A Neuro-Ophthalmologist is a physician who is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders that involve the eyes and the brain. This includes problems with the muscles of the eye, the optic nerve and its connections to the brain, and the areas of the brain that receive and process visual information.
As Neuro-Ophthalmologists we are often asked to see patients for Double Diplopia (aka vision). The patient can complain of constant or intermittent double vision. It is important to be seen as soon as the Diplopia is noticed since this can be a sign of a medical emergency. It is also important to make sure a trained eye care professional (often a Neuro-Ophthalmologist) evaluates the eyes and to determine the needed workup.
The macula is the central part of the retina, directly in the back of the eye. Light from images are focused on the area, and because of its unique structure, a sharp image is relayed to the brain. Any damage to the macula will result in decreased vision, and one of these conditions is a macular hole.
Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) is the most common cause of blindness in the United States of adults, particularly those approaching the age of retirement. Until relatively recently, the cause of ARMD was not entirely known, and it still is not fully understood. However, we now know much more, and understand that the condition is multifactorial, with both environmental and hereditary/genetic components.

IMO if I can give them a zero I would if I could. The supervisor nurse Jim was extremely extremely rude! The receptionist at the front said I couldn't go back with my wife who is disabled and needs me with her. So I had to wait outside. The doctor tells my wife to come on up. I come up and the reception just leave me to the wrong area where the nearest supervisor JIM comes out and start yelling at me saying I can't go this way even though she brought me that way.
I try talking to him but he interrupted me numerous times and talked over me. He was very aggressive and got in my face as well. He got in my face two more times and yes I balled my face up in protection mode and he says that'll be the last thing you'll regret doing which was obviously a threat. I have never in my 63 years been treated this way at a doctors office. I recommend definitely not going to this office as they are extremely rude.

Worst place I have ever experienced. Dr levy was the rudest doctor I have ever come in contact with. They insisted on taping my mask to my face when I told them I was allergic to surgical tape because my mask was not far enough over my nose according to them. "If You touch the tape I'm going to throw you out". If I could leave no stars I would. I wish I looked at the reviews before scheduling an appointment. His nurse Pam was just as bad. Even their other patients were in shock and were apologizing to me.

Dr. Dieter is an exceptional doctor. She is thorough, up-to-date, never in a hurry, respectful, budget-conscious and an excellent communicator. The most valuable service she provides is education. She has taught me more about my eyes than all of the other eye specialists (ophthalmologists, optometrists) I have seen over the years combined. I would recommend her to anyone wanting exceptional care and service.

Staff and doctor were cordial and appeared competent but delays were unacceptable. From the time of my appointment to when I left was over four hours, largely spent sitting in waiting rooms. I was told that my wait was longer because I was a new patient. While I was prepared or a long appointment, I was disappointed at being the last patient seen in multiple stages of the exam process.

I called to ask about previous records. The young lady on the phone was very helpful and compassionate. I was very happy with my previous visit with them and this wonderful interaction. Dr Spoor is great. Great bedside manner. But on my next visit, I dealt with Dr Levy. Not a fan, the god complex is too much. nobody is that good. Thank you.

1-24-13 (Venice office) 2 of the 3 techs didn't show up and Dr Torres that was supposed to be there at 8 am wasn't there as of 8:15. The lobby was full of people and I didn't see myself getting outta there in less then 2 hours, so I told the receptionist that this place is as organized as a fathers day celebration in Harlem and left
