Dr yang and his staff are consummate professionals, and besides that, they're just plain, warm people. Everyone in his office is kind and engaging. I had both eyes operated on for cataracts, and both came out perfect. The facility where the operations take place are equally professional and caring. Dr yang has a cute sense of humor and his assistants are warm, engaging and thoughtful. I would certainly recommend Dr. Yang and crew to anyone considering cataract surgery.

I have been going to San Jose Eye institute for almost 2 years. Dr. Yang and his staffs are professional and friendly. Dr, Yang explained the exam result clear and answered all the questions. Highly recommended!

I had cataract surgery by another eye surgeon 3 years ago and did not go with the plan for the other eye since I had a minor complication. I went to see Dr George Yang and I nearly cried with gratitude since Dr Yang can fix my vision. His office has digital charting, updated equipment and a very friendly, competent staff. Dr Yang used another staffer to scribe my eye exam, a real plus in my opinion. Andy the technician was very upbeat, delightful and very skilled.

I work in health care and I can tell you that I was very impressed with the entire office. I am very pleased Dr Yang is now my ophthalmologist. He was most informative and responded to all my questions and concerns. So grateful for the referral.

Long over due review. May 2020, the early phase of the pandemic here in the bay area, they already mastered organization and safety for their patients and staff. Impressive. Their professionalism and care helps relieve the patient's own stress and fear (during a time of needing to physical distance and fearing Covid-19, at the same time in dire need of eye care as well) Their full line of staff were extremely thorough with care and communication to ease their patients (in this case, my mother). redundant statement here. ANDY (the technician) was able to communicate with my mother in Cantonese, which helped so much because he can better explain things than if my sister or i were to relay any messages. (In peak 2020, we were not allowed to accompany her during her visits either). Surgical center for the procedure (penninsula eye surgery center) also had a full line of courteous staff to help guide along the way to the procedure.

All super sweet and easy to speak with. DR. YANG is VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. The procedure went very smoothly and my mother has only great things to say about Dr Yang and team. Fast forward to 2021, she had to do the same procedure though for the other eye. This office still holds the hype as mentioned above. Thank goodness my mother doesnt have a third eye to have to go through this again, though you bet we would only have her come back to Dr Yang and team.

FIRST! The rating of 1 star was NOT directed towards the Doctor but his front desk personal You'll need to know that Dr. Yang is an AMAZING eye surgeon (I didn't have surgery by him). I do know he is Very knowledgeable, very friendly and resourceful. HOWEVER his front desk staff are Horrific, insensitive, pushy, unprofessional and down right CRUEL I have NEVER! had such treatment by a staff at a Doctor's office.

I arrived and was taken to a room, then his assistant needed to see the Negative results from the Covid-19 test I took but between my blurry vision and no internet I couldn't upload the results as fast as I wanted to, so the personal said she will wait. At first she sat down waiting then left but she kept coming into the room every minute while I'm struggling to get the results.

That was not the worset! I came with LYFT, a transport company because my vision was too blurry to drive. When I was finished I ordered another Lyft to go home but there was a wait of about 6 minutes. I asked the personal at the front if I could wait inside by the exit door as it was getting dark fast, it was raining cats and dogs, my pupils were dilated by the Doctor and very very cold.

I was SHOCKED when she turned to me and said NO! YOU CAN'T. I was stunned by the answer and the way I was spoken to. How one woman could be so hurtful, disheartened, mean, insensitive and right down rude. If it was the Doctor himself he would never force me out like the staff member did! I am APPALLED by the behavior of the staff at The San Jose eye Institute. Shame on you for treating a patient so badly!

Absolutely bad service not from Yang but his receptionist. I have been having issues with driving at night so made an appointment to be examined. I called last month and was told I would be seen on July 15. So I showed up on 7/15 and phoned from the parking lot per signage on the door. I informed the receptionist I was there for my appointment (my Dr had sent a referral over - about my night vision issue).

