EDWARD G. MURPHY is is a board certified CardioThoracic, Vascular and General surgeon with a long-standing interest in venous disease. He first developed symptoms of severe pain and aching in his legs early in his general surgery residency and was diagnosed as having venous insufficiency. Since then, Dr. Murphy has undergone several laser treatments along with sclerotherapy.

I went to the Southwest Vein Institute for a consultation and was told by the office that the consultation should be covered by my insurance. I ended up receiving a $350 bill for the consultation because my insurance only discounted the visit. My suggestion is check with your insurance yourself (which I now realize I should of done) before you visit.
The people in the office were very nice and helpful during my visit, I only gave a 4 star rating because I feel like they should of told me to call my insurance to find out for sure how much it was going to cost before my visit.

I've been coming here to Southwest Vein and Laser for years now. Dr Murphy is a caring physician who takes his time with his patients and listens to all your concerns, he never rushes through an appointment. I really can't say enough about the entire staff, especially Melinda, Patti and Pam who are so friendly and kind but still professional and keep everything running smoothly in the office. When I didn't have a ride to one of my appointments, they sent a driver for me. That's unbelievable in my opinion! I highly recommend this medical facility.

I was recommended to this DR. by my Company American Airlines. Before I went to this Dr, you could barely see my veins, and I wish to God I would of never gone to this DR., because ever since, I have issues with my veins, the reason I did go because my insurance was changing and I wanted to make sure that I got this taken care of, since I am a flight Attendant.
It was the worse experience ever, my veins looked worse immediately which I knew they would, but I had been going to that Dr. for several months, and nothing was changing, in fact my veins were getting worse and worse. And then this happened. They had scheduled me for an appointment, and every time you had an appointment you would need to take Valium, so your day was shot each time you got treated, I arrive at The Dr. office, and they said that they forgot to tell me my appointment was cancelled, I was not happy, because this day was ruined, I would be sleeping all day for nothing, a wasted day. The girls at the front desk were so mean and snotty, and catty, so this didn't help matters with my experience either.
