Our mission is to effectively meet the needs of individuals with attention deficits and learning problems by offering thorough and accurate evaluations, as well as a variety of non-medical intervention services. Though we appreciate the role medication can play in the treatment of ADD/ADHD, we value the use of education, clinical services and support before trying medication, or in conjunction with medication. Our staff has had many years of experience working with individuals with ADD/ADHD and learning problems.
Services
Knowledge is power. To manage effectively, parents of children with ADHD and learning problems (and individuals with ADHD or LD) need to obtain good quality information about these conditions. ADDVANTAGE offers parents and professionals up-to-date information about ADHD and LD through small classes, presentations for community groups, educational counseling, and a library of books, videos and reprints.
Thorough psychological evaluations are necessary to diagnose AD/HD and learning problems. Comprehensive evaluations identify or rule out other important problems and contribute to more accurate behavioral planning for school and home interventions. The evaluation process begins with a meeting with both parents.
When a physician refers a patient to ADDVANTAGE for assessment and/or treatment, he or she can expect a thorough evaluation with clear and timely communication about findings and progress. Behavioral, emotional and/or interpersonal comorbid features will be assessed and addressed, if needed. With permission, we will alert primary care physicians and involved specialists to their patients' status when they become involved in our services.
Individual counseling can help people with ADHD and/or LD to understand the nature of their conditions and bolster their self-esteem. Helping clients to create ADHD-friendly home, school and work environments in which to function best. Addressing issues including anxiety, anger, depression and interpersonal difficulties that often accompany ADHD.

Left multiple messages with Dr Butnik, finally called me back and said he does not take insurance but his wife does. Great! She would call me. Never did, I've called 2 times a week and have left mesaages, no answer, no call back. This has been a 3 week ordeal, this Dr came recommended but sheesh for a place who helps ADHD people this is too much work just to talk to someone. Help me, I shouldn't be so frustrated before I've even walked in the door.

Dr. Hedrick was great! She made the whole process of getting tested stress-free. She included very comprehensive and easy to understand terminology for my results. She even suggested additional testing to give me a clearer answer for my results. She also took her time answering my questions. Highly recommend!
