When a general practitioner cannot resolve or identify your ear, nose or throat-related issue, they will typically refer you to an otolaryngologist. If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you might be experiencing an ear, nose or throat disorder. Contact us to schedule an appointment with an otolaryngology specialist.

Ear infections can occur in the outer or middle ear. This painful affliction is most common in children, but can affect people of all ages. Infections can also occur in the outer ear. They are most common when the skin in the outer ear is dry and cracked. Ear infections can be either acute (of short duration) or chronic (persisting or reoccurring frequently).
Ear pain, commonly referred to as an earache, is a common complaint and can result from infection, poor Eustachian tube function, or temporomandibular joint problems (TMJ). Other causes include ear trauma, perforated eardrum, sinus infection, sudden changes in pressure, excess buildup of earwax, sore throat, shampoo or water in the ear, tooth infection, arthritis of the jaw, and a foreign object in the ear. Ear pain is a pain in one or both ears that may be dull, sharp, or burning. It can be constant or intermittent, and is most common in children.

Got there at 3:25 to complete my registration. Left at 4:55 because i had not been seen at all. They asked me to arrive early to complete paperwork but couldn't see me in a timely manner. I walked out and told the nurse i was leaving and Dr. Black was standing there goofing off with a nurse. Extremely unprofessional. I left work early for this appointment. The front desk ladies were WONDERFUL!

Everybody was very professional. There was no wait time. I recommend you try this group for your ENT needs. My appointment was with Dr. Clark. He has wonderful bedside mannerism and spoke in terms that I clearly understood. I've been a patient with ENT Assoc for over 20 years but this was my first visit to the St. Vincents East location. Just a great group of doctors.

Fifteen years ago my husband had his deviated septum corrected with Dr Goldfarb and this past week I visited Anna Smith after suffering a 5 week long ear infection which my primary doctor was unable to successfully treat. Today, my husband is still breathing easy and my ear finally feels much better! Thanks ENT Associates of Alabama for your continued excellence! We appreciate the wonderful doctors and staff who are pleasant, knowledgable, and provide gentle and effective care for their patients.

I had a wonderful experience with Doctor Owens. I did not have to wait long when I arrived in his office. The girls that they had working in his office were very friendly. Dr. Owens was so helpful when we arrived and he took all the time that we needed to answer our questions. I came away feeling very fortunate to have him as a doctor.

I love them. They're fast and they still take there time making sure you are good. I have a trachea from the hospital and it's was to big. They went and found me a small one, told me how to clean it everything the hospital didn't tell me. I had bad allergic reaction and they quickly call a allergy doctor for me. They really making sure I can get better for my boys and I really appreciate everything they are doing for me. I highly suggest Dr. Owens.

I appreciate how thorough Dr. Goldberg is and that he listens to his patients. He seems to be very experienced. My only complaint is that they require masks but every time I go, at least one of ladies that checks you in is not wearing a mask or has it pulled down. I don't understand requiring it for patients but not enforcing it for the employees as well.

Dr. Simpson treated my husband for Meniers, it was a good experience. We left, only because hubby is a veteran, and the VA gives top of the line hearing aids for free. I recently suffered from sudden hearing loss and am being treated by Dr. Poyner, he's wonderful, as is the staff! We've never had a huge wait time, they're good about getting you in within 15-20 minutes of your appt. time with the Dr.

I've seen Dr. Poynor at ENT Associates for years. The staff here are polite, prompt, and handle everything from insurance to shots with a smile. If you're in the market for an ENT, check out this practice. When Dr. Poynor hasn't been available, I've seen Dr. Aland, who is also excellent, as I'm sure the other doctors in the group are.
Hearing aids, allergy testing, custom ear plugs, they really do it all. Give them a call if your allergies are as bad as mine! Helpful hint: park on the top (outdoor) level of the parking deck and walk into the building, take the stairs on the left down one floor, then when you open the door to the hallway, you are in front of the allergy office for ENT associates and just down the hall from the main office (this is much quicker and easier than navigating the complicated multiple elevator rides!).
