Wanted to share how this hospital works the people incompetent and very bad at their job even the Doctors Ayelle and Moe seems like they don't know what their jobs is are even how to treat people not even telling family members the truth even when i talked to risk management they got the dates messed up. My Mom died here and it was due to their fault.
All i can say is if you have a chance to go some place else do it. If you put your or family members life in their hands the odds don't look good not sure how a hospital like this can stay in business when they tend to kill are their clients and somehow seem to get more. Careful if you go here

Like many other reviewers, I give this place one star. I'd give zero if I could. I went to the ER with a significant bone fracture. By the time I was transferred to a room 6 hours later, my leg had been observed by a physician's assistant and I was given pain meds. Nothing else. No wrap, no surgery (which should have been done immediately), no visit by any doctors.
This hospital is old and run down and the staff doesn't care. I had one nice nurse, Amy, and that was it. I went to a different facility for surgery and they couldn't believe how I was treated.

Staff was very well organized, efficient, friendly and caring; Facility is Super clean. Very grateful for a nice and positive experience. *** Sorry for a super long review ***** So I went in for a small surgery on my chest and being the first experience in my life, was worried to say the least. 1. Checking in was super easy as the security outside had my name with him in list of people who had surgery for the day; my hus had to show only his vaccination record; They gave us masks and checked us right in. Gave us parking instructions and was super friendly too. 2. Checking in at main counter, going through insurance stuff - very courteous, efficient staff. 3.
While at the prep room - friendly, efficient staff - check in, gave me my "staging area" where the nurses who was responsible for me, Crystal and Loraine helped out with all that is needed. These 2 ladies were AMAZING. The moment Crystal realized that I was scared, she calmed me down; and then she could sense it when she was looking for my vein for my IV, she just held on to my palm because my hand was so cold, and warmed it up - and poked the IV in while talking and calming be down, ever so softly. Seasoned hands, so I guess pain and discomfort was minimal; Crystal and Loraine was very efficient with all the paper work and was jovial and friendly and I felt I was in good hands. Loraine helped me get into the patients gown, wiped me and sterilized me so gently as if I am a baby! and knowing I get cold fast, they ensured they put warmer on me, along with socks and blanket to make sure I am ok while waiting for the surgery.
When doc came in to check-in, again, very very efficient friendly process. And nurses who I don't know name of, came in between to help me periodically with restroom and what ever was needed. 4. Then Mr. Shawn came to push my bed into the pre-op area; he was very sweet to make sure that I am totally wrapped in blanket as it was cold in corridors and got me into the pre-op room which seemed to be quite far, and must comment how gently and accurately he maneuvered the bed and got me in - and warned me about any bumps on the way! 5.
At the Pre-op, Nurse Lucy and Dr. Patil was again so perfect in their roles, and I was ready for the surgery. 6. My Doc, Dr. Nathan Chung, came in an checked on me a couple of times; 7. Once in the operating room, it all happened to fast and before I knew it, I was done with it and back in the prep room. 8. The moment I was up, Nurse Cindy was there helping me.
She was also very friendly and helped me with sitting up, dressing up and the moment I said to please thanks Loraine and Crystal for me, she did the extra step of calling Crystal who was still there. And they swapped and Crystal took care of me and got me to the car in a wheel chair. 9. The Ceiling tiles with pictures of sky, trees is a such a good fixture and was very calming to look at them. Truly touched and very grateful for a super nice experience. Thanks to all of the nurses, hospital staff and of course my Doc for taking care of me.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews here, but cannot relate at all. My daughter is just now leaving from a 16 day stay and her care has been EXCEPTIONAL in every way. She is a special needs adult who functions at toddler level emotionally and behaviorally. She also has a very complex, catastrophic seizure disorder, so her needs are extreme in every way.
Every staff member here; drs, nurses, respiratory therapists, case management, even dietary, went above and beyond to make her very stressful stay go as smoothly as possible. They allowed me to stay with her and once she was out of ICU, allowed her specially trained behavior management home staff to stay as well. I cannot say enough about the kind, patient, and thorough care she received here.
They listened to my every concern, addressed the many comorbidities that accompany her disorder (She has Dravet Syndrome), and were unfailingly kind and supportive to me. I wish I could remember the name of every one of the nurses she had; off the top of my head I can cite Kristen, Kersty and Ginny in ICU who advocated heavily for her and Gee, Shawna and Melinda in Stepdown.
I know I've missed some names because her care on both floors was amazing. Dr. Shahamiri, her attending, is one of the most gracious and caring drs I've ever met and all the neurologists were wonderful; they clearly made an effort to familiarize themselves with her rare syndrome. Dr. O'Neal, the cardiologist who saw her was very patient with my concerns over issues that I didn't understand and proved to be nothing to worry about.
My daughter is 32 and has been hospitalized more times than I can begin to count at more hospitals I can even remember. LAMC stands out as the best one she's ever been blessed to spend time at.

