CHASS was established nearly 50 years ago in response to the closing of several community hospitals in Southwest Detroit and the subsequent flight of medical professionals to suburban practices. In 1970 Hispanic leaders negotiated the first-ever joint venture with local and state public health officials and CHASS began providing limited medical services to the uninsured and underinsured populations of Detroit. We're looking for dedicated people who love to work in a fast paced environment and want to engage people in being healthier.

Extremely unprofessional. Had an appointment on the 4th of November. When I got there I was informed that they had cancelled it. When I informed them that no one had contacted me to tell me this, they lied and said that they had both called me and sent me a letter. I had not gotten either. Fast forward to today (3 days later) I finally get the letter that tells me my appointment is cancelled.
The only issue is that the letter says they filled it out on October 9. Yet, the envelope states that it was sent on November 5, a day after my original appointment was supposed to be. Even with COVID slowing mail down, if they had sent the letter in the beginning of October it does not take a full month for the letter to arrive when it is sent in first class mail.

I think chess clinic use to be a great place to go but now I dont believe they put their best interest at heart. My son Was waiting for a referral for weeks and they never called i had to call 6 times. Blood work takes a long time the lady is real slow and acts like she dont care. What tops it off when you put in a urgent request for a doctor to call back you will be waiting a few days or up to a week.

I love my doctor and his nursing staff. Otherwise, most of the people are nice but the level of professionalism is non existent. I've been calling for 9 days on the phone for over 10 minutes each time and no answer. I've tried different extensions and left voicemails and no response. If you love frustration, make this your clinic.

Sometimes I'm in and out and sometimes I'm there forever! I've had to cancel my last 2 appointments because of something the clinic people did and when I tried calling they never answered the frickin phone! Hours say they close at 5pm. I called at 4:42 and let the phone ring till 5 o'clock! THEY NEVER ANSWERED MY CALL! SMDH

Huge modern, we'll equipped clinic. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They don't seem to honor many of the major insurance providers. Medical care is rushed and sometimes lacking as they attempt to care for so many patients. I believe they are not as thorough as they one might expect them to be. Reminds me of service at fast food restaurants, actually. This might explain why they're having problems with so many insurance providers.

I absolutely love this place. I have been going for several years. In my experience every one who work's at the CHASS center that I have ever spoken too has been nice, polite & absolutely 100% professional. They have went above and beyond when it comes to helping Me. The CHASS center is so much more then A doctors office. Their work in the community speaks for itself.
The preventative care programs, The 5K /10k & a mile in her shoes are just a few of the Amazing programs that they do/ have done for the community. There isn't enough room on this page to describe in detail how much my doctor has helped me. A few examples would be weight-loss, lowered blood pressure, getting my cholesterol where it is supposed to be. The Men and Women that work & Volunteer at the CHASS center are amazing people that do an outstanding job.
