fairly easily with his billing department. They changed it to an initial consult visit (for which I still had to pay $50) without blinking an eye, which left me with the impression this happens frequently. I never returned.

I like Dr. Zweig. I've seen him for a variety of things for several years and he's always been courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and honest. The facility is in good condition and they have several services (including a free call-in time in the morning) that make them stand out from other doctors i've had: www.gimg.com Overall I would recommend him