The absolute worst hospital ever. From the parking lot to the staff, it's all terrible. They have a tram that's always broke down, an elevator is broke down. The staff lies about many things. Everything they told us was untrue. My mom was scheduled for a surgery at 4 pm and it finally happened after many delays to 9 45 pm She was supposed to be transferred at 5 pm then 7 pm then finally got transferred at 930 pm. We asked to speak to a doctor and after 3 days never spoke to one. Don't trust your loved ones with this hospital.

Staff is rude and doesnt seem to care about the patient. My younger sister was here a few months ago in psychiatric hold because of suicidal ideation. The doctor was supposed to call her to check up on her after she was released and he never did. When she called back asking for help bc she felt her medications weren't working they told her constantly that they will call her.
No one did and now we are at a different hospital months later, in much worse condition. We almost lost her. I'm not saying it's entirely this hospital's fault but had they don't the bare minimum in even CALLING a patient in the fragile state she is in, we may have been in a much better situation. Next time Los Alamitos, maybe do your due diligence when someone is on psychiatric hold wanting to kill themselves. I could have lost my sister because of your laziness.

The common thread in the most of these reviews is "the staff was rude". I can attest to that. I was in the ER from 3/23 at 9:00 PM till 3/24 at 3:00 AM. Generally, they all acted as if they hated their jobs and would rather be somewhere else, and it clearly showed. No sense of empathy or compassion for the patients. I could have been in the DMV. The woman behind the desk at the ER waiting room acted exasperated and annoyed if you asked her a question.
She was dismissive and indifferent to everyone she spoke to. ( I had a front row seat for my 4 hour wait for a bed). The x ray guy, the EKG guy, just moved you around like a sack of potatoes with no attempt at conversation, just barking out instructions and not explaining what they were doing. While I was waiting for a bed, the ER registration office called me FOUR TIMES to get my insurance information, I explained to them that I did not have it, my daughter had that when she gave it to the ambulance guys.
I told them on the first call I would get it for them the next day, but they kept up with the harassing calls WHILE I WAS STILL WAITING FOR A BED. Clearly, this hospital prioritizes money over people. All this while I had a bad viral infection and felt like I was hit by a truck. I'd never been so sick. The place was chaotic, cluttered and dirty. I could go on.
But you get the idea. Just a poorly managed, badly staffed facility. Go elsewhere, as if your life depended on it. It just might. OK, now cue the response, "We are so sorry you had a bad experience, blah blah blah.

Everyone here were very helpful for my dad's recovery. I want to thank the ICU director Jon, neurologist Dr. Rosenberg, neurosurgeon Dr Rayhaun, nurses Cyrus, Diana, Pricilla, Norwin, Janette, Isabelle, Angela, Laurie, and anyone I have missed. Thank you for going the extra mile and caring. I would definitely recommend this hospital for your loved one!

Stay clear of this hospital by any means possible, including the E.R. Seriously, your LIFE WILL depend on doing so. As well as staying away from most doctors affiliated with this hospital. This place, staff, doctors & this E.R. deserve NO stars. They nearly killed me.on 3 separate occasions. RUN. don't walk AWAY from this place. As someone else posted (and which I fully agree with), I, too, would rather die & meet my Maker than to EVER return to Los Al Hospital and/or their E.R. They should be closed down.

By far the most scamming and unprofessional hospital. Under doctor staffed and RUDE head nurse. They let my friend go with no food and attention go from 11 pm till next day 2 pm. Long story short STAY AWAY from this place. They will keep you against your will and bill you and your insurance to the max.

Nathan is one of the worst and rudest nurses I have met. He managed patients on the first floor, including my father in 100B. Extremely unprofessional, he should not be in medical care or service. From day 1, he has had a foul mood. Difficult to get hold of or reach, and if you ask him any questions he'll put on his "tude". He acts and shows like he is drowning in work, in which case he should NOT be at the forefront.
His unprofessionalism is too notch, and as he mentioned he's walking out I told him, yes I think you/he should. Disgusting person and disgusting attitude who is tone deaf. If you ask him any question, he'll be first to jump and say he's doing a great job and everything to look after my father. These are signs of his insecurity and low level of nursing professionalism thinking this is a sales game

I wan to give a special thanks to Kristen Mesipam for her continues support of my daughter Adeline Fernandez. Kristen is a big part of my daughter's recovery with her skills and aptitude are truly at another level of health care. Jonathan Bloomberg is so kind and always very attentive to all the staff needs and just eager to provide the best customer service ever.
These are truly two employees out of this world. I just wanted to pore my heart out for these amazing individuals. What an awesome experience I have with them so did all of my siblings that spoke to them in person. Thanks for restoring my daughter back to health. Thanks again from Maricela Resendiz.

The worst hospital. I was taken there miss diagnosed and lucky didn't take the meds that wanted to give me. My Dad had surgery and they dropped him end up full of bruises. Another time he was there they gave him ambien after we told them not to. He was never the same again. I could go on with several other things that happened at this place but no need to waste the time. Just please never go to this place.

