Told me they had the right to send labs out of network when I said only if it's in network with insurance. That its continuity of care they have the right. Now I'm stuck will $1000 BILL for a urine. Call 6x no return calls. Spoke with Juile who says this is their right. No consideration for their patient

This place has horrible communication. Someone was supposed to call me to schedule an appointment as a new patient. After four days of them not calling me, I called them again. They told me that the lady that does the new patient scheduling was busy and was working on something and she was aware I needed to schedule and appointment and that she would call me.
It took her three more days to call me. Come to find out, nobody took the time to look over my records that were faxed from my previous urologist. They had those records for a whole week and never cared to look at them. They told me that the records were too old and that I need up to date records. They told me I need to find a family doctor and they need to refer me to them.
Thank you for taking over a week to get back to me to make an appointment and then tell me that I can't come to you guys without recent records. Also, on my referral they didn't tell me that it needed my social and insurance information on it as well. So I had to find a fax machine because I couldn't email them that information. I went to all of that work for nothing.
They said the referral looked good. You guys never answer your phone. It always rings and goes to voicemail. Horrible customer service. I do not recommend this place. Find a different urologist!

I personally can't believe the negative reviews. I've seen dr olsen for years. He has always been wonderful. I've had multiple procedures for kidney stones. I've never had a single issue. I use to see him in johnson city but since ballad became one i can go to the Bristol office. At the Bristol office I've seen dr Rogers as well. I was pregnant with my second child and he did a great job of reasurring me of what we could do safely/at each trimester.
The office staff has always been excellent at scheduling procedures, returning phones calls, answering questions, and are friendly in person. I recommend them to anyone looking for a urologist. I'm not sure which ones see patients at Bristol vs Johnson city but Taylor and Tongco are also excellent. I can't speak for the others bc I haven't had any personal experience with them.

This review is for the Johnson City location. I have never had a good experience there with the administrative staff. The nurses and PA, Kelly, are always friendly. However, the admin staff I have interacted with has been awful. The front desk admins have always been rude and scowling. There has never been an issue with my check in, I guess that is just their countenance at the time I have visited.
Just be aware: You will wait a long time, even if you get there early/on time. It's very open and no privacy when they ask you information about your address, etc. Everyone who is in there will hear your business. I was mortified when the front desk handed me a pee cup in front of everyone in the waiting room. That happens each time you visit. It seems that should happen behind closed doors with a nurse.
If you have to get a test scheduled, you will also wait days and days. There is only one scheduler with an enormous case load who is also frustrated and over worked. In my case, it took over a week just to get my test scheduled. Then more waiting. My insurance company stepped in, which I was not aware of but so grateful for, so who knows how long it would have taken to schedule a test had they not stepped in. So if you are in severe pain, find somewhere else!