After being put on hold for 5 minutes she comes back online to tell me my appointment isn't until next year as Dr Yang said he would see me in 2 years at my last appointment. I informed the receptionist the reason for my appointment was a new issue! She said she would get back to me within the next two days and of course never called on Friday. I think Dr Yang and Dr Decker need to know of the shoddy service given to their patients as it does affect us! I took a day off work for that appointment! :(

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes with Dr. Yang and as everyone else has written about him- I think he is the best! He is very caring and was able to share his knowledge about my issues in a way that was very understandable. Because I had had 2 previous eye surgeries- ALK- a million years ago and Lasik a while ago- he explained that my eyes may not be corrected as well as they could be.

I am very happy with the results and his professionalism and expertise throughout the exams and procedures I also have to say how wonderful Andy is! He is upbeat and skilled at his job and I will miss my interactions with him. He was very patient with me and helped calm my nerves before the different tests. I cannot say enough good things about him.

I found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. I felt safe and cared for at the surgery center both times and want to acknowledge the awesome nurses that I had on both visits

I have been with Dr. Yang for more than 5 years, I couldn't be more happy working with him and his team (everyone at the clinic is amazing, especially Andy) to take care of me. Dr Yang is truly the most amazing doctor; he is compassionate, intelligent, and treats the whole being (emotional, mental and physical). I am really grateful to have him as my doctor.

This review is only almost 2 years late (b/c I am terrible at leaving reviews) lol BUT nonetheless, Dr. Yang is AWESOME! I had cataract surgery in Jan'19 at the age of 38 :( Dr Yang was really helpful at explaining the process of surgery, how I had possibly gotten to this point with my eye and what to expect afterwards. Each appointment with him was enjoyable & educational and I felt very comfortable with everything. I look forward to my next follow up appointment & would definitely recommend him to anyone in need!

I have been a patient of Dr. Yang for almost 10 years. He is professional and knowledgeable. His medical assistant Andy always has a smile and is happy to answer the numerous questions I have. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Yang's office if you are looking for a ophthalmologist.

Dr. Yang and his staff are amazing! I have been a patient of Dr. Yang's for a few years now. I have severe dry eyes and have seen multiple ophthalmologists, but they never successfully helped me manage my dry eyes like Dr. Yang has. He is extremely knowledgeable and truly cares about my wellbeing. He has provided me with the best treatment plan and medication to live life more comfortably.

Refused to see me in spite that I probably have an eye infection! "We do not see new patients." What? I thought this was a doctor's office a place the sick can get help Must be all cosmetic.

I have been a patient of Dr. Yang's for many years and highly recommend him. He repaired my detached retina. I have not had any issues since the repair. He follows me closely. He also is a great teacher in explaining the rationale for his recommendation and genuinely interested in my opinion. Dr. Yang is the best!

I have been seeing Dr. Yang for about 2 years. He's been extremely helpful in treating multiple conditions. Andy, Dr. Yang's medical assistant, recently helped me go to battle and win when my insurance company suddenly decided to stop covering a very necessary medication. Thanks to Dr. Yang and staff!

Been going to Dr. Yang for years. He is a straight shooter who will tell it like it is. He also did my cataract surgery and the results were better than I expected, which is great considering I had lasik previously which adds an additional level of complexity. I have a number of issues with my eyes, including dry eyes & retina issues and I'm comfortable with Dr. Yang's knowledge and service in treating me.

I was referred to Dr. Yang a couple years ago by my optometrist, and I am definitely glad for that referral. Dr. Yang is an excellent ophthalmologist who takes the time to listen, examine every aspect of your eyes thoroughly, and creates a great care plan for treatment. He is always open to suggestions and works with you every step of the way. I find his technicians and staff to be friendly and efficient, and if you have a slight wait, they are apologetic and sincere. I am thankful to have such a great doctor and team supporting me and my eye health.

It's rare to find a doctor who is intelligent and good at problems solving AND easy to talk to. Dr. Yang is just that. He discovered a rare defect in the lens of my husband's eye. When he didn't know what was wrong initially, he researched and worked at it until he figured it out. His staff is professional and knowledgable. Both Andy and Stacey are excellent at what they do! I'm a doctor myself, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to my providers. I've always been happy with Dr. Yang.