Worst hospital I have ever been to in my life. Front end ER staff are non existent (busy eating food behind the counter, ceviche to be exact), you will never see an actual Dr. but boy they bill you for one. My wife and I sat in the ER for three hours asking over and over what the hold up was and after three hours they finally said we are waiting on your urine analysis!
Hey genius in charge you never took a urine analysis so we would be here all night without a care in the world. By the way this is the second time we were there and the first was no better. This hospital needs some serious work or they are just there clearly to make money off the insurance companies. FYI some of the hospital equipment needs to be cleaned which from the looks has never been done.

This is the worst hospital ever. Please don't go to this hospital. Who is running this hospital, a bunch of lunatics? I think the medical board needs to visit them. You go in for covid. You're there for 9 weeks. They don't give you R/P or P/T until you ask for it. You test negative for covid and they refuse to move you to another unit. Is this all for monetary purposes? Unbelievable!

A special shout out to the emergency room staff that helped my 90 year old grandmother with a head wound. They questioned me, as they should, to make sure my grandmother got the proper care she deserves. DURING COVID! Thank you all, I'm blessed to have such dedicated staff taking care of my loved ones

The worst hospital I've ever had to experience! They really don't care about their patients or the severity of some of these emergency visits. I regret taking my husband to this Hospital it's been the worst mistake I've ever done! I honestly should have taken my husband to a bigger hospital but I thought he might have a quicker emergency surgery here since it wouldn't be as full as other hospitals My mistake!
My husband was in sever appendix pain and nurses and staff didn't acknowledge the severity even after his appendix bursted! He was still sitting in a chair bending over in pain! He wasn't given any pain medication until after he begged for it! And even at that they gave him a small pain reliever which didn't do the job! Not until hours later was he given a strong pain reliever but he was still asked to sit and wait!
He kept being told there was no beds but 5 hours until he felt like passing out was he then miraculously quickly given a bed. It's been 12 hours and he is finally being taken into surgery for his bursted appendix. I can't stress this enough please! Please don't take your loved one or anyone for that matter to this hospital! Please think it 2,3,4 times over before taking them to Los Alamitos Hospital!
It's been the worst hospital I've ever had to experience! I regret with all my heart bringing him here. I pray that everything goes well and my husband is finally being taken care of. Please I'll say it again choose a different hospital that will take better care of your loved ones.

Some advice and tips for anyone contemplating going to Los Alamitos ER 1. Don't waste your time! Find another hospital nearby 2. Don't bother making an appointment online (it means absolutely nothing) 3. Plan to sit outside with no updates as only patient sits in lobby alone for hours and hours 4. Worst staff personalities and attitudes. 5. Don't. ask any questions or inquire, you won't be answered.
Finally convinced a family member to go after serious issue that Urgent Care tried to diagnose earlier in the week and were unsuccessful. Went online to check wait times and was offered an appt. The appt was the only way I could convince the person to go assuming it actually meant something. 5.

I would never recommend this hospital. I was at the ER for 3 hours in the waiting room (never even put in a bed) had a ct scan, a urinalysis, and some blood work, discharged with a diagnosis of diverticulitis. They billed blue shield over $19,000 for 3 hours most of which was waiting. Ct scan alone was billed over $9,000 dollars. I know they. are playing billing games with the insurance company but now I'm on the hook for $3000 out of pocket.
Perhaps you should notify your patients that you are billing such ridiculous amounts before you treat them, oh right I guess I need to shop around during an emergency, just shameful. My family and I have been patients here many times but the community needs to know how they are treating insured customers vs what they accept for their losses for those uninsured. And I don't blame the uninsured it's just greed from the top.

This is my dear friends nightmare in Los Alamitos Medical Center on September 2020 These past few weeks have been very difficult and hectic for our family. My wife had an appendicitis 4 weeks ago, but due to the 20 hour wait at the hospital (Los Alamitos Medical), her appendix had ruptured and led to many complications. Could've been a simple. surgery, but it didn't go as we had hoped.
After a couple of weeks of pain, she was seemingly recovering and getting back to normal life. Then a couple of days ago, she started having abdominal pain with fever, so we visited the surgeon and was directed to go to the same ER to get a CT scan. After many hours of waiting, she took the scan and the.

So i had good and bad experience here im just going to tell you what my experience was with my dad and you can judge if you choose this service My dad came in because he had an infection on his toe it turned out that they had to cut out his toe due to his diabetes Long story short the people in the ER were great The date came for my dad surgery me. and my sister and my brother have been waiting in the waiting area the doctor came out and explain that they didn't cut my dad's toe off then he had the anesthesiologist explain why she said my dad had fluid in his lungs and they were going to order a EKG in the morning so we went back to the room to see my dad and told him that they did not cut.

My staff throughout my stay was amazing; Silva, Rizza, Kacie, Melissa, Margaret, and Maria! They were extremely attentive yet not intrusive. There was an error at first regarding my surgery which surgeon was going to cancel the surgery. But Jose made arrangements that allowed my surgery to occur 11:30am instead of 9am! I am grateful for the staff who either came in early or stayed late to allow my surgery to occur. It was difficult to make arrangements for two weeks down after this surgery. I am forever grateful for this hospital.
