My appointment was 3:50pm. I was in the room and taking x-rays from 3:30-3:40. I didn't ask for x-rays and was hesitant to get them, but it appeared I wasn't going to get a choice. The nurse seem to cut me off when I told her what my chiropractor suggested. I waited until 4:10 in the room. Then I hear the doctor in the hall and he is talking with his last client about septic tanks for a good 5-10 minutes before he enters my room.

Then he rushes the appointment. The x-rays showed nothing, like I knew they would, he made a condescending remark about my chiropractor, then did not explain the side effects of a Cortisone shot. I woke up in extreme pain at 2am with no idea what was happening. They have very limited phone hours to call and get help, so I had to play phone tag with their answering service and nurses to try to get an answer.

Hi Friend, NORTHERN VIRGINIA ORTHO SPCIALISTS is a rip off. After they submitted claim thru my insurance and I paid Co-Pay, they still asking over $250.00. Also they did not send any bill to me, instead they notified to collection department. This is bad reputation of the NORTHERN VIRGINIA ORTHO SPCIALISTS. Please DO NOT ever trust this firm. Thank you.

Came here about a year ago and ever since I never went back. I've had severe wrist pain for 7 years. I was seen by Dr. Megan Friend and I was not happy at all with the appointment. She barely talked and seemed like she would rather be somewhere else. I got my x-rays done and she referred me to a rheumatologist that didn't accept my insurance at the time.

When I finally got to see a rheumatologist, they said they couldn't find what she was talking about. I called back asking for help with my wrist pain and the receptionist literally said this "She said there's nothing she can do for you." What a waste of time. Still in pain and going 8 years now!

Went in with knee pain, the doctor told me I was getting old ( I am 36) and said to stretch out my leg, and that is all that could be done. No PT was recommend. Stretched daily for a month, but nothing changed. Went to another doctor, within 5 min he found a large bakers cyst and drained it. I would NOT recommend this practice, the doctor didn't take the time or seem to care. Look elsewhere.

Dr. Friend repaired my torn ulnar collateral ligament a few weeks ago. The entire process from diagnosing the injury to surgically repairing it was flawless. Dr. Friend always has a smile and is wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Dr. Friend.

First off the nurse who has been there for years is amazing! Personable, and kind. My child (age 11) was treated by Dr. Friend and pretty much said it was a lost cost and his wrist would most likely be deformed for the rest of his life and there was nothing that could be done. No bedside manner and not compassionate at all. I got a second and 3rd opinion whom both disagreed with that and he underwent emergency surgery all within a week elsewhere!

I am a new patient extremely unsatisfied at the way this office is run. Here's why: My appointment was scheduled for 3:00 yesterday. I had previously gotten my new patient paperwork so it was already completed when I arrived at 2:45 as requested. At 3:20, after watching multiple clients (who had arrived after me) get called back before me, I advised my appointment was 20 minutes ago and asked how much longer I'd have to wait.

I was told they were waiting for a room to open up for me. The receptionists didn't even apologize for the wait. Five minutes later, I was called into an exam room, where I waited for another 25 minutes. Now 3:50, I got up and walked out of the room so I could reschedule my appointment. In the hallway I met another nurse/assistant and asked about rescheduling my appointment because I had already been there an hour and still hadn't seen my doctor.

While speaking with her, one of the doctors heard what I said and happened to be the doctor with whom I was supposed to meet. She apologized and asked in which room I had been waiting. I showed her and she explained noone had told her I was there. I met with the doctor for two minutes. My dissatisfaction is with the way the office is run, not with the doctor (Dr. Friend) herself. Thankfully I ran into my doctor instead of rescheduling because rescheduling would have been a waste of time given my current condition. Had the doctor been notified I was waiting, my visit would have been quick and a lot less frustrating.

I would like to say thank you to Dr. John Kim. After I broke my left clavicle with his guidance I chose surgery. Man I happy with the way it all turned out. The scar looks awesome and my shoulder and arm feel as good as new. I would also like to give a shout out to Jennifer Kernicky as she was my Physical Therapist and from my prior experiences with surgery.

The PT has a huge role in the overall outcome. I also would like to say thank you to all the other staff that I worked with from the front office to billing; everyone was polite and professional and extremely helpful.

I want to say that Dr. Kim is top notch, excellent bed side manner, thoroughly explains everything and takes his time answering all questions. I highly recommend him! Now as for the Manassas office staff, that's a different matter. Absolutely the worse attitudes by the little young girls at the front desk and don't even get me started on the so called office manager.

Apparently the surgical coordinator that scheduled and explained billing about my son's surgery is no longer there. Come to find out she didn't explain the billing portion very well. The office manager Lori hung up on me twice and then wouldn't even come to the front desk when I asked to speak to her, had her little nasty front desk girl lie and tell me she was in an interview.

The Haymarket office is outstanding, there's a much more mature adult that works the front desk. I will continue to reccomend Dr. Kim and continue to take my family there, however we will only be visiting the Haymarket office from now on. Dr. Kim gets 5 stars but the office staff if I could do nothing, it would be that.

Just prefacing that the doctors are absolutely wonderful. however much is to be desired about the front office and how the practice is run. That's the only reason for the low rating. My last doctor's appointment was on September 11th. I told the front desk that I made a $50 payment at my previous appointment in July which was paid by my insurance company since I had already met my out of pocket for the year.

I was told to wait 6 to 8 weeks for my refund. I patiently waited the 8 weeks which was around Oct 31st. I've been battling it out with the office manager who never is there to get my $50 refund. I was lied to and I was told the check is in the mail. We're approaching November 29th and I still don't have my refund. The doctors are great but they need an efficient front office and accounts payable. Accounts receivable is Right On Target especially when it comes to collecting my money. Heaven forbid you are wrong in calculating your payment.
